It’s an honor and a privilege to support my clients through in-home therapy. I empower clients to navigate challenges and difficulties in their lives at times when they need more support or during a transitional period. These difficulties may include chronic pain, ongoing health issues, loss of independence, memory impairment, grief, depression or anxiety. Many of my clients are older adults and people who are disabled. I am experienced in assisting my clients with identifying barriers in everyday life and working on goals together, so that as a team we can improve their quality of life. I also provide case management as needed.
I have a passion working with men and women looking for insight and understanding in to their feelings and behaviors. So often we walk through life not really understanding why we feel the way we do or why we are interacting with our loved ones, coworkers, or friends the way we are. We all have been impacted by our families of origin and I believe that when we make meaning of our experiences, we then have the emotional freedom to choose different actions and ways of living. If you want to be an active participant in your life, rather than feeling like life is just happening to you, then I invite you to take this journey with me!
Do you ever feel like you're existing but not living? Do you feel like you're fighting to feel joy or avoid pain in life? To live a full and happy life we need to learn to manage times of discomfort and pain. Our feelings and experiences are here to teach us what we need as individuals and how to move forward intentionally. Together we can explore how to grow in our challenges and struggles and how to live more fully. I have treated clients who feel paralyzed by their anxiety or depression or those who need a focused problem approach.

Do you lie awake at night, sheets twisting beneath you, worst-case scenarios running through your head? On social media, you’re bombarded with horrific news of terrorist attacks, plane crashes, mass shootings. The unremarkable posts hurt just as much. Captions like “My mom is the best! I’d be lost without her!” make you clench up inside, heat coursing through your veins. People tell you to “Stay strong,” but they have no idea what you’ve been through. After experiencing trauma, nothing feels safe or certain. You want to curl up on the couch and push everything else away.
Are you struggling with consensual nonmonogamy or BDSM relationships? Diverse sexuality and relationship structures can be ideal for some people and a complete disaster for others, there is no one-size-fits-all when it comes to relationships. It is not important to me if my clients end up practicing polyamory, monogamy, or something else. My primary concern is assisting people in considering their own needs and boundaries, and crafting relationships that bring them the most satisfaction with the least pain.
I'm so glad you made it to my page and are taking the first steps to invest in your wellbeing! I believe that seeking out therapy is a courageous step in working towards overall wellness and positive mental health. I hope to provide a space for individuals to present their thoughts and needs in a validating and understanding environment. I will incorporate values of acceptance, empathy, empowerment, resilience, non-judgmental awareness and self-compassion.
As a teenager or young adult, navigating life can be challenging as your life may be filled with opportunities, choices, heartache and transitions. You may wonder how to navigate this time in your life. I can help you develop the skills and build your strength and courage to survive and thrive.
Relationship habits with our intimate partners can create familiarity and easefulness—they can also inhibit a fresh and fulfilling way of being together. When relationship shortcuts create disconnection or even hurtful interactions, we feel misunderstood and not seen for our true hopes and intentions. I support my clients to slow down and connect in the present moment where the power resides to develop a whole-body intimacy with a partner. It is in the here and now where you can reawaken the creativity and integrity of your connection.
My passion in psychotherapy is working with adults who struggle with behavioral and mental health issues, including trauma, anxiety ADHD and a variety of personality disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder and addictions. My therapeutic approach is drawn from mindfulness-based therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, behavioral therapy, and a humanistic approach. I also offer Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Exposure and Ritual/Response Prevention (EXRP) as well as EMDR and Prolong Exposure (PE) sessions for trauma treatment. I am a Doctor of Psychology in Clinical Psychology with a Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology.

Let's discover your hidden strengths so that you can face your fears and break the patterns that keep you stuck. Transitions are hard, whether they are expected or not. From child to adolescent/teen, high school to college, and from college to “adulthood.” Many transitions brings about changes in mood and feelings, as well as changes in the family dynamic. Whether you are a parent struggling to communicate better with your child/teen, an older child/teen trying to navigate your burgeoning independence, or an emerging adult who is confused and overwhelmed by life, my hope is to provide a space to gain clarity, peace, and a sense of relief.
Perhaps you are experiencing issues because of trauma, anxiety, depression, panic attacks, addiction issues or difficulties in relationships. Maybe you want to experience fewer panic attacks, kick an unhealthy habit, or develop healthier ways to deal with overwhelming anxiety and depression. You want to be able to have fun while you are out with friends and family, but often find yourself avoiding activities while watching everyone else through Instagram or Facebook. We can work together to overcome these barriers and help you to live a life that is fulfilling and has meaning.
I'm looking for motivated clients who may be experiencing the effects of anxiety, depression, and/or current or past traumas. Especially in the arenas of self-esteem and self-compassion, I help clients to see themselves from different perspectives in order to move into healthier emotional spaces and be able to manage their place in the world in a more proactive way. I see adults, teens, and children over the age of 5.
Do you feel a loss of identity, purpose, sense of self, or interest in life? Are you dissatisfied with your goals, your job, or your relationships? Do you struggle with sadness, anxiety, disturbing thoughts, hallucinations, or self destructive behavior? Have you experienced a trauma that has shattered your sense of the world? Just like physical pain indicates that something may be wrong with our bodies, psychological problems tell us that we are suffering on a deep, emotional level. Anxiety, depression, relationship problems, and other symptoms are signs that we are experiencing psychological pain for an underlying reason.

Welcome and congratulations! You have just taken a forward step towards change! Here is a snapshot of my professional background. I earned my Master's degree in counseling from Adams State University, Alamosa, Colorado, and I am licensed by the State of Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies. I have over a decade of experience providing therapeutic interventions and counseling services to individuals, couples, and families of varied economic and cultural backgrounds. The "human condition" knows no specific demographic.
I have provided counseling services in Denver since completing graduate school in 1999. I worked in both pediatric and adult medical settings, including hematology/oncology, emergency trauma and hospice. For 8 years, I worked at a school and community based medical clinic providing psychotherapy to all ages. I have also enjoyed private practice over the years. In each setting I work, including private practice, my therapeutic modality varies, but I always come from a strengths based/empowerment approach.
