I have twenty years of experience as a social worker, with the past ten specifically as a therapist helping adults with trauma, grief and ADHD.
Personally and professionally, I believe that human relationships have the most capacity for damage and most capacity for healing. I practice under the ethos that the best indicator of successful therapy is the relationship built between therapist and client. Our unique relationship serves as a container to this time of your life and the issues that are ready to be seen, felt and metabolized. Within that container, you will be able to experience yourself within a safe relationship and know the felt sense of being connected to yourself while being witnessed by another.

I will expertly guide you as you feel your body-shaking, soul crushing grief and rage.
Angry? Irritated by - every - little - thing - they do, while also feeling like you’re overreacting? What would it be like to feel safe with your anger for the first time? I will help you create a relationship with this rage, your inner power, that feels creative, exciting, and is uniquely yours. You probably weren’t taught how to move the rage through and out of your body in a productive, healthy, and empowering way. Instead, you were likely told that you’re embarrassing the family with your outbursts. You suppressed all that energy down until it sucked you into depression and even suicidal thoughts. You felt like a freak.

I provide therapy and psychological assessment for individuals navigating life transitions, relationship challenges, loss, and meaning-making.
I believe that change is challenging because we tend to see what we already know. The therapeutic process should offer a partnership where new ways of seeing and experiencing emerge through the relational space. My approach is trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and evidence-based, with a foundation in psychodynamic relational work.

Grief Therapists
How long does therapy take for grief?
There is no exact timeline for grief counseling. Some people may start to feel better after just a few sessions, while others may take months or longer to feel relief. Some specific approaches, including some types of CBT, may involve a set number of sessions, or therapy may be open-ended until the patient determines they are ready to wrap up. Just as there is no right or wrong way to grieve, there is no right or wrong way to seek therapy for grief.
When should you seek therapy for grief?
Many people mistakenly believe that their grief needs to be debilitating or all-encompassing to warrant therapy. This is not the case. While people who experience severe, prolonged grief—particularly those who are considering self-harm or engaging in unhealthy substance use—are especially likely to benefit from therapy, so too are people whose grief is less intense but still interfering with well-being or daily functioning. In practice, almost anyone struggling to process a loss could benefit from grief counseling.
Can grief be managed without therapy?
Oftentimes, yes. Grief is a near-universal part of being human, and many find that their grief, while profound, does not stop them from participating in day-to-day life and steadily eases over time without outside help. For others, however, the harsh pain of early grief persists for months or years or leaves them unable to function. This group is especially likely to benefit from seeing a therapist, who can guide them through their grief and help them reconnect with the world.
What happens if grief is left untreated?
Because grief does not in itself necessitate therapy, untreated grief will often resolve on its own. However, for some people—particularly those who would qualify for a diagnosis of prolonged grief disorder—untreated grief can be a source of seemingly endless pain or lead them to withdraw from the world. In such cases, treatment can be indispensable, as it can help an individual adapt to the loss and start living again.
