I work with somatic, nature, and mindfulness-based practices to support adults, adolescents, and children in navigating trauma, depression, anxiety, and life transitions.
I am passionate about helping others cultivate a well of inner resources and tools to navigate the challenges of life, seeing each individual’s well-being as contributing to our collective healing. We aren’t meant to find our way through on our own. I’m so happy to see you here. My approach is first founded on developing a supportive space of acceptance and understanding, from which therapy is collaboratively tailored to your individual needs.Together, we will work together to experience and connect with emotions, identify patterns, explore the roots of limiting beliefs, discover a sense of purpose, and uncover your innate wisdom.

I am a licensed clinical psychologist with over 15 years of experience working with children , adolescents, adults, and families. I have specialized expertise in anxiety and family systems. My clinical work is grounded in evidenced-based treatment approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure with Response Prevention, Parent Management Training, and Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT). During care, I give ample attention to the family system as I have found understanding the context in which one lives provides insight for how to optimize symptom reduction and enhance overall functioning.

Many parents/caregivers have questions regarding their child ’s development, behavior, or academic performance, while others are seeking guidance and support. Some parents/caregivers are referred by a teacher, pediatrician, medical specialist, or psychotherapist, but are uncertain as to why their child needs a neuropsychological evaluation. Regardless of what brought your family to our practice, feel comfort in knowing that you have come to the right place and that our team is dedicated to helping you reach your goals.

I am aware that parents who bring their children to me are passionate about wanting to help them and that they are their child ’s greatest resource, thus I work as closely and collaboratively as possible with parents in order to share my impressions, perspectives and insights.
In treating children , adolescents, families and adults for thirty years, my style or approach has evolved to become increasingly more relaxed, down-to-earth, active, and-at its core-respectful. It is not based on giving advice or otherwise suggesting that I know what is best for you. On the contrary, my therapy (and personal) “voice” has grown to become increasingly grounded in humility and profound empathy, sitting comfortably not being certain, keeping my mind open, listening intensely, putting aside my personal frameworks, sensibilities, and reference points-all in order to genuinely see you.

I offer individual, couples, and family psychotherapy to adults, adolescents and children (aged 8 and older), with a particular interest in men's issues.
My successful clients are active psychotherapy participants who are dedicated and motivated for change. Introspective, he/she thinks about therapy outside of the office and attempts to use the knowledge and insight gained to improve relationships, goals, and life satisfaction. At times, psychotherapy requires difficult work from both the therapist and client, and the outcome is predicated by the mutual effort vested in the therapeutic process.

Play therapy creates the space for children to share their inner and outer experiences, and to thereby process and integrate.
The power of the spoken word, and understanding its limits . . . Incorporating and expanding the impact of talk therapy to include somatic and relational components . . . Collaboration as the path to healing . . . I bring this frame to my practice of psychotherapy. If invited, I will join you in your search, as you find and open the doors that beckon to you, or that feel elusive. I am committed to social justice and deep ecology, and maintain awareness of the impacts of privilege, including my own, and systems of oppression on diverse identities and social locations.

Child Therapists

Do I need to attend therapy with my child?

Parents are an integral part of a child’s therapy, but the specifics of their involvement vary. If your child is young, you may attend most or all sessions; if your child is older, you may attend a few sessions or none; sometimes a therapist may ask you to have a session on your own. Whatever the arrangement, you should expect to work collaboratively with the therapist, your child, and your family members to take steps to help support your child.

How long are sessions with child therapists?

Children’s therapy sessions can last 30 minutes, 45 minutes, or 60 minutes. The length of the session may depend on your child’s age and the type of therapy practiced. You can discuss this with therapists you consult and the one you ultimately move forward with.

How do I get a child to agree to seek therapy?

The best approach is to have an open-ended conversation with your child about how they’re doing and what they might be struggling with. When you raise therapy, discuss the concept in an age-appropriate way, for example explaining that a therapist’s job is to help kids handle their hard or uncomfortable feelings. Frame therapy positively, as an opportunity to explore and build emotional skills—it’s an important tool in the toolbox to help kids feel their best.

How can I tell if a therapist is a good fit for my child?

A child needs to feel comfortable opening up about their thoughts and feelings, so if your child feels a sense of comfort, ease, and trust with their therapist, that’s a great sign. In addition, a therapist is a good fit for your child if the two can communicate well together; a clinician should be able to communicate clearly, effectively, and in an age-appropriate manner.
