Navigating the immigration process can feel overwhelming. Your lawyer is handling the legal side, but you’re left feeling anxious, confused, and scared that the only home you’ve ever known could be taken from you. You search for answers, and that’s where I come in. An Immigration Psychological Evaluation can provide critical support for your case. This could be the key factor in keeping your family together rather than torn apart. Whether you're seeking asylum, facing hardship, applying for a waiver, or proving the emotional impact of separation, I take the time to provide a comprehensive evaluation. You don’t have to do this alone.

Philosophy Therapy is a revolutionary new way to improve. Since ancient times, the discipline of philosophy (practiced by the likes of Socrates, Hume, and Khayyam) has been used not just to advance science and politics, but also to heal the human soul. In Philosophy Therapy, we employ hard-earned conceptual distinctions made by philosophical geniuses over the millennia to solve our personal problems and get a better perspective on our own lives. I will walk you through your everyday concerns, mental health issues, and relationship problems, and help you ask and answer many perplexing questions that may be causing you suffering.

Building a compassionate, trusting relationship with clients is my foremost priority in therapy. I help clients develop strengths, assertiveness, and resiliency to cope with life's challenges while focusing on reorienting beliefs, improving relationships and increasing attunement to thoughts + feelings. I believe that our brains are naturally adaptive and a clear understanding of how your mind works can empower healthy change. That’s why I use a combination of mindfulness, CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy), EMDR (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing), self compassion and Gottman Institute's research-based approach.

Our world can be overflowing with pressure, contradictions, and systems that were never built with your wholeness in mind. And when you try to slow down, reconnect, or even resist? It can feel like you’re stuck, disconnected, or just plain exhausted from holding it all together. Some of what you’re carrying was never yours to carry. These different expectations, histories of harm, the weight of surviving in systems that were designed to make your survival harder. Chronic stress, anxiety, numbness, isolation…these aren’t personal failures. They are what happens when people are asked to live inside structures that don’t honor them.

You’re no stranger to hard work and accomplishments but something still feels off. You find yourself replaying conversations and situations and how you responded, feeling upset that you didn’t just say what you really wanted to. It’s exhausting having to constantly read the room and adjust yourself to others’ expectations especially when you want something different for yourself. A part of you knows you’re ready to feel more self-assured, emotionally regulated, and respond in ways that feel more right inside. Most of all you’re ready to stop walking that tightrope and feel more spacious and steady. I want to help you get there.

Before becoming a therapist, I spent over a decade working as a public servant, where I saw how many caring, capable people quietly carry stress, burnout, grief, and disconnection while continuing to function for everyone around them. My first inspiration for this work came from being raised by my mother, a dedicated, now-retired nurse. Growing up around caregiving shaped my understanding of both human resilience and the emotional weight people carry when life leaves little room for rest, support, or simply space to be.

At Create Outcomes, we help people overcome anxiety, depression, loss, and relational difficulties. Our approach is an integration of psychodynamic and cognitive-behavioral modalities, which means we will explore the way you experienced the world from birth until present in order to identify habits and behaviors that have become roadblocks to living in alignment with the person you want to be. We utilize LifeMaps, a collaborative treatment plan where you can track progress and see your therapy notes. The Map is your treatment plan translated from clinical terms to language that better represents the work we do.

I see individuals and couples who are struggling with sex and relationships and ready to release shame, plus reclaim connection, authentic desire, and boundaries. Perhaps you feel disconnected in your relationship, your body, or your sense of self. Maybe your turnon is turned OFF. Maybe you keep having the same fight, carrying the same pain, and nothing has shifted it. You might ask “Why are relationships so damn hard?" Or "Why can’t sex just be easy and fun? ” You know something has to change. You're willing to be honest about your part in it and dig in to build the intimate, joyful, love-filled life you've been longing for.

Muslim Therapists
Why is it important for a therapist to be culturally sensitive?
A culturally sensitive therapist will be respectful of faith, race, sexual orientation, gender, age, disabilities, or anything that is relevant to an individual’s reasons for seeking therapy. This mental health practitioner will therefore be able to recognize the role of faith in a client’s life, and they can appreciate the cultural values and beliefs of others. Cultural sensitivity on the part of the therapist may enhance the possibility of a strong therapeutic bond, even if the clinician does not have an extensive understanding of a client’s background before therapy begins.

How might I inquire about a therapist's experience with Muslim clients?
It is best to ask directly whether a therapist has worked with Muslim clients, and if so, the extent to which cultural or religious principles factored into their work together. You can also ask whether a therapist who is familiar with Islamic practices, values, and beliefs incorporates them into their professional work, and if so, how. If the therapist does not have a sufficient knowledge base, they may well know and can refer you to someone who has such experience.

What if the therapist does not have my exact background?
It is not necessary for a therapist to share one’s exact religious background for therapy to be successful. A qualified and culturally sensitive therapist will appreciate diversity within the Muslim community as well as diversity overall, and will have a sense of how religious and cultural issues can contribute to mental health. In addition, a good therapist would be willing to learn from their clients.

How do I recognize an effective Muslim therapist?
Like all therapists, a Muslim therapist who is effective will have the requisite training and expertise in evidence-based techniques, as well as the ability to connect with you on a personal level. An effective Muslim therapist may also demonstrate a clear understanding of your cultural background and faith. A therapist with such cultural sensitivity will set the stage for a strong therapeutic alliance.

Who is included in Psychology Today's directory of the Muslim faith?
The directory of Muslim therapists includes mental health providers who have shared their cultural background in their profiles. Psychology Today uses this information to assist clients in finding a therapist with a similar background. However, not all therapists choose to disclose this information, and they may not appear in search results for this reason. When the number of therapists identified as Muslim is limited, the directory will also show therapists with extensive experience working with clients from relevant backgrounds.
