I specialize in work with eating disorders, trauma, postpartum depression, and couples distress.
My approach to therapy is rooted in the belief that who you are makes sense. Even when your emotions, behaviors, or relationships are extremely different than what you want them to be, I believe that our feelings carry wisdom, our behaviors serve a function, and our current situation becomes clear in the context of our whole story. With this stance of curiosity and acceptance, I can help you understand the parts of your life that are causing distress and move toward the life you want to be living. I am an ideal fit for clients who want to make a change in their behavior while understanding the way those behaviors have functioned.

I specialize in perinatal and postpartum mental health, eating disorders, trauma, and relationship issues.
Therapy can be a deeply profound and vulnerable endeavor. Sometimes one can find themselves 'stuck' in patterns that are no longer serving them and my approach to therapy focuses on partnering with you to help identify where you feel stuck and work toward healing. You can think of me as your partner or teammate in that process, one that provides compassion, encouragement, and some gentle challenge when appropriate. Using a collaborative, relational, and trauma informed approach, I hope to establish a safe space for you to be vulnerable and feel understood.

I have special training in perinatal mental health, disordered eating, anxiety and trauma.
When life starts to feel like a lot, it’s really easy to try to control everything. That can show up as overworking, chasing perfection, people-pleasing, or sticking tightly to routines around food, exercise, or productivity. The problem is, those patterns usually leave us wiped out in a way that even sleep doesn’t really fix. Instead of just reacting to stress, we can learn how to slow down, notice what’s coming up, and move through uncomfortable emotions in more supportive, sustainable ways. That’s the kind of work I love doing with clients.

My own entry into motherhood was a journey in itself— miscarriage, medical complications and postpartum anxiety.
I use an integrated approach that blends my background in perinatal/maternal mental health and yoga with the brain-body centered technique of Brainspotting that works to heal emotional wounds and trauma from the inside out. I utilize evidence-based therapies, such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Mindfulness.

Seeking therapy is difficult and the first step is reaching out to find a therapist. Congratulations! The most successful relationships are based on a good "fit" between therapist and client. We will work together to pinpoint your areas of struggle, understand your history, and rewrite your story in a way that feels authentic to you. My goal is for you to leave our first session feeling welcomed, seen, and heard so that you have a renewed sense of hope that things can change in your life.

I work with adults struggling with anxiety, chronic pain, and those experiencing pregnancy, pregnancy loss, postpartum anxiety/depression, and parenthood.
My clients tend to hold themselves to high standards at home, work, and in relationships. At times that approach pays off, but more often it gets out of balance. They worry they’re falling short or disappointing the people they care about and find themselves constantly analyzing and overthinking. The desire to keep others happy or avoid criticism can make it difficult to know what they want, make decisions, or ask for support. They’re often worn out, and in some cases, dealing with chronic pain conditions like migraines, pelvic pain, or back aches. They want relief.

I also support people through the tender seasons of pregnancy and postpartum, when identity and emotions shift in ways that can feel both beautiful and disorienting.
My approach is warm and collaborative, rooted in curiosity rather than correction. Our work will unfold at your pace, blending conversation with body-based practices like mindfulness, somatic awareness, Gestalt, breathwork, and time in nature. When structure or new tools are needed, I draw from CBT, DBT, and ACT to help translate insight into daily life.

Pregnancy, Prenatal, Postpartum Therapists

What are the most effective ways to address pregnancy, prenatal, and postpartum concerns?

The most effective way to address pregnancy, prenatal, and postpartum concerns is by finding a therapist who has prior experience helping other patients overcome the challenge being faced. For example, a marriage and family therapist may have experience helping couples adjust to their new relationship dynamic. An anxiety specialist may have experience helping with phobias or illness anxiety related to the child’s health. A depression specialist may have experience treating postpartum depression.

When should I seek treatment for prenatal or postpartum concerns?

Pregnancy and the postpartum period involve intense physical and mental changes; a degree of upset and instability is normal. However, if these changes impair daily functioning, it may be time to seek help. This distinction is pertinent for postpartum depression: A period of teariness, irritability, and distress is difficult but normal in the one to two weeks after childbirth (sometimes called the “baby blues.”) But if feelings of sadness and hopelessness persist beyond that period, the person should seek treatment.

How do I manage worries during pregnancy or the postnatal period?

A therapist can help patients develop the tools they need to manage anxieties during or after pregnancy. Cognitive behavioral therapy can help people identify and reframe harmful patterns of thought, and change their behaviors. Other techniques and skills can allow people to develop acceptance, psychological flexibility, self-compassion, communication skills, and more.

Are there specific medications for postpartum depression?

In 2019, the FDA approved the first medication designed to treat postpartum depression. The medication is called brexanolone and is delivered intravenously by a medical professional over the course of a few days. However, typical antidepressants, which are more accessible, can also treat postpartum depression. The disorder is often best treated through a combination of medication and therapy.
