Stress, trauma, anxiety, self-defeating thoughts or depression can leave you feeling disconnected from yourself, your relationships, and the life you want to live.
As a board-certified clinical and prescribing psychologist with more than 16 years of experience, I utilize evidence-based psychotherapy and work alongside you—not as an expert telling you what to do, but as a partner working with and helping you to understand your patterns, strengthen your coping skills, and move toward meaningful and lasting change.

I work with individuals who are in the thick of life — balancing careers, relationships, parenting, and personal expectations — and recognizing that something needs to shift. Many of the people I see are thoughtful, capable, and highly responsible. They aren’t looking for endless analysis. They’re looking for clarity, direction, and practical tools that create meaningful forward movement. With over 30 years of experience, I integrate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Solution-Focused principles in a collaborative, goal-oriented process designed to build skills and support measurable progress.

Others are young women who are building careers, navigating dating and relationships, exploring their identity, or working through feelings of anxiety, overwhelm, or self doubt.
My clients often come to therapy feeling stretched thin, stuck in unhelpful patterns, disconnected from themselves, or uncertain about how to move forward. Together, we create a supportive space where they can slow down, gain clarity, and better understand their thoughts, emotions, and needs.

I hold deep compassion for the human experience and the many stressors that come with simply living life. Just as the body grows tired from labor, so too can the mind grow weary from the weight of our experiences and transitions. I believe we are each shaped by powerful, emotional stories—and within those stories is a voice trying to make sense of where we belong. Sometimes that voice feels lost or quiet. At times we take on roles that don’t align with who we are, just to fit in. In my practice, clients are welcomed exactly as they are whether in grief, confusion, transition, or celebration—and are met with compassionate curiosity.

When should I seek treatment for anxiety?
Everyone feels anxious at times, but when anxiety causes disruption to your daily life, it may be time to seek help. Such disruption can be mental, physical, or both: having fear dominate your thoughts, avoiding situations or objects that bring on feelings of anxiety, or experiencing shortness of breath, sweating, dizziness, or panic attacks. When these symptoms are recurrent and distressing, it may be time to talk to someone.

What are the most common types of treatment for anxiety?
Talk therapy, particularly cognitive behavioral therapy, is the most common treatment for anxiety. Studies have shown it is equally effective as medication. Other popular forms of therapy are popular, depending on a patient’s experience. Exposure therapy, for instance, can be useful for people dealing with fears and phobias, or who have experienced traumatic events. Dialectical Behavioral Therapy may be useful for patients who need help with emotion regulation. Anxiolytic medications, like benzodiazepines, can also help with calming a person enough to focus on the skills they’ve learned, and physical exercise has been shown to help symptoms of anxiety across the board.

How long does therapy for anxiety take to work?
The amount of time needed to alleviate symptoms depends on the severity of a person’s condition. Some therapies may take 5-20 weekly sessions to show results. Anti-depressant medications typically take two to four weeks before a benefit is felt. Anti-anxiety medications are felt typically within 20-30 minutes. Medications are best used to offer a patient a better headspace in which to work on techniques learned in therapy. Exercise, improved sleep habits, and meditation are effective, but takes weeks or months to show results.

How effective is treatment for anxiety?
Treatment for anxiety has been shown to be moderately to highly effective, according to a large body of psychology studies and analyses. For some people, treatment using CBT or exposure therapy alone is effective. Others respond best to a combination of medication and therapy.
