I design treatment for every individual based on their own unique strengths and needs, and once we have built a foundation of trust and mutual respect, I aspire to help you and/or your child build coping skills, reduce symptoms, and improve quality of life.
Do you or a loved one feel overcome by stress, worry, or sadness? Have things become more difficult than they used to be, or you’re struggling to keep up with life’s demands? Maybe you’re grappling with how to find work-life balance, improve your self-esteem, or get through a major life transition. Whatever obstacles you or a loved one are facing, therapy is a resource that can help us feel supported and empowered, building our capacity for resilience and self-compassion. I am here to support you and would love to be the person to help.

I have almost 10 years working with children and youth with disabilities and am in my third year as a licensed school social worker in Colorado.
The clients I serve come as they are so I can meet them where they're at. They may be neurotypical or neurodivergent. They may struggle with anxiety, depression, behavioral issues, disordered eating, etc. They are seeking support and they might not know where to start. They want to heal their traumas and utilize coping skills in order to self regulate. They want to build positive connection and are a collaborative partner in their treatment. They are resilient. They are willing to accept support even when they don't feel like they need it.

Are you experiencing symptoms of anxiety or depression from living in this difficult world? Perhaps you've experienced your own personal trauma, or are seeking to understand and find joy in identities that the majority population "others" or discriminates against. I enjoy working with people across the lifespan, especially those in the queer community who are seeking relief and are ready to explore ways to show up with more embodied joy and liberation. As a queer therapist, I am also dedicated to changing the stigma around mental health from "what is wrong with you", to "what happened to you?"

My ideal clients come into my office hoping to explore and better understand themselves and others, foster healthy and happy relationships, shift ineffective behavioral and relational patterns, and work towards a life that they consider fulfilled and worth living. Let’s focus on symptom reduction and personal growth. Change can be terrifying and at times feel impossible. Let’s work together to understand what that balance looks like for you.

Child Therapists

Do I need to attend therapy with my child?

Parents are an integral part of a child’s therapy, but the specifics of their involvement vary. If your child is young, you may attend most or all sessions; if your child is older, you may attend a few sessions or none; sometimes a therapist may ask you to have a session on your own. Whatever the arrangement, you should expect to work collaboratively with the therapist, your child, and your family members to take steps to help support your child.

How long are sessions with child therapists?

Children’s therapy sessions can last 30 minutes, 45 minutes, or 60 minutes. The length of the session may depend on your child’s age and the type of therapy practiced. You can discuss this with therapists you consult and the one you ultimately move forward with.

How do I get a child to agree to seek therapy?

The best approach is to have an open-ended conversation with your child about how they’re doing and what they might be struggling with. When you raise therapy, discuss the concept in an age-appropriate way, for example explaining that a therapist’s job is to help kids handle their hard or uncomfortable feelings. Frame therapy positively, as an opportunity to explore and build emotional skills—it’s an important tool in the toolbox to help kids feel their best.

How can I tell if a therapist is a good fit for my child?

A child needs to feel comfortable opening up about their thoughts and feelings, so if your child feels a sense of comfort, ease, and trust with their therapist, that’s a great sign. In addition, a therapist is a good fit for your child if the two can communicate well together; a clinician should be able to communicate clearly, effectively, and in an age-appropriate manner.
