I believe that people inherently want to move towards healing, but life is complex and things get mixed up along the way. I work to help clients move towards their most authentic & genuine selves. Within the counseling relationship, I strive to help clients feel supported & empowered so they can explore themselves, their current circumstances, past experiences, & future aspirations. I believe that people are the experts of their own lives but sometimes need a roadmap to help get back to where they want to be. One of the most powerful gifts that you can offer the world is to heal yourself & I would love to be a part of your journey.

I have over 14 years of experience providing high-quality therapy to individuals (adults and teens) and couples.
You’re successful on the outside—but internally, things feel harder than they should. Anxiety, ADHD, perfectionism, OCD, or relationship struggles can leave even high-performing individuals and couples feeling stuck and exhausted. For high-performing couples, unrest, betrayal, broken trust, or uncertainty about whether to stay or leave a relationship can feel especially overwhelming when so much is at stake. I work with professionals, executives, and high achievers—individually and in couples therapy—who are used to handling things on their own and want more than a place to talk—they want clarity, direction, and real change.

The world feels heavy right now, doesn’t it? If constant change has left you feeling more like you're 'surviving' than 'living,' you are not alone. Hi there, I’m Robert, and I'm a therapist that works with folks who might be struggling with mental health. Whether it be the static of anxiety, a fog of depression, confusing feelings, or shifts in your relationships and hope for the future. My approach involves providing a safe, non-judgmental space to navigate this seemingly 'messy' reality; while using practical tools to help you unload your worries and address your concerns with a thoughtful and person-centered approach.

I work with couples, individuals, families, and teens from an attachment perspective, using Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT).
When you are struggling to move past conflicts or getting stuck in all-too-familiar patterns, there should be something so direct, personal, and real about what you discover and practice in therapy that it should dramatically change how you think, feel, and act with others. Therapy should captivate and transform you. That's my specialty. Yet, even though therapy is serious work, there should be room for play: for trying things on, for practice, for being human. As a Certified Emotionally Focused Couple and family therapist, I care about the quality of your relationships. My approach? Connecting. Pragmatic. Thorough. Creative.

Becoming a parent is something that comes naturally but sometimes we have moments, or periods of transitions with our kids and we might not be sure how to navigate them. That’s where I come in. As a parent, working mom and therapist, I understand the mental load that goes into raising children. I work with children as young as 3 years old, into adulthood. I have a unique lens as a therapist, having spent over 20 years in the business and tech worlds before deciding to shift careers and pursue my passion of helping others.

My ideal clients are adults navigating an experience that changed how they see themselves, their relationships, or their life — divorce, grief, illness, spiritual awakening or loss of faith, caregiving, or menopause. They come to me not confused about whether something changed, but unsure what to do with it. Using a Transformational Integration Model I developed from fifteen-plus years of clinical practice, we move from stabilizing to understanding to real, sustainable change — so the experience becomes part of your story, not the whole of it.

You want the best for your child or teen, and when they’re overwhelmed by stress, anxiety, or past hurt, I’m here to gently support their healing and help you feel less alone in the process.
EMDR is a structured, research-backed approach that helps children and teens reprocess distressing memories so they feel less overwhelming. When blended with play and expressive arts, it creates a gentle, engaging way for young people to work through both past experiences and present struggles, while building confidence, safety, and a stronger sense of self.

FAQ - Teenage and Adolescent Therapists
What does therapy for teenagers look like?
When a therapist works with a teenager, the pair will talk about what the teen is struggling with and explore solutions, which may involve interpersonal skills, coping strategies, medication, or lifestyle changes related to sleep, diet, and exercise. Different therapists employ different modalities, but most involve a combination of conversation and skill building.

How long does therapy for teenagers generally take to work?
There’s variability in teenagers’ experiences and challenges; some may begin to improve from therapy within a few weeks while others may take several months or longer. Teens can discuss their progress with their therapist periodically to assess how they’re improving and any changes to the treatment plan that could potentially accelerate that progress.

How do you encourage a teenager to go to therapy?
It’s helpful to express your concern and love while framing therapy as an opportunity to explore a tool that could help improve their life; just like they practice baseball or dance, now they can practice their emotional skills. Give your teen control over the process where you can—maybe by weighing in on choice of therapist and signaling that therapy involves confidentiality, so a parent need not know all that is discussed in sessions.

How do you prepare teens for therapy?
You can prepare your teenager for therapy by describing what the process will look like and setting expectations for timeline, if requested. You can explain that the first session may begin with an assessment phase, that they can describe their experiences but that the therapist will ask questions too, and that it may take time to feel comfortable opening up. Ask how they’re feeling about the process and answer any questions calmly and supportively.
