Stress, trauma, anxiety, self-defeating thoughts or depression can leave you feeling disconnected from yourself, your relationships, and the life you want to live.
As a board-certified clinical and prescribing psychologist with more than 16 years of experience, I utilize evidence-based psychotherapy and work alongside you—not as an expert telling you what to do, but as a partner working with and helping you to understand your patterns, strengthen your coping skills, and move toward meaningful and lasting change.

Relationships can feel especially difficult to navigate, whether due to communication challenges, emotional distance, or a sense that something important is missing.
I work with adults and couples navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, and relationship challenges, including intimacy and connection concerns. I also support those experiencing differences in desire, performance anxiety, or sexual concerns that can feel isolating or hard to talk about. Together, we explore patterns while building tools for change.

Maybe you've said something like, "I can relax when everyone around me is ok", or "I can't be ok when my partner is (insert emotion here)", so you try to help them feel ok, so that you can feel ok?
Life is extremely difficult when peace depends on everyone else being ok first. You can still be safe, caring, helpful, etc., without carrying. Together, we can work toward something that might feel almost foreign right now: a steady, rooted sense of yourself. One that doesn't rise and fall with the people around you.

We all deserve to live a life that you feel passionate about and to engage authentically in your life and your relationships.
Do you ever find yourself questioning if there is more to life, going through a life transition, or simply not feeling quite like yourself? You are not alone. These feelings are a natural part of being human, and there are times when we all need some extra support in our lives. I firmly believe that healing is attainable for those who have the desire, the necessary support, and the willingness to actively engage in their path towards well-being. Life presents us with various chances to explore ourselves and evolve through our encounters.

FAQ - About Couples Therapy
Does couples counseling work?
Research shows that couples counseling is effective; it can reduce relationship distress and improve emotional awareness, communication, empathy, intimacy, and overall relationship satisfaction. For example, emotionally focused therapy was found to be effective for about 75 percent of couples, and those benefits lasted at least two years.

When should a couple seek counseling?
Couples can benefit from counseling if they consistently struggle in their relationship. They may have lost the ability to communicate effectively, become entrenched in harmful patterns, begun to fight more than usual, broken the other’s trust, suffered from a mental or physical illness, or faced any number of other challenges. Many therapists offer free consultations, so if a couple isn’t sure whether therapy is necessary, asking directly can provide clarity.

How can I get my partner to go to couples therapy?
The decision to seek couples therapy is often driven by one partner, who then convinces the other to participate. When discussing the idea, the initiator should be direct and assertive. They can state the problems they see and explain how the relationship would benefit from therapy. In more serious cases, they can also explain how their relationship may suffer without making any changes or seeking professional help.

How does a couple prepare for couples counseling?
The anticipation of beginning couples counseling can be difficult—sometimes more difficult than the first session itself. Taking a few moments to reflect can allay those concerns: What are the current challenges? When and how did they begin? What do they want the relationship to look like in the future? Reflecting on these questions can help individuals or couples articulate their goals. Of course, the therapist will also ask questions and guide couples through the process.
