It takes courage to reach out and I take that to heart when working with people of diverse histories and needs. I work most often with clients facing depression, trauma, anxiety, loss, life transitions, stress, and relationship challenges. I invite my clients to look into themselves and their lives with both clarity and compassion. If you are seeking an approach that is holistic, integrative, trauma-informed, and empowering, we may be a good fit for counseling. My intention is to help you find your own inner knowing, strengths, and capacity to heal.

I love working with a diversity of clients. Many of my clients have started therapy because they want to have relief from depression, anxiety, insecurity, pain in current or past relationships, or trauma. I work well with people who want to be curious about their past, patterns, strengths, symptoms, survival strategies, and complexities.
I have noticed that I often work with people who want to investigate their worldview and patterns from multiple perspectives. They're open to -even if it's new at first- being both analytical and body-centered to learn more about themselves both by thinking and by feeling.

Hello, my work specializes in trauma informed care and spiritually focused counseling. I am trained in EMDR and Somatic Experiencing. I have learned throughout the years that thorough healing comes not only from addressing our wounds and traumas but from a deep exploration of what we have decided about ourselves and our place in the world. I am highly valued as a compassionate, competent therapist who will provide understanding and skills that support moving through and coping with traumatic events/responses recent and past, and the spiritual evolution born out of traumatic wounds.

Humans are complex, so I look at the whole person, including your environment and experiences, when treating anxiety, depression, trauma, or other mental health issues. I often guide clients in exploring their identities, values, and beliefs so you can build self-worth, set boundaries that improve relationships, and make authentic decisions. We work together to set goals for counseling, process what you have been experiencing, and recognize and develop the strengths and supports that can get you to a place that feels better.

I work with women navigating pregnancy, postpartum, and early motherhood. Many feel overwhelmed, anxious, or unlike themselves after welcoming a baby. They may be adjusting to sleep deprivation, identity shifts, relationship changes, or the pressure to “do it all well.” Some are experiencing postpartum anxiety or depression, while others feel stretched and need a place to process this season. I offer a warm, steady space to slow down, make sense of what you're carrying, and move forward with more clarity and support. And for those who desire it, Christ-centered care that gently integrates faith into the healing process is available.

I work with individuals struggling with low self-esteem, depression, anxiety and disordered thinking. Many of these mental health issues are rooted in past trauma. I have discovered that trauma exposure, including single episode, multiple or repetitive events nearly always have a destructive impact on people and subsequently their personal relationships. Together we will examine the ways you relate to your world, focusing on your individual concerns. We will work to uncover the source of your pain and discover how to effectively connect with yourself and build healthy relationships with the people in your life.

You might be feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure how to move forward. For some, that looks like anxiety that won’t quiet down, stress that feels constant, or emotions that are hard to manage. For others, it shows up in their child, behavior changes, school struggles, or emotional ups and downs that leave you feeling worried and unsure how to help. Whether you’re reaching out for yourself or your child, it often starts with the sense that something isn’t working and it’s time for support.

I help clients experiencing difficulties in areas including anxiety, depression, relationship issues, grief, alcohol or drug use, changes in life circumstances, and those wanting to explore personal growth.

How do you encourage a woman to go to therapy?
It’s helpful to express concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual may be suffering, and what effects it has on them, should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.
How can women prepare for therapy?
Women can prepare for therapy by being willing to talk about their past experiences and their private thoughts. Before a session, an individual may want to reflect on how they’ve felt since the last session and what’s happened in their lives. Between sessions, it can be useful to write down notes about their reaction to a given event or how they felt at a particular time.
How long does therapy for women’s issues often last?
As with any type of therapy, sessions depend on the individual and the challenges they face. Therapy types like Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), Prolonged exposure therapy (PET), and Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) can be brief, most often ranging from between 5 and 20 sessions. In some cases, such as for women with eating disorders, residential treatment may be recommended for an individual who is judged to be at high risk of self-harm. For any therapy, the duration will depend on the progress made and results realized.
How can women overcome stigma around specific challenges in order to seek therapy?
Women dealing with domestic abuse, sexual assault, eating disorders, and any other number of troubles may feel a stigma around seeking help. It’s important to remember that these issues are not uncommon and there is no shame in getting help for them. Therapy is confidential, and women can talk about their experiences without fear of judgment. Seeking therapy can be a courageous and liberating act, and an important step toward healing and recovery.
