Hello, my name is Matt Banach. I'm excited to meet you and help you with your therapy progress. My ideal client specifically wants to address their trauma through EMDR and is motivated to put in the work to heal. Their issues range from mild depression and single episodic trauma to more complex PTSD and dissociative presentations. For example, their issues may include formative attachment trauma, military trauma, accidents, and sexual abuse. Their most prominent need would be to heal from past trauma which contributes to their current distress and difficulties in relationships.

Welcome! Life and relationships can be a challenge to navigate, especially with unhealed trauma that causes stress, anxiety, and depression. I understand how overwhelming and impossible it can feel to move forward in prioritizing yourself and conquering some of your fears, developing and maintaining healthy relationships, cultivating happiness and autonomy for yourself, and learning how to cope with life's struggles. Together, we can strengthen your relationships, deepen your connections, and close doors to wounds that have depleted your energy for long enough.

Hello, I'm Mark. As we start our journey at the bottom of the mountain, we must understand there are several paths to the top. All of these paths have the potential to lead you to the summit, where you can find the view you've been looking for. You're going to choose your path, just as with many things in life. I will walk alongside you as we ascend the mountain, meeting daily goals along the way. As we move forward, we'll process the roots, rocks, caves, and canyons we traverse. Why do you keep tripping over them, and why are they holding you back?

Ideal client? I think of the person who’s tired of wearing a mask. Maybe they’re feeling sadness, anger, or are stuck in behaviors that keep hurting their relationships. Many of the people I work with have never had a space to be honest without feeling judged or weak. In our work, you aren't seen as inadequate; you are capable, and your struggles don't go unappreciated. I bring honesty, directness, and a sense of rawness to our work. My clients are routinely career-accomplished, yet wildly unsatisfied in personal relationships. I welcome anyone tired of the same old grind and ready to push themselves to try something new.

High-Achieving Professionals Attachment Trauma & Anxiety —
I work with high-achieving professionals who appear successful on the outside but struggle internally with anxiety, relationship difficulties, and the lasting effects of childhood trauma. Many are adult children of emotionally immature or abusive parents and may have histories of emotional, physical, or sexual abuse. In therapy, we focus on understanding how early attachment experiences shaped current patterns and develop new ways of relating to yourself and others that support greater emotional security, authenticity, and lasting change.

I support individuals in their desire to heal and improve their quality of life. Sessions are focused on the development of concrete skills to manage emotions and thought patterns which influence our behaviors in conjunction with EMDR. Clients have described me as straightforward and "no nonsense". I create an active healing environment, more than just talk therapy. The goal is always to achieve the ability to function without therapy in the most effective and short term manner.

Many people seeking therapy are deeply self aware, yet still feel disconnected from themselves in ways insight alone has not resolved. Others are exhausted from years of surviving difficult relationships, chronic stress, masking, or harmful systems that dismissed their experiences. Inner Archive works with adults and older adolescents (ages 16+) navigating dissociation, chronic pain/illness, identity rupture, and complex trauma. Therapy focuses on helping clients connect with themselves in ways that feel sustainable, embodied, and meaningful rather than performative or surface level.

Dissociative Disorders (DID) Therapists
How does therapy for dissociative disorders work?
Dissociation may be triggered by stress or other upsetting circumstances, and therapy can address the traumatic events at the core of an individual’s dissociation. Understanding why a person may dissociate can help the therapist and the individual come up with alternative methods of coping. A person with a dissociative disorder may get stuck on negative thinking, for example, and treatment like Cognitive behavioral therapy is a gold standard for breaking such thinking. And dialectical behavior therapy, for example, can help a person manage their anguish through better emotion regulation.
Which therapies are best for dissociative disorders?
Specific approaches used by professionals include cognitive behavioral, dialectical behavior, psychodynamic, schema therapies, among others. Cognitive behavioral and dialectical behavior therapies are two widely used therapies that can help individuals with painful memories and past traumas. These therapies work to integrate an individual's different identities into one person.
Are there specific medications for dissociation?
There are no specific medications prescribed for dissociative disorders. However, psychosis, depression, anxiety, and/or panic often co-occur in dissociative disorders. A psychiatrist may prescribe medications for any accompanying symptom—which may include antipsychotics like aripiprazole, antidepressants like selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors, or anti-anxiety drugs like benzodiazepines.
How often and how long are therapy sessions?
Like any type of therapy, sessions depend on the individual. Patients may see improvement within 15 to 20 sessions, at an average of 50 minutes per session, others may opt for 20 to 30 sessions over, perhaps, a six-month period. There are still other patients, especially those who have co-occurring conditions like depression and anxiety, who may need to continue sessions for up to 12 to 18 months.
