I have >5 years of experience assisting clients with mood disorders, addiction, trauma, grief and loss, interpersonal challenges, and other life stressors.
“Change is the only constant in life.” -Heraclitus. This quote captures a significant principle in the human experience. Every single change and transition that we experience is both greivable and celebrateable. I am passionate about imparting support to motivated and engaged individuals, with a special focus on caregivers, first responders, veterans, lgbtqia+ folks, and individuals with alternative lifestyles. I aspire to provide culturally competent, trauma informed care to people in every stage of adulthood for change that they desire, or are coping with.

I primarily work with clients experiencing depression, anxiety, posttraumatic stress (PTSD), grief/ loss, and issues with problematic substance use.
We live in a world that is becoming increasingly unmanageable and overwhelming, but it does not have to be this way. My belief is that anyone can more effectively navigate this world with the right tools and the right support. Rather than looking at any of these difficulties as a sign of weakness, a cornerstone of my practice is helping people understand that the struggles they face are rooted in unmet psychological needs. By responding more compassionately to these unmet needs, it becomes so much easier to navigate the ups and downs of daily life.

It's natural to feel waves of anxiety, depression, fear, loss, worry during this time of collective crisis.
I know therapy may be the last thing on your to-do list right now. But, taking care of your emotional/mental health, mindset and well-being is essential. It’s something you do have some control over. You can decide how you want to move through it and how you want to be with yourself and others. Social distancing doesn't mean emotional disconnection.

CBT was started as a self-help tool, and my goal for clients is to equip you with the tools you need to manage grief, sadness, anxiety, depression and relationships on your own.
Using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Ketamine/Psychedelic Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP), I seek to help my clients identify changes they can make in their thought habits and beliefs to help improve their mood and relationships. Grief Therapists
How long does therapy take for grief?
There is no exact timeline for grief counseling. Some people may start to feel better after just a few sessions, while others may take months or longer to feel relief. Some specific approaches, including some types of CBT, may involve a set number of sessions, or therapy may be open-ended until the patient determines they are ready to wrap up. Just as there is no right or wrong way to grieve, there is no right or wrong way to seek therapy for grief.
When should you seek therapy for grief?
Many people mistakenly believe that their grief needs to be debilitating or all-encompassing to warrant therapy. This is not the case. While people who experience severe, prolonged grief—particularly those who are considering self-harm or engaging in unhealthy substance use—are especially likely to benefit from therapy, so too are people whose grief is less intense but still interfering with well-being or daily functioning. In practice, almost anyone struggling to process a loss could benefit from grief counseling.
Can grief be managed without therapy?
Oftentimes, yes. Grief is a near-universal part of being human, and many find that their grief, while profound, does not stop them from participating in day-to-day life and steadily eases over time without outside help. For others, however, the harsh pain of early grief persists for months or years or leaves them unable to function. This group is especially likely to benefit from seeing a therapist, who can guide them through their grief and help them reconnect with the world.
What happens if grief is left untreated?
Because grief does not in itself necessitate therapy, untreated grief will often resolve on its own. However, for some people—particularly those who would qualify for a diagnosis of prolonged grief disorder—untreated grief can be a source of seemingly endless pain or lead them to withdraw from the world. In such cases, treatment can be indispensable, as it can help an individual adapt to the loss and start living again.
