Your marriage feels like a growing distance between you and your spouse, often misunderstanding each other despite a desire to reconnect. Conflict feels like a recurring cycle you can’t break, leaving you both frustrated, exhausted, and sometimes hopeless. One or both partners may feel unappreciated or unseen, and efforts go unnoticed. Emotional intimacy has waned, replaced by tension, silence, or resentment. You struggle to communicate effectively, fearing that speaking honestly will escalate arguments. There is often a tension between love and disappointment. You both want the relationship to work but feel stuck in patten.

Connecting with clients on a deep level is absolutely vital as a therapist. I take pride in getting to know YOU personally, and tend to take more of a coaching role throughout therapy. Our sessions together are all about your journey, no issue is too big or small. My specialty and first therapeutic love is working with couples. I believe that all couples have the ability to get back to the honeymoon phase--and stay there. I also LOVE working with couples in the pre-marital/pre-engagement phase. I consider it an honor to give engaged couples a safe place to work through the kinks before embarking on their great journey together!

Many things can create distance — substance abuse, pornography, infidelity, or emotional withdrawal — all of which impact communication and intimacy.
Healthy relationships need ongoing care to thrive, but life's demands can lead to harmful patterns and disconnection. Therapy can help heal past wounds and rebuild a stronger, more fulfilling connection. For marriages in crisis, I offer 3- and 5-day intensive counseling sessions focused on deep healing and practical tools for lasting change.

You and your partner sit silently on the sofa. The TV is on, & you're both looking at your phones. Though in the same room, you might as well be a world apart. You're feeling neglected, unappreciated, & lonely. There's little affection between you these days. You try to focus on all the positives in your life, but your unhappiness is becoming the elephant in the room - harder and harder to ignore. You long to feel desired, appreciated, & a priority in your partner's life. You're afraid to talk to your partner about your true feelings as conversations are often misunderstood or full of conflict. You don't know where to turn.

Infidelity Therapists
How does therapy for infidelity work?
A skilled infidelity therapist will provide a safe space for clients to communicate their feelings and concerns. The goal is to be completely honest about what led to the cheating and how it has affected the entire family to prevent it from recurring in the future. The therapist will help the clients work on rebuilding mutual trust and respect and developing better communication and conflict-resolution skills. If the goal is to remain a couple, clients will learn the “danger signs” for their specific relationship, and they will make a renewed commitment to be faithful.

How long does therapy for infidelity take?
Recovery from infidelity can take time, and it can vary from person to person. Generally, a therapist will want to see the clients at least once a week for around six months. Then the sessions can be arranged as needed, depending on the clients’ individual needs. While therapy may end or shift to an as-needed basis, it can take up to two years or more for some clients to fully recover from infidelity.

How does therapy help the partner who was cheated on?
When a client discovers their partner’s infidelity, their trust in the relationship and in the life they had together may be shattered. They often experience mental health symptoms, such as anxiety, depression, grief, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). They don’t always want to stay in the relationship; they may feel ambivalent or may even want to leave. Therapy gives these clients a safe and healthy way to communicate all of their complicated emotions and concerns.

How does therapy help the partner who committed infidelity?
Infidelity often occurs when one or both partners’ emotional needs are not being met in the relationship. Therapy can help this client understand why they cheated and figure out how to address those unmet needs without resorting to infidelity in the future. This can lessen (but not entirely eliminate) the risk of repeated infidelity. Clients who cheat may also feel intense guilt about deceiving their partners, a sentiment that they can work through in therapy.
