My therapy approach is open and honest. I show up as both a human and psychologist, and do not emphasize a professional power hierarchy. I am an advocate for racial justice, LGBTQ+ equality and rights, and human rights more broadly. I am not value neutral on such topics. It is important for my clients to know that my full-time job is as an Assistant Professor of Practice at University of Denver’s Counseling Psychology Program where I teach and supervise students learning to be therapists. Therefore, my private practice is part-time and I have limited flexibility for scheduling.

Connection is at the heart of human growth and well-being. How we relate to ourselves and those we care about shapes our sense of safety, support, and confidence. I provide therapy for children, teens, families, and individuals to strengthen relationships, reduce tension, and foster emotional understanding.
With children and teens, I use developmentally responsive, play-based approaches to help them express emotions, develop coping skills and build resilience. In family therapy, I focus on patterns of interaction, communication, and emotional responsiveness to support stronger connections.

My primary role as a therapist is to create a safe space that encourages clients in the practice of self-compassion & internal safety. Shame is the antithesis to growth & healing, making it feel unsafe to know and love ourselves. Much of my work with clients involves identifying and deconstructing the negative beliefs about themselves that keep them from experiencing inner peace & freedom. I am committed to listening, believing, and challenging clients on their journey toward healing and growth. My "ideal client" is one who is ready to do the very courageous work of knowing and loving their self.

If you have been holding everything together on the outside but feel overwhelmed, disconnected, or exhausted on the inside, you are not alone.
Many of the people I work with are used to being the strong one. The one others rely on. But underneath that strength can be stress, anxiety, relationship struggles, and a quiet sense of loneliness that is hard to explain.
Therapy with me is a space where you do not have to perform, fix everything, or have it all figured out. You can show up exactly as you are, messy, uncertain, or overwhelmed, and we will work through it together.

I am passionate about helping adolescents and adults navigate attachment wounds, childhood trauma, generational trauma, and every day life stressors. I also have experience in working with a variety of mental health issues.
Growing up as a Hispanic woman in a mixed family has given me the chance to listen and to learn from many different experiences. Through the stories people have shared with me, along with their challenges, perspectives, and hopes, I’ve come to better appreciate the many ways we each move through the world.
