The therapist's in our eating disorder recovery program work with all types of Feeding & Easting Disorders; as well as Body Dysmorphic disorder, and the host of other co-morbid disorders that often present along with an ED. Our therapists understand that seeking treatment is difficult, and therefor support our patients in making the first step toward recovery. As therapists our goal is to free you from your disorder, make your body a safe place to live, and remove rules the eating disorder uses to hold you captive. We believe in health at all sizes, and implement aspects of intuitive eating and movement into our treatment approach.

Many people seek therapy at a time of change or transition, when dealing with increased stress, loss, or for reasons they may not quite have a name for just yet. In today's world, a typical day might bring on any combination of these concerns and I strongly believe in the value of therapy in navigating day to day life. Whatever brings you here, it is valid and I look forward to learning more about your experience. My approach to therapy is to offer a safe space to share, to process, to get feedback, to set goals, to offer healing, and increase skills to navigate our daily experience most effectively.

I am passionate about holding space for people to gain healing and live their destined life. I understand the importance of creating a supportive environment for people to be, discover, and define who they are. This empowers people to access tools within themselves along with discovering new tools for healthy living.  I assist clients in changing their thinking, identifying and addressing the root of their issues, telling their story without fear of judgement, understanding their emotions, and creating a plan that promotes helpful behavior and thinking that support a healthy lifestyle.

“No need to be ashamed of tears, for tears bore witness that a man had the greatest of courage, the courage to suffer” – Viktor Frankl. Sometimes we hide our pain or get stuck on the how of life; however, starting counseling is a courageous act on the path to finding the why. My why is to help the community that I grew up in with genuine compassion for each person who is struggling. People have always felt comfortable opening up to me, and I always find ways to help my community. Also, being a Colorado Springs native, I have always loved the outdoors and exploring its beauty.

Difficult relationships are something that almost everyone has to deal with at some point in their lives. However, it is how a person deals with that relationship that counts. I help individuals learn how to manage relationship issues in a healthy manner, and try to help them recognize and stop destructive patterns. I do this by helping my clients identify the core of their relationship issues. Many people have not yet healed from childhood wounds and traumas, and these things are causing them to be attracted to difficult people or even causing them to sabotage their own otherwise good relationships.

Are you worried that others may judge you for seeking help? Perhaps you fear that if you reach out it’s a sign of weakness? Having gone through the process myself I know how terrifying reaching out for that first time can be. Since you have made it this far I strongly believe you can take that next step. Everything gets so much better from here! Therapy can help you to reach that goal that you have been putting off, address the depression that has been keeping you from enjoying life, and heal from past loss and trauma. You may be confused about how Psychology can help, I know at one time I was as well.

Don't go without support during these stressful times. It is easy to get stuck in the mundane and feel like life is stagnant, or on hold. This road can be met with many obstacles. Some we must learn to accept and some we must conquer. I help facilitate change and move you forward from past and current challenges. I assist you in gaining more self awareness, and teach you the tools needed to embrace difficult situations. The goal is to be free from worrying about the future, and replaying the past. Life transitions can cause a disruption in homeostasis. I am here to help you find balance and confidence in your decisions.

I am honored to work with people through their most difficult times and struggles, and my greatest joy is to watch people not only survive their struggles but discover how to thrive in new ways. I believe this healing is possible for all people even when clients do not believe it for themselves. Whether the challenges you face are depression, anxiety, trauma, relationship issues, work or school stress, health crisis, or something else, I want you to know you do not need to do this on your own.

Do you ever feel like you are on ‘autopilot’ or just ‘going through the motions’ in your day-to-day life? Maybe you fill your schedule so full that you barely have any time in the day to be still... so that you do not have time to feel or process heavy experiences you have been holding on to? Perhaps you have started to notice that your relationships with those around you are becoming harder and harder to maintain and you are unsure how to get out of this cycle. Let me tell you, this life was not meant to live on auto pilot, and you are meant for so much more!

Cigna and Evernorth Therapists
Cigna and its healthcare division Evernorth provide behavioral health coverage though managed care plans and Medicare Advantage plans. Outside the U.S., Cigna provides insurance through Cigna Global Health Benefits.

Cigna and Evernorth HMO plans only cover services from in-network providers and require a referral from your primary care physician. EPO plans also utilize in-network providers but generally do not require a PCP referral. PPO plans offer the most flexibility and a larger network of providers, and may include some out of network benefits.

Occasionally Cigna or Evernorth Therapists in Colorado Springs will only accept a limited number of in-network insurance patients in their practice, so it's important to check if your plan is accepted when you book a consultation.

Based in Connecticut, Cigna insures 180 million people in more than 30 countries around the world. Cigna rebraded its health services division as Evernorth in September 2021.

Here’s a link to more information on how insurance works to cover behavioral health benefits.
