My approaches to counseling include cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), person-centered and solution focused therapy. Counseling can be intimidating. I offer specialized eating disorder, mood and trauma therapy to adults and teens.
I believe that admirable qualities exist in all of us and in the courageous human condition to gravitate towards personal betterment even in the midst of hardship. While we strive towards progress, our thoughts and behaviors can fall into rigid patterns. I enable individuals to break through unhealthy habits, extend out of comfort zones, overcome challenges, rediscover internal awareness, and ultimately reach authentic rewards. Each person is their own expert and I will empower you to get there.

Some of my specialties include individual therapy with teens and adults , therapy with domestic violence victims, family therapy, co-parenting therapy, and working with LGBTQIA populations.
I exclusively offer weekend appointments in order to make therapy more accessible to busy professionals and families. You might find you are reliving the same patterns and cycles over and over again in your family, your relationships, your career, or your behaviors. Likely this has caused worry, hurt, anger, or feelings of sadness. Through exploring these patterns or themes, we will work together to gain insight and understand their cause. New skills and strategies will be gained as well, so that you, or your family, can move forward towards happiness.

I have over 10-years of experience working with adults through challenging experiences. Some of these experiences are ones many of us will share at some point; loss of a loved one, career change, health crisis. Unfortunately, some experiences are ones that we would probably not have imagined; addiction, incarceration, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder. My role as a counselor is to explore and grow the resiliency of my clients. To remind them they can survive and thrive through crisis.

I primarily work with adults experiencing anxiety, anxiety-related disorders, & trauma.
So often our minds torment us by going over and over the same thoughts, memories, or images. In our culture we strive to be so high-functioning that we have no time for self-care and even struggle to get adequate sleep. Without any reprieve, anxiety can make the smallest tasks seem daunting and convince us that we must do it all and do it all perfectly! We find ourselves changing and not being the person we truly know ourselves to be. If you can relate, let’s talk.

I work with adults and couples who are motivated to know themselves in a deeper and more compassionate way, and are ready to experience real success during their time in therapy.
You want better relationships with your partner, your family, and most importantly, with yourself. Although you've found success in many areas of life, you're struggling to adjust to a recent life change like a move to a new place, the birth of a child, or the start or end of an important relationship. Maybe you've found yourself experiencing more stress than you're used to, you're close to burnout, or you find it really difficult to prioritize your own sense of well-being over others.

I work with somatic, nature, and mindfulness-based practices to support adults , adolescents, and children in navigating trauma, depression, anxiety, and life transitions.
I am passionate about helping others cultivate a well of inner resources and tools to navigate the challenges of life, seeing each individual’s well-being as contributing to our collective healing. We aren’t meant to find our way through on our own. I’m so happy to see you here. My approach is first founded on developing a supportive space of acceptance and understanding, from which therapy is collaboratively tailored to your individual needs.Together, we will work together to experience and connect with emotions, identify patterns, explore the roots of limiting beliefs, discover a sense of purpose, and uncover your innate wisdom.

I specialize in working with adults and occasionally couples struggling with trauma/PTSD, relationship issues, and depression/anxiety.
Carol Burnett once said, "Only I can change my life. No one can change it for me." I firmly believe that each of us has the capability to make changes in our lives to be a better, happier, and more capable version of ourselves. Therapy is about working together to find this version - whether it be changing one's thoughts, beliefs, behaviors, or ideas to overcome issues that might involve trauma, fractured relationships or negative life experiences.

College students, new adults , women, parents, and professionals are all good fits for my style.
Hello! As a licensed professional counselor candidate, we’ll work together to find an inner sense of balance in your life. Sometimes, that looks like practicing mindfulness or utilizing somatic tools to manage challenging internal states–anxiety, depression, grief or sadness. Other times, that may look like exploring the intricacies of a difficult situation or relationship. Ultimately, the goal is to come back to a sense of joy.

I treat adults experiencing anxiety, burn out, depression and PTSD.
A healthy sense of humor is just as much a bridge to another soul as it is a shield against the unbearable. In my office, clients often laugh as much as they cry or express anger, and I think that's important in the business of healing. What do you want to heal? Is there something about your relationship with a loved one that feels uncomfortable or unsafe? Do you need a non-judgmental space to help you figure out what you want or who you are?

How can I find a therapist in Northwest, Denver?

Search for nearby therapists or counselors by inputting your city, town, or suburb; or zip code; or a provider’s name into the search bar. From there, you can filter providers by the issues they treat, cost, insurance, gender, and other factors to find providers who are well-suited to your needs. To navigate between locations within the same country, enter a new city or zip code into the search bar.

Learn more about how to find a therapist.

Is online therapy a good option?

Therapy conducted online or over the phone can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your zip code.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?

Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In the United States, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.

What type of therapist is right for me?

Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist, psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.

Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?

The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors. Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.

What type of therapy is right for me?

The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.

Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?

Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.
