Hi! I'm Lindsey. My passion is working with people who want to process past trauma, and relearn how to feel safe in the present. I feel honored to help people who grew up in dysfunctional families who may have experienced neglect or abuse, codependent patterns, people pleasing, building healthy self-esteem, reconnecting with their body, and people struggling with past trauma who want to reconnect with who they are at their core. My goal is for you to feel understood and empowered, and never judged or stigmatized. I work with couples who are wanting to work through conflict and create a deeper sense of intimacy in their relationship.

Can we all agree that life can be rough? One minute, things are great, then the next, things feel different. Maybe it's a disconnect in our relationships. Maybe it's the unrelenting demands piling up. Life feels heavy, and the days feel long. We question the path traveled and worry about the future. You are not alone and navigating this difficult season doesn't need to be done individually. Imagine feeling at ease, again. What does that feel like? Is it reduced anxiety? Increased self-esteem? Maybe it is socializing again? Or, is it picking yourself back up after a relationship ended?

I help individuals gain self-confidence and create great relationships. I only work with people one-on-one because I’m dedicated to giving you personal, in-depth support throughout your relationship journey. That could include deciding whether to stay in a challenging relationship, navigating infidelity, recovering from heartbreak after a relationship ends, learning to enjoy being single, and/or navigating dating, commitment, and the evolution of new relationships. I can provide insight into current relationship challenges and help you develop stronger skills through training in mindfulness, empathy, communication, and boundaries.

I believe in helping people put the pieces back together. I specialize in trauma issues, self esteem , depression, sex addiction and sexual trauma. Often trauma has a long lasting, but unknown effect on people. Resolving trauma leads to previously unknown levels of fulfillment. When a persons self-esteem is well functioning, their relationships often are also connected and intimate. Sexual addiction is treated in a stigma-free manner. I treat my clients with dignity throughout the process and facilitate a shame-free recovery.

Hello and welcome! I specialize in working with individuals and couples who might be struggling with trauma, shame, anxiety, depression, grief, self-esteem/body image, communication, intimacy, relational/familial conflict, and much more. Your pain lies beneath these patterns and drives your outer world. I will guide you in truly healing the wounds that drive your struggles. You will be able to identify and articulate feelings that are hard to put into words so you can integrate, understand, and externalize the things your body doesn’t need to carry anymore. With this transformation comes self-love, creativity, connection, and more.

Are you ready to change the way you think about yourself? I can help. I'm most passionate about working with people as they tackle anxiety disorders. I support clients who feel overwhelmed and confused by an internal sense of discord. Anxiety often creates difficulty developing and expressing an authentic sense of self, and low self-esteem both of which can significantly hinder a person's ability to engage comfortably in their life.

(Video Teletherapy being offered in response to COVID-19) I enjoy working with adolescents as well as adults who are experiencing depression, anxiety, responses from trauma, or low self-esteem. It is important for me to get to know my clients so that we can work together to develop a plan on how to improve any issues that may be present. I tailor my approach to counseling based on client need rather than purely diagnosis as every individual responds to treatment differently. I am part of a group practice that has clinicians with a variety of specialties, populations they serve, and availability.

We, as humans, have an incredible potential for growth, but we often find life difficult; we feel stuck, alone, and uncertain. I believe that when we work through the hard things, we can find healing. I strive to create counseling relationships based on safety, trust, and hope, where people are accepted and challenged to grow in new and meaningful ways. I believe counseling is an opportunity to work through pain and suffering, develop resiliency which can be carried forward into life, and experience healing, freedom, purpose, and self-acceptance.

Self Esteem Therapists

When should a person seek therapy for low self-esteem?

When self-esteem problems begin to disrupt the healthy daily functioning of an individual, it may be a good time to look into therapy. If a person finds that they are not engaging with friends for fear of being judged, not completing work assignments because they don’t think they’re capable, or not finding romantic love because they don’t feel they’re worthy of it, a therapist may be able to help.

What are the signs of low self-esteem?

Low self-esteem is a common issue that can affect a person's mental and emotional well-being. Some common signs of low self-esteem include negative self-talk, perfectionism, social anxiety, difficulty making decisions, an inability to set boundaries, people-pleasing, and others. A lack of belief in oneself or one’s abilities and a feeling of not being worthy or deserving underlie most of these characteristics.

What causes low self-esteem?

Feelings of low self-worth can begin in childhood or adulthood. Being raised by a highly critical parent or growing up feeling constant disapproval can stay with a person well into adulthood. Specific issues in adulthood may also be a cause of low self-esteem. An unhappy relationship, a dysfunctional work or school experience can impact a person’s feelings of self-worth.

How can therapy improve self-esteem?

Therapists can help identify negative thought patterns that keep the client stuck in a loop of destructive self-talk and develop coping skills to change the voice in their head. A therapist can help with goal-setting, so that clients are better able to stay on task and build confidence from successfully completing work they’re proud of. Coaching a client on how to better communicate can improve relationships. These skills can result in someone with low self-esteem feeling empowered and living with less fear.
