I have expertise in several evidence-based interventions such as Parent Child Interaction Therapy ( PCIT), Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACE), EMDR, and emotionally focused couples and family therapy (EFT).
I specialize in working with parents of children with behavior concerns, anxiety, and medical conditions, or just parents and couples navigating the ups and downs of life! I always tell parents that there is no amount of pre-child therapy, love between you and your partner, or inner child healing that can fully prepare you for having a child. Additionally, there is no podcast, book, or blog that is a one-size-fits all guide to parenting. Parenting is messy work! I help parents get comfortable in the uncertainty, get on the same page, and navigate parenting using a values-based approach.

I operate from an attachment and relational lens and often integrate different modalities (Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Parent-Child Interaction Therapy, Child-Parent Psychotherapy) based on what is the best fit for the client.
Navigating life's challenges – whether as a child, parent, adult, or in relationships – can be difficult. I work with individuals from infancy through adulthood, helping them understand and change unhelpful patterns of behavior. My practice also includes supporting young adults through life transitions and career changes, exploring childhood experiences, and working with couples.

I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT), Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Parent Child Interaction Therapy ( PCIT), Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI), and the Gottman Method to inform my approaches.
I look forward to empowering clients to explore their strengths, heal from past experiences, gain deeper understanding of their emotions and thought patterns, develop healthy coping skills, and embrace positive change in their lives! I graduated with a BS in Human Development and Family Science in 2015 and completed my MSW in 2019. I began working as a therapist specializing in working with children and teens who had experienced trauma, often alongside their parents and guardians, to promote healing and change in themselves and within their family systems.

Parent-Child Interaction (PCIT) Therapists

Does parent-child interaction therapy (PCIT) work?

PCIT is an evidence-based treatment that has been shown to be effective across domains, including for children with behavioral problems, those on the autism spectrum, and those who have experienced early childhood trauma. Further, studies have found that the skills developed through PCIT benefit not only the child in therapy but also siblings, as the parent internalizes lessons learned in sessions and is able to incorporate them into interactions with other family members.

How long does PCIT last?

The duration of treatment depends on the specific challenges clients face. Sessions are typically 60 to 90 minutes long, and treatment lasts, on average, between 12 and 20 sessions. Factors that influence treatment duration include how regularly a client attends treatment, how much progress is achieved between sessions, the particular skills that need development, and the extent to which the parent and therapist see improvement.

Can PCIT be done online?

PCIT is among the therapy types best suited for video sessions. Therapists are able to communicate with parents with essentially the same ease, and by observing the parent and child at home in their normal environment, the therapist may gain additional insight into their interactions, as the child will have their normal toys and may feel more comfortable and act more naturally than they would in a therapist’s room.

Does PCIT help parents?

In addition to the skills parents develop through the treatment, PCIT has also been shown to reduce frustration, stress, and depression in parents and promote confidence and a sense of calm when dealing with their children. The desired outcomes of PCIT include a reduction in defiant and aggressive behavior by children and an improvement in communicating their feelings productively, complying with parental instruction, and behaving according to parents’ rules. Growth in these areas can be a relief for parents.
