Humans are complex, so I look at the whole person, including your environment and experiences, when treating anxiety, depression, trauma, or other mental health issues. I often guide clients in exploring their identities, values, and beliefs so you can build self-worth, set boundaries that improve relationships, and make authentic decisions. We work together to set goals for counseling, process what you have been experiencing, and recognize and develop the strengths and supports that can get you to a place that feels better.

We are all on this journey of life together, yet there are times when circumstances beyond our control can disrupt our mental health. During these moments, reaching out for support can make a meaningful difference. Therapy provides a safe space to develop coping skills, gain insight, and move forward with greater clarity and confidence. It is not only about what has happened, but how you process and respond to life’s challenges that shapes your path forward. Sometimes, having someone who truly listens is the first step toward healing.

I have enjoyed working in Colorado Springs as a therapist for the past 30+ years with both individuals and group counseling. We all experience emotional pain, physical pain or a combination of the two at different times in our lives. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to establish a collaborative effort with my clients to modify beliefs, assumptions and behaviors with the goal of solving emotional and behavioral problems. This approach is helpful for children, adolescents and adults. It is used to treat (but not limited to) depression, anxiety, stress related disorders and symptoms related to trauma.

Hi there! Thanks for stopping by! Do you ever think to yourself, "What's wrong with me?" or "How come I cannot snap out of it?" Let me tell you, there is nothing wrong with you and you simply cannot snap out of it. There are a lot of social stigmas when we have emotional struggles; we internalize these beliefs. Sometimes, we resist seeking treatment because it can be seen as a weakness because of underlying trauma or experience. This worsens over time whether you are depressed, anxious, fearful, frustrated, resentful, or angry. I believe many of us want to have understanding, support, empathy, and new coping methods.

Hi, I'm Travis. With more than 18 years of experience in talk and behavior therapy, I’m dedicated to providing counseling that is thoughtfully tailored to each individual’s unique needs. I believe the effectiveness of therapy depends largely on the connection between counselor and client. Without a strong therapeutic relationship, meaningful growth can be difficult to achieve. For this reason, creating a safe, supportive, and balanced environment is central to my approach. My goal is to provide compassionate, judgment-free counseling that combines evidence-based interventions with a genuine and supportive therapeutic relationship.

I love supporting couples and individuals who are wanting to make a change in their life or wanting to feel better. Maybe they are struggling with regulating their emotions and don't have enough tools to be as resilient as they would like to be. Maybe there are outside stressors with work, a relationship, or kids and want support in how to handle a situation. They may find themselves "triggered" by things from past trauma and they don't know how to cope. They may feel very stuck in a relationship and now sure how to move forward.

“I don’t feel safe in myself.” “Depression and anxiety overwhelm me.” “I no longer know who I am.” “I carry the weight of trauma.” “I’m tired of running from my pain.” If you connect with these statements, please know you don’t have to do this alone. Reaching out takes courage, not perfection.

Many people seek neuropsychological evaluation when something feels “off”: memory lapses, trouble focusing, difficulty organizing thoughts, or emotional shifts that don’t quite make sense. These changes can be unsettling, especially when they affect work, relationships, or daily life. My goal is to help you understand what’s happening beneath the surface and offer clarity, compassion, and a path forward. As a U.S. Air Force veteran, I’m also committed to creating a space where fellow veterans and service members feel understood and supported.

Hello, I'm Ashley. Life can be difficult to navigate at times, especially when going through major life transitions. These things can greatly impact our well-being, especially if we do not have the proper tools to work through them. It can seem impossible to deal with these life stressors and escape from the overwhelming feelings that accompany them.

Sleep or Insomnia Therapists
How effective is treatment for insomnia?
The most effective treatments for insomnia are behavioral techniques that reduce anxiety, including anxiety about falling asleep, and allow the body’s natural cycles to be recalibrated. The most common treatment is cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia (CBT-I), which researchers have found to be more useful than medication, with rates of success as high as 80 percent.

Are there specific medications for sleep problems?
There are many medications, both over-the-counter and prescription that treat sleep problems. Supplements such as melatonin are popular and may help, though there is little evidence that it is more effective than a placebo. Prescription medications such as zolpidem are sometimes prescribed.

Are there natural treatments for sleep problems?
There are many natural treatments for everyday sleep problems. Reducing blue-light emitting screens, setting a regular bedtime, regular exercise, reducing caffeine and nicotine consumption, and keeping the bedroom dark and cool at night are all lifestyle changes that can help those who struggle with sleep but may not reach the level of an insomnia diagnosis.

What’s the difference between having trouble falling asleep and insomnia?
Life events, stress, and anxiety can lead to sleepless nights for everyone from time to time. To be diagnosed with insomnia, a patient must experience trouble falling asleep, trouble remaining asleep, waking up too early, or non-restorative sleep at least three nights per week for at least one month. Sleep problems affect one-third to one-half of the population, while chronic insomnia affects about 10 to 15 percent of people.
