I offer individual therapy in person and virtually.
Life can become overwhelming, and it’s easy to feel stuck between worrying about the future and replaying the past. Stress, trauma, anxiety, self-defeating thoughts or depression can leave you feeling disconnected from yourself, your relationships, and the life you want to live. Therapy offers a safe, supportive, collaborative, and nonjudgmental space to slow down, breathe, understand the emotional weight of what you’re carrying, and begin to heal. My goal is to help you learn to give yourself grace, build resilience, challenge self-negative thoughts and recognize that you are not defined by your past or the expectations of others.

Together, we'll create a schedule that works for you-whether it's weekly or bi-weekly, in person or online.
Cynthia is passionate about working with all ages and especially children and adolescents. In addition, she is highly skilled in working with trauma, meaning - any event which a person finds disturbing or distressing that overwhelms them. Through use of play therapy, sand tray, and finding and growing a person’s strengths, Cynthia supports young people in learning how to express their emotions in a healthy manner. It can be difficult expressing oneself after experiencing trauma. She strives to provide a safe place for young people to talk about their fears and struggles without being faced with bias or judgement.

You’re exhausted from holding everything together. Maybe you’re a teen or young adult who feels anxious, overwhelmed, or stuck in your own head. Wondering why everyone else has it all together and you don't? Maybe you’re a mom who loves her kids deeply but feels guilty for not enjoying every moment. Or maybe you’re a woman rebuilding after a toxic or controlling relationship, trying to remember who you even are or if you can trust your judgment anymore. On the outside, you look “fine.” On the inside, you’re tired of the anger, the loneliness, the exhaustion. You want relief. You want clarity. You want yourself back.

If you’ve spent your life being told you're “too emotional,” “too much,” or if you’ve been masking, people-pleasing, and silently carrying pain no one talks about, I get it. You don’t have to do this alone anymore. Therapy with me is raw, honest, and real. I offer therapy in English or Spanish, whichever language your pain speaks the loudest in. I won’t sit above you or hand you rehearsed advice. I sit with you. In the mess, in the quiet, in the unraveling. When you’re ready, we move forward, together.

I love working with people who have anxiety and/or depression. Their issues may be broad as depression may look very different person to person. Their needs, too, may vary greatly. Everyone's goals may differ, but within my work with individuals the goal should be to mitigate anxiety, decrease depressive symptoms, and reawaken a sense of hope.

FAQ - About In Person Therapy
What are the benefits of in-person therapy?
In-person therapy offers several benefits that some people find highly valuable for their mental health treatment. Being present in the same room as your therapist can create a stronger sense of connection and allow for more nuanced communication through body language. Some people may also find it easier to focus in therapy when they are in a dedicated space and away from potential distractions related to home or work; attending an in-person session provides a clear boundary between therapy time and the rest of your life. For certain therapeutic approaches, such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), exposure therapy, or somatic therapy, being in person may be particularly important, as these therapies benefit from the therapist being able to observe and respond to a client’s physical cues effectively. Additionally, some individuals simply feel more comfortable discussing sensitive or painful topics when they are face-to-face with their therapist rather than on a screen.

When should I choose in-person therapy over online therapy?
In-person therapy may be a better choice when you need a structured therapeutic environment separate from your daily life, when you find it difficult to focus or feel comfortable in an online setting, or when privacy at home is a concern. It may also be more appropriate if you are dealing with severe mental health symptoms that require close monitoring or if your therapy involves approaches that rely heavily on observing physical cues. On the other hand, if convenience, scheduling flexibility, or access to specialists outside your immediate area are priorities, online therapy may be a better fit. Many therapists offer both options, so you can also discuss with a provider which format might work best for your specific situation.

How do I find an in-person therapist?
You can use Psychology Today's therapist directory to find an in-person therapist in your area. You can search by location, insurance accepted, specialty areas, therapeutic approaches, and other criteria to narrow down providers who meet your needs. Each therapist profile includes information about their credentials, areas of expertise, and whether they offer in-person sessions. Once you have identified potential therapists, you can contact them directly through the directory to schedule an initial consultation and determine whether they are a good fit before committing to ongoing treatment. When reaching out, it can be helpful to confirm their availability for in-person appointments, their office location, and whether they accept your insurance.
