Parenting is hard. Harder than you anticipated, and it’s clear that your child is struggling. Whether it’s at school, home, or in their relationships with others, you’re concerned about their behavior and know something has to change for all of you to enjoy life more. You're frustrated, exhausted, defeated. Frustrated over the lack of harmony, exhausted from their school calling to report behavior concerns, defeated because you feel helpless. Now, imagine your child feels the same way. Despite how they may show it, your child likely also feels frustrated, exhausted, and defeated. Navigating parenthood is hard - but you're not alone.

Working with me is pretty straightforward: whatever you need to do is what we will do. If you’re not yet sure what that is, that’s ok too. I mainly operate from a solution focused realm where we can collaborate on how to get you functioning in a realistically better place. I don’t believe therapy is a magic wand that one waves over a client where you don’t know what’s going on. You’re the expert on your own life, culture, and existence. I’m here to support that because your lived experience is what matters.

I help individuals and people in all types of relationships build relationships that honor autonomy, integrity, and genuine connection. Many of the people I work with are successful in their professional lives but find that old patterns still show up in love: people-pleasing, fear of abandonment, difficulty expressing needs, or getting caught in dynamics that feel controlling or chaotic. We identify the learned scripts that keep you stuck, strengthen your ability to regulate emotions, practice clear communication, and support you in building relationships where liberation is a joyful expression of love

I specialize in helping people with OCD and anxiety who feel stuck in cycles of intrusive thoughts, rumination, reassurance seeking, perfectionism, people pleasing, fear of making the wrong decision, and other compulsive patterns. Many of my clients find themselves overanalyzing thoughts, replaying situations, trying to avoid mistakes, or searching for certainty, only to feel even more trapped in the cycle. Even when relief comes, it tends to be temporary. Living in this loop can feel exhausting, isolating, and emotionally draining. In my practice, I help people break free from these patterns so they can reconnect with their lives,

You may feel stuck, overwhelmed, grieving, or carrying experiences that still live in your body long after they happened. Many of the people I work with are thoughtful, sensitive, and deeply aware of the world around them, yet unsure how to move forward or find relief. You might be navigating loss, trauma, or relationship dynamics that feel hard to make sense of, moving through a major life transition, or simply wanting a deeper understanding of yourself—and seeking not just symptom relief, but insight, growth, and a steadier sense of yourself.

Committing to know all parts of yourself can be a tender and transformative journey. I often work with individuals whose identities are layered, fluid, or expansive—such as multiracial, multicultural, and queer folx navigating liminal or “in-between” spaces—as well as anyone exploring questions of meaning, belonging, and self-acceptance. Together, we co-create a supportive, relational space to gently notice whatever thoughts, feelings, or bodily sensations arise in the present moment through embodied mindfulness. I support you in openly witnessing and meeting the many facets of who you are with curiosity, care, and compassion.

I am passionate about supporting individuals navigating symptoms of trauma, anxiety, codependency, ADHD, grief, and more. I believe that one's perceptions and stories about themselves and their environment is the key to understanding their mental and emotional state. Increasing awareness, acceptance, curiosity and distress tolerance, and taking a different viewpoint can unlock the secret to contentment. However, this is likely only truly possible after processing traumas and past experiences that have shaped one's conceptual point of view. I am EMDR trained and IFS informed, and I lean on these techniques to facilitate deep healing.

Hi, I'm Rima! Starting therapy can feel vulnerable, especially when you’ve spent so much of your life holding things together for everyone else. Many of my clients come to therapy feeling emotionally overwhelmed, disconnected from themselves, anxious in relationships, or exhausted from constantly overthinking and carrying the weight of others’ expectations. Together, we create a space where you do not have to perform, minimize your feelings, or navigate things alone.

Does insurance cover therapy, prescriptions and other behavioral health services?
In general, yes. Laws in the U.S. require insurers to cover essential behavioral health care at the same level as other health care services. Most health plans require a medical diagnosis and treatments that are evidence based and medically essential. This means that life coaching and alternative therapies are not covered, nor is therapy without a diagnosis. Call the number on the back or your insurance card or visit your insurance company's website to review your Summary of Benefits. If you have insurance through your employer, your Human Resources department may also be able to answer questions.

How much does therapy cost with insurance?
The cost of therapy depends on your region, how much training and experience your therapist has, and the type of treatment. The rate for talk therapy generally falls between $100 and $250. For a client seeing an in-network provider, the cost of therapy is often similar to the cost of other health care services. Clients pay co-pays and may need to satisfy a plan’s deductible before benefits kick in.

What is the difference between In-Network and Out-of-Network insurance coverage?
An in-network provider has contracted with an insurer to get paid directly for services, and to accept the insurer’s rate of compensation. Clients are responsible for deductibles and copays. If a therapist is out of network, that means that the client pays the therapist directly for services at the therapist’s regular fee. Out-of-Network providers often give clients a receipt so that they can file for partial reimbursement with their insurance company.

Is it difficult to find an In-Network therapist?
It is not unusual for therapists to limit the number of insurance patients in their practice, so it’s important to check in-network availability when you schedule your first appointment. In regions and times where therapy is in high demand it may take longer to get scheduled with an in-network therapist.

What is the difference between HMO and PPO insurance plans?
HMO health plans only cover in-network services, there is no reimbursement for out-of-network providers. PPO plans often cover both in- and out-of-network services, though the client may pay more for out-of-network services.

What is a Superbill?
A superbill is a receipt for therapy services. It provides all the information required by insurance companies to reimburse you for out-of-network services, including the diagnostic codes for your care, the amount paid, and the dates and duration of care.

Does insurance cover Online therapy?
Many therapists who shifted their practice to online therapy during the pandemic have kept that arrangement. And most insurers continue to cover telehealth services, with a few exceptions. Preventive care (such as an annual depression screening) is often required to be in-person to be covered, and some states require prescribers of controlled substances to see those patients in person.

Does insurance cover Group therapy?
Many insurance plans provide coverage for group therapy provided there is a medical diagnosis for group members, but there are some noteworthy exceptions. For example, Medicare does not always cover group therapy. Group therapy tends to cost less than individual therapy.

Does insurance cover Couples therapy?
Most insurance companies do not cover the cost of couples therapy because there is no medical diagnosis or medically necessary treatment. However, a few plans will offer a limited benefit, so it is still worth checking with your insurance company. Sometimes therapy is covered for a couple when one person has a diagnosis and another family member joins them for joint therapy, but it is considered therapy for the medical condition that includes a family member as a listener or helper, not couples counseling. Without insurance, most clients pay between $100-300 per 60-90 min session for couples therapy. Often clients can find classes or workshops that make it more affordable to work on their relationship. And some employers offer benefit plans that help defray the cost of couples therapy. Learn more about Insurance Coverage and Finding Affordable Therapy
