Hey there, thanks for stopping by! I'm a trauma therapist and a couples therapist specialist. If you are wanting to address past traumas, ingrained code within yourself that just keeps leading to frustrations with your life, if you are wanting to learn how to get more out of your relationships, and actually build a home that is full of restoration and goodness- I might be your guy! If you are hungry to grow into the awareness and postures associated with how we end up belonging with ourselves, our pasts, and with those alongside us, I might STILL be your guy!

Our clinical focus is a "hybrid" approach combining Dialectical and Cognitive Behavior Therapy and Relational/Experiential therapy, primarily for the adolescent and emerging adult, but also working with adults, families and couples. Our clients struggle with regulating emotions, distress tolerance, core emptiness (confusion about oneself), as well as interpersonal conflict with frequent emotional chaos. Our time-limited, solution-focused technique is often sought to augment a person's existing individual therapy. Our approach is also effective in treating depression, self-injury, anxiety - focusing on coping skills. We are comprised of 4 licensed clinicians offering both individual, couple and group therapy.

We are all striving to be our best selves, even when we're stuck in life. My approach is grounded in this belief, as well as the conviction that a collaborative and trusting relationship is the foundation for any successful therapy. Understanding together the reasons and context for your particular behaviors or feelings can help move you towards change, and holding the painful emotions we all carry around with us can be powerfully healing over time. The therapy space is here for us to work towards helping you discover your authentic self and heal.

My ideal clients are individuals and couples who appear high-functioning on the outside but internally feel overwhelmed, disconnected, anxious, or stuck in painful patterns. I work especially well with high-achieving adults, relationship challenges, trauma, anxiety, grief, life transitions, and those seeking deeper authenticity and nervous system healing. By adulthood, we operate on beliefs based on what we learned in childhood from out parents, siblings, friends, teachers. Our way of interacting with others may have worked then, but now don't seem to be effective, or working against us. This can lead to depression, anxiety, anger, frustration and loss of vitality. Address the patterns and beliefs that now lead to conflict with others or yourself, or just don't work. Together, we can identify what's not working and determine your direction for change. My focus is on you, your success, your health and living a richer life.

As a child, adults said to you: “Wow, you’re mature for your age!” Maybe you had to be. Growing up, you walked on eggshells to keep the peace. You stayed as small, quiet, and compliant as possible. You found yourself parenting your parent, navigating their difficult emotions, but you weren’t allowed to have any of your own. As an adult, you find yourself continuing to live in these patterns in your closest relationships. You say “yes” when you want to say “no”. You put everyone else’s needs ahead of your own and feel overburdened with managing other's emotions . You doubt your intuition and feel lonely, unseen, and misunderstood .

Narcissistic Personality (NPD) Therapists
What type of therapy is best for narcissistic personality disorder?
Narcissistic personality disorder (NPD) is best treated with talk therapy, which could involve cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, schema therapy, gestalt therapy, or similar approaches. A therapist will help a patient uncover the feelings that may drive their behavior and discover how to engage with themselves and those around them with greater empathy and understanding, fewer demands, and less defensiveness, with the goal of developing a more authentic sense of self that enables healthier relationships.

How do therapists treat NPD?
By developing a strong therapeutic relationship, and continually focusing patients on relationships, community, and connection, a therapist, through talk therapy, may be able to help someone with NPD change. In sessions, a therapist will help an individual achieve relief from their current stressors, including the treatment of co-occurring conditions such as anxiety or depression. A therapist may also help an individual to recognize unhealthy coping mechanisms, learn new ways of interacting with others, and eventually become able to feel and display empathy.

Can a narcissist be cured with therapy?
Therapy can be effective. After a serious setback or great loss, someone with NPD may be forced to recognize that they are not immune to life’s challenges. That can spur feelings of melancholy and depression that lead them to seek professional help. Once an individual decides to seek help, they have already taken a step that the majority of those with NPD never will. Still, people with NPD often quit therapy as they naturally resist feeling vulnerable, being challenged, or admitting to flaws.

How can you get narcissistic personality disorder treatment for someone?
It is notoriously difficult to convince someone with NPD to seek help. With their feelings of superiority, they may be unlikely to recognize or acknowledge that they have a problem, or that their problem is narcissism. Sometimes, they are aware that they are arrogant and that others resent them but they don’t see it as a problem because they are convinced of their superiority. People with NPD have trouble maintaining relationships, but family members and others who do feel close to them, and whose presence they value, may be able to encourage them to seek therapy.
