I view psychotherapy as a process of exploration and affirmation of one's life path, including the experiences and wisdom gained along this journey. I see my role as a therapist as that of a witness and source of support and knowledge, joining with you to help facilitate the individual process of developing a deeper sense of self-awareness, achieving personal growth and transformation: to create the life you want.
I specialize in psychotherapy and EMDR/EFT for women to address/resolve trauma associated with: Domestic Violence, interpersonal coercion, abuse, victimization; crime victim trauma; anxiety & depression; couple relationships; African-American/multicultural issues; personal development; stress & anger management; work-related issues & mediation.
The therapeutic modalities and techniques I use are eclectic: EMDR; EFT; Cognitive-Behavioral; Mindfulness; Psychoeducation-including developing effective Life Skills; Expressive therapy and Bibliotherapy. I provide individual and couple therapy sessions. I offer late afternoon and early evening appointments.
