You’re tired of replaying conversations in your head: worrying about what you said, what someone thought, whether you messed up another date, another meeting, another chance to connect. It doesn’t just feel uncomfortable. Your inner dialogue can turn critical and brutal for days afterward. You imagine never getting what you really want: connection, belonging, the feeling that you’re living instead of just existing. You don’t just want to like the person you see in the mirror: you want to feel confident that others see it too.

You might be here because something feels off—self-doubt, feeling unseen, or a sense you’re capable of more but can’t reach it. Many people I work with struggle to see their strengths or believe they’re worthy of care and connection. Therapy can be a place to slow down and explore who you are. I’m Bridget Rowe, a Denver-based therapist who believes you are the expert on your own life. I came to this work through education and social work, drawn to people’s stories and honoring how unique each person is. My style is warm and collaborative. Together, we’ll ask thoughtful questions, weigh options, and build confidence in choices.

You will find me to be an authentic & direct therapist that will focus on your values & strengths to guide the therapy process. My philosophy is that therapy is the space to get into how & why what you’re trying to do differently isn't working, (because you probably already have enough people willing to tell you) what you should be doing with your life. I won’t promise that therapy will make the hard stuff in your life go away, but what I know it can do is help you find a way through the hard stuff with meaning & help build resilience.

I believe most problems we experience are caused by a combination of two factors; carrying around too much from the past, and not taking good care of ourselves. The symptoms of Depression, Anxiety, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and Substance Abuse can all manifest from not cleaning up the past and from practicing poor self care in in the present. Using a variety of approaches including, Psychotherapy, Hypnosis, EMDR, and Process Work, we will together to shift this balance. As people get better at nurturing themselves and begin to let go of the weight of the past, they feel better.

Seeking counseling can be a difficult first step. It's hard for us to acknowledge our pain, and often we feel guilty about it. Feelings aren't good or bad, they just are--the consequences of those feelings are what we can influence. Counseling is important because it can provide a safe place to speak the truth about what we are going through. Our truth is powerful and can be a motivator for making changes to how we feel and what we do. Counseling can help us identify our values, goals, & beliefs and to harness them to help us heal.

Schedule now through my website in my bio! A therapeutic relationship is truly one of a kind. I strive to create a collaborative environment where my clients can explore their internal world with grace. I am not the expert on the lives of my clients nor do I expect them to have all the answers regarding why they do the things they do, what function certain behaviors serve, or identify what an emotional consequence resulted from any number of situations. I strive to promote self-care, self-compassion, and a sense of curiosity. I am a trauma therapist and have adopted a rather broad definition of trauma.

My ideal client struggles with disconnection from who they truly are as a person. Memories, experiences, beliefs, thoughts, and emotional hurdles reinforce this disconnection, and manifest as problems such as trauma, depression, anxiety, and addiction. This client's needs are to be understood, to not get more or less help than they are asking for, to be trusted and respected, but most of all, to find that connection they have craved for so long. Whether that means reconnecting with parts of themselves they have lost long ago, reconnecting with loved ones, or developing a greater connection to an idea, nature, or a higher power.

Gambling Therapists
How do gambling rehabilitation programs work?
There are both inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation programs. However, for some individuals, an outpatient facility may not offer enough hands-on care, and for other individuals, an inpatient facility may be too much. Both types of care have knowledgeable health professionals including physicians (in the case of residential programs), psychologists, counselors, psychotherapists, and recovered mentors.

How do gambling 12-step programs combined with psychotherapy work?
Abstinence and maintenance are key for 12-step gambling disorder programs. Individuals in a 12-step group rely on each other for support and accountability. In addition, there is often a spiritual element to these programs, whereby belief in a higher power can help the individual overcome their tendencies. If an individual genuinely wants to cease gambling, attending a 12-step program along with regular psychotherapy can be highly effective.

How long does therapy take for gambling disorder?
Recovering from gambling disorder takes time and effort. There’s no precise timeline for treatment, but a person can see change if they stick with therapy and if they have the will and desire to stop. Treatment for gambling disorder requires honesty in therapy, a commitment to understanding triggers, as well as the development of coping skills. Making lifestyle changes is also important, such as staying away from lotteries, online gambling, and casinos.

Is relapse a problem for those with a gambling disorder?
Gambling disorder is often chronic and can be life-long; therefore relapse may present a problem for some individuals. But effective treatment can bring a person’s life under control. To remain healthy and on track, the individual may need to regularly check in with their support group or psychotherapist. Frequently refreshing their tools of recovery can be helpful.
