I offer a safe, accepting, and honoring space using a combination of talk therapy, psychoeducation, mindfulness practices, somatic interventions, internal family systems, and Brainspotting.
“Pain is inevitable. Suffering is optional." - Haruki Murakami. At times, life brings us challenges and hurdles that we feel ill equipped to handle on our own. I feel honored to work with individuals as they navigate the many changes that life brings-adolescence, transitioning to adulthood, marriage and family, career changes, divorce, loss of loved ones, and aging. Often, these changes create anxiety, depression, anger, and feeling "stuck" - and we may not know how to move forward. My clients seek to understand themselves better, to change old, unhelpful patterns of thinking and belief, and create lives full of meaning and joy!

Are you someone who finds him/herself experiencing feelings of dissatisfaction and restlessness, within yourself or within your relationships? You know something is wrong but you can’t put your finger on it. Are you feeling reckless, lonely, misunderstood, exhausted and easily irritated? You feel like an imposter at times. You feel apathetic toward things that once brought you pleasure and joy. You might even be suffering from symptoms of panic, anxiety, or depression as a result of this time in your life.

As a counselor, I am dedicated to helping individuals understand themselves more deeply and create meaningful change in their lives. My primary therapeutic approach blends parts-work/IFS (Internal Family Systems) with a solution-focused model. I have found that this combination works best for clients looking to establish clarity and momentum in their lives. While exploring past experiences/trauma can be valuable in certain contexts, the most transformative work happens when we look closely at the different “parts” of ourselves that continue to show up in the present, and seek to realign them with how we want to show up in the world.

Therapy can be a place to work through difficult emotions and to break inefficient habits or patterns. I'm committed to providing affirmative therapy with all clients. I'm casual, friendly, biracial (Japanese and white), like to give feedback in a clear manner, and I tend to laugh often. When it's appropriate, I share information based on research, history, or theory to challenge and clarify what's keeping you stuck.

If you've tried to understand why you react the way you do — and understanding hasn't been enough to change it — you're not alone, and you're not broken. Complex trauma, anxiety, and long-standing emotional patterns often live below the reach of insight. That's exactly where I work. I specialize in helping people who feel stuck in emotional patterns that don't match who they want to be — whether that shows up as anxiety, low self-worth, relationship struggles, or a persistent sense that something from the past is still running the show.

Using research-backed approaches like EMDR, somatic methods, and brainspotting I help clients process what’s weighing on them in a safe and grounded way.
Are you feeling constantly on alert, emotionally drained, or like you're just going through the motions? Do you experience restless sleep, intrusive thoughts, or moments when the past feels too close? Maybe you've become skilled at staying strong for others, but you're not sure how to take care of yourself. You may feel disconnected from yourself, your relationships, or from a sense of safety and calm. Many people in your position feel like they should “just handle it,” but the truth is, carrying so much alone can wear you down over time.

I draw from Brainspotting, Mindfulness, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to support meaningful and lasting change.
Expectations—both our own and those placed on us by others. Pressures from family, work, school, or social media can make it difficult to express your true feelings or make choices that reflect what you genuinely want. You might be the one others rely on—the one who holds it all together—but underneath, you feel exhausted, overlooked, or unsure of what you truly need. This kind of pressure and uncertainty can leave you feeling stuck and disconnected from your path. You don’t have to carry the weight of high expectations alone. Together, we’ll build skills to reduce overwhelm, increase self-understanding, and find a balance again.

Brainspotting Therapists
How does brainspotting work?
Brainspotting works by using eye positioning to identify and process traumatic memories so that a client is better able to move forward and live with less fear. The theory behind brainspotting is that by identifying where a person looks when thinking of traumatic memories, a therapist will be able to guide them to focus on that spot and work with the client to get them out of the “fight, flight, freeze” response associated with the traumatic memory.

Is brainspotting an evidence-based therapy?
Brainspotting is a theory-based alternative therapy. It is one of the newest forms of treatment, so very little research has been completed that examines the mechanism by which it works. The theory behind brainspotting is that eye position can be linked to areas of the brain that store and process memory.

How effective is brainspotting?
Because it is such a new treatment, the effectiveness of brainspotting cannot be quantified. Some people have found it to be effective on its own, or in conjunction with other types of therapy. It is considered an alternative therapy, and it is popular with people for whom more traditional therapies have proven ineffective.

How long does brainspotting take to work?
A typical brainspotting session will last between 60 to 90 minutes. There is no required number of sessions needed to complete brainspotting therapy, but in many cases it is delivered over the course of about six sessions. Clients are encouraged to rate their level of distress prior to a session and again following a session, and to track progress.
