I specialize in evidenced-based cognitive behavioral therapies with an emphasis in mindfulness and trauma-focused interventions.
Finding a therapist who is the right fit for you is a stressful undertaking but worth the time and effort. I really enjoy working with individuals who are introspective, resilient, and want to make the most out of their time in sessions. While working in a training institute I have supervised many new therapists starting their careers and the most common complaint I have heard is that the therapist is "nice" or "supportive" but does not help the client make changes. Balancing support and validation with the push people need to live the life they want to be living is the true testament of the therapist's skill.

I have found from a personal and professional perspective that Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and mindfulness can help to create an uplifting environment both internally and externally to provide the support you need to accomplish your goals.
Everyone experiences difficulties in life and there is no time like the present to find help supporting the emotional weight you may be feeling. Whether it is the pandemic, the economy, or your personal experiences, external situations can have a serious impact on your internal self. By working as a team, my goal is to help you explore the reasons why you have these negative emotions and begin the process of lessening the impact they are having on your life. Emotional Regulation has been made harder through the current cultural climate and my hope is that together we can make your ability to feel at peace with yourself a reality.

I like to integrate techniques for emotional regulation, mindfulness, and boundary-setting, and invite clients to set a goal or walk away with a skill at the end of each session.
As a holistic, body-centered therapist, I believe your truth lives not just in your thoughts, but in your emotions, body, and lived experience. I encourage clients to tune into both their thoughts and their body’s signals to support deeper self-awareness. I specialize in working with codependency and anxious-attachment, and I’m especially passionate about supporting women who feel stuck in patterns of people-pleasing, overthinking, or self-doubt.

You will sense mindfulness as I walk you through how breathing effects your polyvagal system.
Courage is the foundation to every client's work. Whether you are making a life decision, addressing your or helping your family member/ love ones' with their psychological struggles, or striving to become who you are and do what truly matters to you... Often times, courage may be disguised as anxiety, fear or painful indecisiveness. Reach a better understanding, through testing or mapping out where you are, and really listen to your symptoms/ guides. Then I encourage you to plant courage through forgiveness and compassion so that you can practice, acceptance, confrontation, working through, and letting go.

While I am trained in various modalities, I lean towards Person-Centered, Gestalt, Narrative, and mindfulness CBT within my integrative approach.
You know the drill. That forced smile when you’re crumbling inside. The automatic “I’m fine” when you’re anything but. The exhausting mental treadmill of not good enough, too much, don’t rock the boat. You’re tired of performing, tired of pretending, tired of carrying emotional baggage that was never yours to begin with. Here’s the truth: you don’t need more surface-level coping strategies. You need radical honesty—starting with yourself. This is about finally showing up as you—not the polished version, not the people-pleasing version, but the real, messy, powerful human underneath all those “shoulds.” That's where I come in.

I use a holistic approach (EMDR, IFS, Brainspotting, somatic therapy, & mindfulness) to facilitate brain-body healing.
Intensives available April 2025: Are you a highly sensitive, neurodivergent person who feels uncomfortable in your own skin? You’ve spent your life feeling different, struggling with a loud inner critic. In order to fit in, you’ve learned to mask your true self — your deepest emotions & thoughts, your natural ways of speaking & moving. You’re so used to the mask, you’re not sure who the real you is. After being told many times that you’re “too sensitive,” you don't know how to trust yourself. There are painful experiences you know you need to process. You’re ready to heal & feel more at peace with yourself. I’d love to support you.

Mindfulness-Based (MBCT) Therapists

How does mindfulness-based cognitive therapy work?

Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy originated in the work of John Kabat-Zinn of the University of Massachusetts Medical School. He developed mindfulness-based stress reduction, which is a technique found in yoga and meditation. MBCT is a combination of this type of stress reduction and cognitive behavioral therapy; it essentially quiets emotional distress through mindfulness, utilizing proper breathing and meditation. These techniques aim to bring the individual into the present moment when in a state of distress.

When do I know if I need treatment with mindfulness-based cognitive therapy?

If an individual’s mind is filled with emotional distress and general negativity, the person may feel trapped. A mindfulness-based cognitive therapist can help a person change their thinking patterns as well as their behavior through calm acceptance and compassion. This therapy can provide an individual with the coping skills needed for a healthier and more constructive life.

What should I expect from mindfulness-based cognitive therapy?

This therapy often takes place in group sessions. A therapist will work with the group as well as with each individual. Meditation and breathing exercises are core practices that aim to invite inquiry and discovery into a person’s troubled mental state. The objective is to identify and lessen negative thoughts and behaviors and move toward optimal health and productivity. The individual will see life in a more realistic way. This therapy is supportive, accepting, and warm.

Is mindfulness-based cognitive therapy effective?

Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy is evidence-based and effective. One study found that people with major depressive disorder have benefitted from this type of therapy; the person accepts their distressed thoughts and also moves into healthier patterns of thinking. This therapy also aims to move an individual away from automatic negative responses. This type of therapy can bring a person lifelong change, with higher levels of satisfaction, less stress, as well as positive emotional and behavioral habits.
