Hi, I’m Abby. I help people find ways of moving through pain more effectively and wholeheartedly. Experience working with psychiatric crises and severe & persistent mental illness taught me that presence and connection are possible amid deep emotional pain and the human capacity for meaningful change is remarkable. “You know that the antidote to exhaustion is not necessarily rest? … The antidote to exhaustion is wholeheartedness.” - David Whyte

I have extensive experience working with people navigating psychosis and severe mental illness, as well as those caught in the criminal justice system.
You may be carrying experiences that feel too heavy to name—trauma, loss, rage, or a sense that something fundamental is broken. Maybe you've tried to 'fix' these problems before, or you're exhausted from trying to hold everything together. I work with people who are ready to do more than just manage symptoms; together, we make space for radically new ways of being to emerge.

I have extensive experience working with those that have been wrapped up in the criminal justice system, have experienced their first episode of psychosis,
I highly believe that the first step is finding a therapist you can trust to be vulnerable with, and that this does not mean that you have to have all of your goals and objectives already defined before you meet with a therapist; what we're working towards can be developed along that pathway.

Real psychotherapy is not about quick fixes. My practice is built for those ready to go deeper—beyond symptom relief—into lasting transformation. My background reflects over 20 years of Buddhist practice, more than a decade of clinical work across crisis and private settings, and currently I'm pursuing advanced doctoral research in psychology.
Clients often come to me when they are ready for a space that can hold complexity—whether it’s trauma, identity, meaning, or the unconscious patterns that keep repeating. Together we work at the intersection of depth psychology, existential philosophy, and contemplative practice.

I believe relational support plays a central role in individual healing. The diversity of our human experiences is vast, yet our need for feeling seen, heard, and understood in deep ways is shared. I believe our inner world deserves care and attention. I am passionate about supporting those who are struggling with pain. I feel called to support people through pain in its many forms—psychological, physical, and spiritual—especially during times of anxiety, grief, illness, big transitions, or questions about meaning. With a background in both child care and caregiving, I welcome clients across the lifespan.

Hi there. Welcome to your new chapter of healing. Let's do this. I specialize in complex trauma, eating disorders, and addiction (a lot of the hard stuff). I use trauma-focused approaches to help you address underlying “stuck points” that prevent you from feeling safe to grow.
I provide honest and direct feedback. I'm a hard-ass for your mental health... but I also meet you with compassion, empathy, joy, humor, and a little bit (or more) of swearing. Trauma work isn't easy. I get it. But let's find a way to make this more accessible, because you deserve a chance to find healing and hope again.

I believe all psychological symptoms serve a function, such as regulating emotions, avoiding distress, or maintaining interpersonal connections. In therapy, we will identify the functions of your symptoms and find healthier ways for you to meet your needs. This often involves exploring the interpersonal contexts in which your symptoms developed and are maintained. In this way, we will identify what's getting you stuck and make way for you to have new emotional and interpersonal experiences. My therapeutic style is collaborative, warm, curious, and empathic.

My successful clients are active psychotherapy participants who are dedicated and motivated for change. Introspective, he/she thinks about therapy outside of the office and attempts to use the knowledge and insight gained to improve relationships, goals, and life satisfaction. At times, psychotherapy requires difficult work from both the therapist and client, and the outcome is predicated by the mutual effort vested in the therapeutic process.

Psychosis Therapists
What’s the most effective treatment for psychosis?
The most effective treatment for psychosis is coordinated specialty care. In this model, a team of professionals works with a patient to address all aspects of the underlying disorder. This approach incorporates individual or group therapy, employment and education support, family support and education, medication management (which often involves low doses of antipsychotics), and case management to facilitate problem-solving as needed.
When should people seek treatment for psychosis?
People should seek immediate treatment at the earliest indication of psychosis. Symptoms include delusions, hallucinations, disorganized or blocked speech, and agitated body movements. Early signs that a person may be developing a disorder that will lead to psychosis include suspiciousness of others, memory problems and distractibility, an inability to think clearly, rapid or nonsensical speech, withdrawal from friends or family, aggression toward others, and sensitivity to bright lights or noises.
What if psychosis is left untreated?
Without treatment, psychosis can have significant repercussions, including injuries, job loss, homelessness, financial or legal trouble, ruptured relationships, and suffering for the person and their family. While early treatment for psychosis often yields the best results, there is no point past which it becomes useless to seek treatment. At any point, treatment can make a difference.
How do I get someone else to seek treatment for psychosis?
It’s extremely difficult to watch a loved one suffer from hallucinations, delusions, and other elements of psychosis—sometimes exacerbated by their fears of treatment. Have a conversation with them in a quiet space and maintain a calm, supportive tone. Share your concerns about behaviors you’ve observed, suggest treatment, and explain the potential benefits. Listen carefully to their responses. The person may not be ready after one conversation, but with time, they may come around.
