I infuse
Spirituality
into my practice by honoring your background and personal beliefs.
Grieving is not easy, it is painful, it is overwhelming and it takes time to adjust to a new lifestyle. Loss is part of everyone's lives. No matter the losses you go through, they are important, and they can feel devastating. We mourn the death of our loved ones, a friend, a partner, our children, parents, miscarriage, stillbirth, and pets - we never forget. We also experience grief through a loss of a job, a home, divorce, a breakup, decline in physical/mental health, relationships, friendships, roles, identity, independence, financial security, chronic illness, plans, hopes, and dreams. I am here to help you process and heal.

I offer a range of specialty services that generally fall outside the typical categories and tend to use a “whole person” approach to treatment and stabilization, though over the last 10+ years of intensive couple’s and individual work I’ve treated almost everything and welcome all issues large or small, no matter the complexity. I offer Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy as well as Spiritual Emergence Coaching and meditation training for issues where mental health and
spirituality
meet. Lastly, I offer specialty testing to precisely identify problems and diagnoses, then use these to best determine what treatment will be most helpful.

My therapy modality integrates all that is you- past, present, and
spirituality
to help you understand how everything is interconnected.
Hola & Hello, a little bit about myself: I am a bilingual Mexican American Latina and a child of immigrant parents. My past work experience has included working with latino women and men in low income communities. Some populations have included single mothers. Currently I am working with first generation latinos struggling with depression, anxiety, stress, imposter syndrome, having been parentified as a child, perfectionism, being the "black sheep" of the family, or generational trauma. Some individuals also include navigating the world being introverted. Introverted or not, all are welcome.

I have experience in a variety of areas including eating disorders, mood disorders,
spirituality
, life transitions, addictions, grief, trauma, stress, and relationship issues.
There are a lot of beautiful things in this world, but there is nothing I have encountered more beautiful and complex than human beings. There is so much depth, mystery, beauty, pain, and meaning in each person's story. I became a therapist because of my longing to hear people's stories and meet them exactly where they are. My greatest passion is caring for people through empathy, understanding, listening, and interceding into life's painful moments. I am committed to offering my clients acceptance, compassion, and unconditional positive regard in the midst of struggle.

On COVID-19: The world has changed as we know it, and this may cause anxiety, questions of
spirituality
and unease.

I am a seasoned psychotherapist who has worked with almost every issue imaginable. I doubt that you'll shock me. You'll find me warm, accepting, work oriented, and highly competent. I'm the spiritual therapist you've been looking for. I help women living with anxiety, depression, and/or trauma, feel more alive, more at ease, and more in alignment with their intuition and their true, authentic self. Do you feel like you're moving through life in a daze or, on the other hand, always on edge? Are you frequently stressed or burnt out? Do you feel like you need to learn better coping skills? Are you ready to have more emotional resiliency so you can handle difficult emotions and situations with ease? Are you interested in
spirituality
? If you answered yes to any of these questions, we may be a good fit.

Your mind, body, & spirit are important components of a good life. I work with relationships, abuse, bullying, developing a strong and healthy sense of self, sex & gender, &
spirituality
. Having had a number of experiences with loss and the survival of the soul, I also do lots of grief and hope work over the passing of beloved animals and people. I find that this helps people with anxiety, especially important in our time. I am fully supportive of various orientations and paths to fulfillment, aware of the roles that class, race, and gender play in our lives. Most of all, I want you to find your true self, not a mask imposed on you.

Depression, grief, anxiety, death/dying, identity,
spirituality
, and navigating major life changes and other moments that require a bit of patience and a dash of creativity with ourselves are some of my specialty areas.
Finding an authentic way to be ourselves in an incongruent time isn’t easy. Yet I believe that we are all entitled to do just that–to be ourselves in all our messy, creative, unfinished, work-in-progress glory. Creativity, movement, mindfulness, and nature, are all things we may draw on in our work together. I am passionate about working with members of the LGBTQIA+ community and view all of my work through an intersectional lens. I am also passionate about working with elders, neurodiverse folks, and those grieving a loss or facing a scary health diagnosis. If you’re ready to get started, I’m ready to meet you along the way.

Together, we will navigate the journey of discovering your inner wisdom and implementing it, so that you may live a full and meaningful life out of YOUR truth.

I incorporate neuroscience,
spirituality
, mindfulness, and nutrition to help you feel better from depression and anxiety, and/or to help you quit drinking too much.
On your best day, you are bright, bold, and badass; feeling really great because you've got your shiz *almost* together. On your worst, you may feel insecure (doomed, even!), crushed by worry, binging food/booze/Netflix, and wanting to hide under your covers forever and ever. And if you're like most of my ambitious and high-achieving clients, these days can even be in the same week, which is really frustrating, confusing, and downright exhausting. Or maybe you suspect that your drinking is a little OOC, or getting in the way of the life you know you could have. You deserve so much more. Want someone who gets it? I got you.

Are you feeling stuck, as if life has more to offer but you aren't sure how to get there? Perhaps you're confused on what to do next? Maybe you're seeking change but unsure of how to go about it. Then I'd like to work with you! I offer a safe, non-judgmental space for you to grow and reach your potential. I work with individuals who are experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, relationship troubles, grief and loss. I also work with folks who want to dive into men's work(male identity and masculinity) and career/goal setting.

What should I expect from therapy that incorporates a focus on spirituality?
Spirituality can mean different things to different individuals, depending on their experiences, beliefs, and life histories. Some individuals focus on strengthening their belief system, while others experience spirituality in secular ways, such as through meditation, yoga, or by spending time in nature. Clients can expect a therapist to help guide and grow their spirituality through any of these techniques, encouraging the individual to cope with the challenges they face and develop strategies to build resilience and purpose to improve their outlook in life.
What are the most common treatments that include spirituality?
There are several treatments that incorporate spirituality. Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT) helps a person examine and reframe their negative thoughts and behaviors. Acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) focuses on emotional acceptance and psychological flexibility. Existential therapy is most often used to address anxiety, depression, grief, loneliness, apathy, despair, questions of identity, and feelings of purposelessness and existential dread. Transpersonal therapy focuses on a client’s spirituality and meaning in life and may incorporate techniques including meditation, visualization, hypnotherapy, dream analysis, and or breathwork.
Can therapy incorporating spirituality help atheistic or agnostic individuals?
Yes. For non-believers, spirituality can offer benefits including a greater sense of connection to others and to the natural world. An interest in spirituality may also spur individuals to pursue mindfulness practices, or to contemplate their purpose in life and how to achieve it.
How effective is spirituality as a therapeutic remedy?
Research suggests spirituality is generally beneficial for individuals. It is correlated with better health habits, such as less substance use, and an improved capacity to cope with stress and other mental health challenges. Increased spirituality can lead individuals to become more empathic and less materialistic, as well.
