As a cancer survivor I love helping others navigate the issues surrounding illness, treatment, pain and all that goes along with that frightening journey.
Using a patient and gentle approach, I help clients identify their problem areas. Often there is hidden grief: grief caused by childhood pain, divorce, job loss, low self esteem, trauma and abuse, death and loss. We work together to resolve old wounds which creates more happy, successful lives.

Life can be a lot to handle sometimes. In the blink of an eye, things can happen that irrevocably change our lives. Events like a cancer diagnosis, the death of a loved one, job loss, a breakup, sexual assault, or even a car accident may leave you with trauma, anxiety, depression, and grief that degrades your health and quality of life. Often, it is many accumulating events that overwhelm us with chronic stress and push us past our current ability to cope. If you are in that place where hope, happiness, and the life you would like to live seems impossible to reach, I can help you learn the skills needed to cope and build resiliency.

I help clients with anxiety, depression, stress, self-esteem, self-care, personal exploration, spiritual exploration, trauma, empowerment, life transitions such as career, divorce, grief, dying, death, women's/men's issues and support loved ones of individuals diagnosed with cancer or a life-threatening disease.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Candidate, National Certified Counselor, Reiki Master, Medium, Shamanic practitioner, Meditation teacher, Spiritual guide and Life coach. Throughout my life I've had experiences that led me to search for more than the traditional therapeutic approach to heal. I earned my Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health and owned a spiritual business five years prior to earning my degree. I have witnessed the benefits from a clinical approach and have also seen profound healing from a spiritual approach. I believe that for one to truly heal, there needs to be healing in the mind, body, heart and soul.

Some people have called me the teen whisperer. I have worked with kids for over 26 years in many different communities. I spent several years in Denver working with kids in the legal system or who had been expelled from school. The last 8 years I have been in a school counseling role. I am very passionate about helping teens find their way. These are rough years and today our kids are struggling more than ever with mental health. There is a lot of unresolved trauma and helping them unpack this can be so healing. I am also a cancer survivor and mother of 3 so I understand resilience and parenting.

I work with clients facing/surviving cancer , caregivers, depression, anxiety, self-esteem, grief, and end-of-life.
My hope for my clients is that they find this space a place of warmth, kindness, & feel heard. For the past decade I have worked closely with clients going through or supporting someone with a cancer diagnosis. Which brings many facets to the space, therapy is not a one size fits all and I want to always leave room for what feels most authentic to you.

You may be aware your body, mind, and spirit are speaking to one another, and that your past might be influencing your present, but are struggling to make sense of it all. Maybe you are noticing your thoughts or relationships running into the same patterns and cycles. Maybe you are curious about spirituality and somatic (body-based) work and what messages your body's symptoms are trying to communicate to you. If you are seeking to create balance in your life, rather than the exhausting pursuit of perfection, I would love to work with you.

Finding an affirmative therapist can be a difficult & complex process. For many of us, living as our authentic selves can be challenging. Sometimes there are multiple barriers & difficult decisions ahead. You don’t have to navigate it all alone. Whether gender identity or sexuality is a focus of treatment or you're dealing with other unrelated things, a therapist with a solid knowledge base & understanding of your needs & background is crucial. Many clients work with me because of my expertise & 10+ years of experience, or because they prefer working with a therapist who has first-hand knowledge of trans/queer identities.

How can I find a therapist in Denver?

Search for nearby therapists or counselors by inputting your city, town, or suburb; or zip code; or a provider’s name into the search bar. From there, you can filter providers by the issues they treat, cost, insurance, gender, and other factors to find providers who are well-suited to your needs. To navigate between locations within the same country, enter a new city or zip code into the search bar.

Learn more about how to find a therapist.

Is online therapy a good option?

Therapy conducted online or over the phone can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your zip code.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?

Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In the United States, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.

What type of therapist is right for me?

Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist, psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.

Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?

The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors. Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.

What type of therapy is right for me?

The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.

Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?

Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.
