My strengths are working with those who struggle with trauma, multicultural issues, & life stressors.
I would like to describe my current therapy approach as decolonizing traditional therapy practices, as well as 'formally-informal'; I like to make therapy sound like two people having a conversation. I feel that my personal experience amplifies my clinical experience to connect with my patients. Overall, I’m here to build a genuine relationship with you.

I work with young to older adults struggling with life dissatisfaction, partner betrayals, addiction, experiencing anxiety, depression, distress, life changes, trauma related symptoms acute and PTSD, identity issues, negative self-talk, marital/relationship, family and workplace conflict issues.
I have been married for 17 years and have 3 adult step children, a son-in-law and 3 grandchildren. I also have 2 cats that are important members of the family. Family is something I view to be a living entity, challenging at times, and have come value over the years. My life experiences have given me insight and perspectives that allow me to make unique connections with my clients. I learned that life is ever changing. I have come to realize that during times when we feel defeated, it does not mean we are unable to change the outcome or our quality of life in the future, nor, is it too late to create the life we do want.

I work with adolescents, teens, and adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, and the heavy weight of old stories that shape self-identity.
As both a clinical social worker and an advanced yoga teacher, I bring years of trauma-sensitive, mind-body practices to therapy. Together, we’ll use approaches like CBT, ACT, Brainspotting, and radical acceptance to gently reconnect you with your body, shift painful patterns, and create space for new meaning and healing.

I specialize in working with people who have endured trauma, PTSD, attachment wounding, preverbal trauma and anxiety.
I offer several options to fit your mental health needs. My EMDR intensive format allows clients to make significant progress in a shorter period of time. Others find that Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) is helpful. For those that have received prior therapy and may have already tried KAP, Psilocybin Assisted Psychotherapy may be a great option.

A safe place to navigate the challenges of anxiety, depression, trauma, family conflict or whatever “purpose robbers” that are at play.
Doing therapy as an inpatient adolescent therapist, taught me how difficult adolescents have it today. From the pressures of social media to the dark paths of suicidal ideation to trauma, our youth are in need. Purpose provides individual and family therapy to help with strengthening their toolbox to face the challenges of life.

Many of these emotions are what categorize symptoms of depression, anxiety, ADHD, and PTSD.
Having gone through the therapeutic process myself, I understand both its transformative power and its difficulties. This firsthand experience fuels my approach — one that is grounded, relatable, and authentic. Many clients describe my style as unconventional and unlike traditional therapy, surprised how differently our work feels from what they expected.

As a Certified Trauma Informed Care Counselor, I do a great deal of work with grief and loss, attachment trauma and traumas sustained in early childhood and adolescence.
In today’s world there is a great deal of pressure to be perfect. Because of this, it is sometimes easy to feel as if we are failing miserably while everyone else has life pulled together. We spend so much time taking care of everyone around us that we forget to take care of ourselves. With a deep and heartfelt compassion for those I serve, my aim is to help create an environment in which healing and insight can take place. Oftentimes the hardest first step is to reach out for help. Whether you are looking for extra support during a challenging time or wanting a change, I’d love to support you along the way.

As a licensed therapist, I have been trained in a variety of therapeutic modalities to diagnose, treat, and educate clients with trauma, grief and addiction.
The past few years have been traumatic for individuals and families all over the world. Many have had difficulty coping with their day-to-day struggles which has been compounded by underlying traumatic events, abuse, and lack of support. Many struggle with unhealthy coping mechanisms to help them manage their depression and anxiety. This often leads to neglecting individual needs, unhealthy coping, toxic relationships, & substance use. Understanding how these issues manifest in one's life and discovering how to heal and become the best version of oneself is a difficult process that is most effective with someone to serve as a guide

With specialized training in trauma care, I incorporate a variety of therapeutic interventions as appropriate including EMDR, somatic awareness, mindfulness, DBT, CBT and art therapy.
We have all experienced various levels of loss, harm or violation in our lives and this will have an effect on us. Are you experiencing disordered eating, unwanted sexual behavior, depression, anxiety, anger or turning to substances for relief? Often people feel a pain inside they are unable to understand or articulate. Perhaps you're frustrated and beginning to feel hopeless or helpless to change. Transformation and change is possible but it is a process, not an event. Research shows that finding the right "fit" in a therapist is one of the most important factors in having a transformative experience in therapy.

I take a person-centered and integrated approach, and apply science-based, trauma-informed practices in order to help clients obtain their goals in counseling, and in life.
Life can be difficult at times. It can be stressful and it can feel like it's more than you can handle. People often find talking to a therapist to be particularly helpful during such times. It is an intentionally helpful conversation.

As an experienced adult and adolescent therapist, I offer counseling for anxiety, depression, and traumatic stress. Beliefs and emotional responses learned from experience can limit us, affect our physical health and our relationships. It matters what we focus on, how we interpret it, and how we respond. Learn how to manage symptoms while they lessen or are eliminated. Text for a initial consultation. The mind and body are inclined to heal. Let yourself adapt and recover.

Trauma and PTSD Therapists
When should I seek treatment for trauma?
Not everyone who undergoes trauma needs therapy to heal, but many do. If, after experiencing a traumatic event, you find yourself struggling with symptoms such as nightmares, dissociation, irritability, or emotional numbness—especially if these symptoms last more than a month and are severe enough to interfere with your daily functioning—you may benefit from seeking out therapy with a trauma-informed provider.

How long does trauma therapy take?
Different types of therapy for trauma unfold on different timelines. Prolonged exposure therapy and cognitive processing therapy, for example, each take about three months, while trauma-informed CBT may last anywhere from 8 to 25 sessions. Other approaches, especially those that are less structured or that incorporate elements from multiple modalities, may be more open-ended, though many patients report feeling better within the first few months of treatment.

What happens if trauma is left untreated?
Unaddressed trauma can have serious—even devastating—effects on relationships, career, and day-to-day functioning. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can lead people to distrust or lash out at others, making it difficult to maintain intimate relationships; it can also trigger symptoms such as flashbacks or hyperreactivity that can interfere with a person’s ability to function effectively, personally and/or professionally. Some sufferers turn to drugs to find relief. Symptoms may lessen on their own with time, but there is no guarantee that PTSD will resolve on its own.

Can PTSD come back after treatment?
It is possible for PTSD symptoms to recur months or years after successful treatment. This is because, like most mental health disorders, it is not possible to “cure” PTSD, and stressful life events may cause symptoms to recur in even the most resilient individuals. There is no shame in re-experiencing PTSD symptoms nor in returning to therapy when such relapses occur; indeed, many forms of trauma therapy explicitly encourage periodic “maintenance sessions” to reinforce coping skills and ensure that symptoms stay manageable.
