I am especially committed to working with adolescents and young adults who have experienced childhood trauma, complicated family dynamics, anxiety, and neurodiversity.
Past traumatic experiences can significantly impact how we function in the present, affecting our relationships and overall sense of self. This can lead to feelings of disconnection, being stuck, or emotionally flooded. I aim to provide a safe space that encourages self-exploration for processing past wounds, ultimately leading to self-acceptance. Having worked in diverse settings such as schools, private practice, and the justice system, I understand that the human experience can be painful, and no one should have to endure this pain alone.

I specialize in anxiety, depression, trauma, marriage & family ; & am certified in DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy) and am trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing).
Clients who are struggling but wanting to not only heal, but also grow have the potential for being extremely powerful people. We have all gone through difficult times, experiencing anxiety, fear, depression, and hopelessness. However, if we have healed, we look back and see those times as hard, but some of the most powerful in our lives. Hearts can become strong, marriages can be healed and become euphoric, and our families can become strong, powerful, and beautiful. If you have a Christian background, I can help you become stronger in your faith. If you want to become a stronger leader, I am also an executive coach.

Throughout my time as a professional, I have grown to understand the significance surrounding connecting childhood learnings and patterns to problems currently arising within my client’s world. I believe we can't change our current situations if we don't know what is driving the behavior or thought process. Starting at the source and establishing patterns and connections is vital in healing, growing, and creating new behaviors and ways of thinking. I often utilize DBT, CBT, attachment theory, and family systems models within the therapy space.

I use my training in Internal Family Systems and Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing, along with somatic-based work, to address deeper patterns that leave you feeling stuck.
Do you feel stuck in old and unhelpful patterns? Have you tried other forms of healing and still desire more growth? I use a holistic approach to therapy to create lasting change in the mind, body, and soul. My goal is to provide a non-judgmental space to observe and explore the impact of your struggles mentally, physically, and spiritually. We will work together to access your internal resources, process your life experiences, and create new pathways to growth. We all have the internal capacity to heal and transform, many times we simply need guidance to help us access our own unequivocal power.

Family Therapy

What do family therapists do?

A family therapist facilitates the process of understanding and improving how a family functions. The therapist will help family members develop empathy for one another. They’ll seek to understand existing patterns, misunderstandings, and conflicts that arise, in order to help the family arrive at a realistic, unified understanding and develop the coping skills they need to build stronger relationships.

How long does therapy for families take to work?

Therapy manifests differently in every family; a common time frame is 12 weekly sessions, but some families may see improvement after just a few weeks. Families should discuss their goals with the therapist at the beginning of the process and periodically revisit those goals to assess their progress together.

How can you encourage a family member to attend family therapy?

You can encourage family members to attend therapy by expressing with both love and concern the challenges you see and explaining how a therapist could help the family navigate those challenges together. An outside perspective can help everyone feel heard, get on the same page, and develop new skills. If family members are still hesitant, it may be helpful to emphasize that family therapy is short-term—it won’t last forever.

Is therapy for families effective?

Family therapy can significantly improve family dynamics and relationships. Research suggests that family therapy can help individuals understand their role in the family, communicate and solve problems together, reduce conflict and draw boundaries when necessary, and develop coping skills for stressors, major life changes, and mental or physical illnesses within the family.
