Life can feel like a constant battle, where every day is about surviving rather than experiencing. Teens often carry the weight of family dynamics and peer pressure. Young adults grapple with transitioning to independence. Adults can feel overloaded with years of anxiety, depression, and trauma. Throughout all of these stages, it's natural to want clarity, peace, and a stronger sense of self. Some come looking to tackle challenges with solutions, while others want to peer at their inner world in a safe space. No matter the reason, therapy is a place where you don't have to hold it all together and you're no longer alone.

I'm currently accepting clients who want support with healing from complex trauma, struggling with substance use, anxiety, depression, or thoughts of suicide.
In session you can expect us to explore your relationship with yourself and others, and often times we'll talk about what's happening between us in therapy. I integrate "parts" work and use somatic exercises to deepen your experience with yourself and the world around you. I'm direct, transparent, and also compassionate and funny.

Life is hard—more often than not, it just doesn’t turn out the way we thought it would. Maybe you’ve experienced trauma, significant losses, or relationship struggles. Maybe you’re stuck in patterns you can’t seem to break or weighed down by an accumulation of “small problems” that now feel overwhelming. Here’s the truth: It’s not you—life is just hard. And therapy helps.

Do you feel that your childhood or early adult life was different from others and think it's affecting your current relationships? Or, is it hard to say what happened, but you get the sense it wasn't "normal"? Experiences like these can leave us wanting to be in relationships, but struggling with them. I work with clients who have experienced neglect or trauma over time (e.g., family with substance abuse, difficult siblings, narcissistic partners or parents). We'll explore what these experiences taught you and experiment with new ways of showing up to give yourself a better future. By the end, you won't need me. You'll have you!

As a licensed social worker, I specialize in working with first responders and their families, teens, and young adults - especially those navigating the complex journey through trauma, PTSD, anxiety, and emotional overwhelm. My job is to help you bridge that gap - to find clarity, connection, and a renewed sense of peace within yourself. Whether you are showing up with years of hidden pain or just beginning to feel like something needs to change, you're welcome here - exactly as you are.

I have over 20 years as a social worker primarily in community suicide prevention.
I believe the first step in therapy is to create room for ALL of our thoughts and feelings and work to develop a new network of insights and behaviors that allow us to be more present, more aware and to live more fully. However we also know that so many life stressors and challenges get in the way and contribute to our struggling relationships, compulsive behaviors, addictions, feelings of hopelessness, incessant worries or past traumas that weighs us down. Holding space for ourselves and our feelings and emotions will help us to navigate these challenges easier and will allow our more authentic and best selves to emerge.

Hi, I’m Grace and I am here to help! I am proud of you for starting the therapy journey. I enjoy working with children, adolescents, and adults in all stages of life. I practice psychology from a psychodynamic lens which simply means I believe that a person’s roots and earlier life experiences impact their current functioning. While therapy goals are built on an individual’s needs, I will always maintain a focus of deeper self awareness during our time together. During sessions you can expect a variety of techniques from play, art, exploring family history, and DBT tools. I am also certified in EMDR and Ketamine assisted therapy.

Is it the middle of the night and you can't sleep because your brain will not shut up? Are you replaying a tape of your failures over and over in your head OR are you worried about all the what-ifs that will come with tomorrow? When our mental health hijacks our nights, our days, our lives; we feel alone, we feel isolated. Unable to find enjoyment in life because we feel trapped by our thoughts whether they be of the past or of the future.

Suicidal Ideation Therapists
How does therapy for suicidal ideation work?
Stress, depression, anxiety, or upsetting circumstances can give rise to suicidal thinking. Therapy can address the events at the core of an individual’s suffering. Understanding why a person may be suicidal can help the therapist and the patient discover alternative methods of coping. A person with suicidal ideation may be mired in catastrophic thinking, and treatment like cognitive behavioral therapy is a good choice for breaking such patterns. In addition, treatment such as acceptance and commitment therapy can help a person manage their distress through better emotion regulation.

Which therapies are best for suicidal ideation?
Specific approaches used by professionals include cognitive behavioral, dialectical behavior, psychodynamic, acceptance and commitment therapies, among others. Cognitive behavioral and dialectical behavior therapies are two widely used therapies that can help individuals with painful thoughts and past traumas. These therapies help an individual tolerate distress, regulate emotions, and not act on dangerous urges.

Are there specific medications to be combined with therapy?
The use of medication for suicidal thoughts must be aligned with the underlying cause; conditions such as depression, anxiety, and psychosis may be at the root of suicidal ideation. A psychiatrist may prescribe medications for symptoms, which may include antipsychotics such as aripiprazole or antidepressants such as selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors.

How often and how long are therapy sessions for suicidal ideation?
As with any type of therapy, sessions depend on the individual. Patients may see improvement within 15 to 20 sessions, at an average of 50 minutes per session, while others may opt for 20 to 30 sessions over, perhaps, a six-month period. Still other patients, especially those with co-occurring conditions like major depression and anxiety, may need to continue sessions for up to 12 to 18 months. In some cases, residential treatment may be recommended for an individual who is judged to be at high risk of self-harm.
