I specialize in couple's therapy using the most current techniques in relationship counseling. I believe that many issues couples face, issues that often lead to relationship breakup, are normal, understandable and treatable through therapy. After years as a therapist, I have found a method for couples counseling, EFT(Emotionally Focused Therapy), that systematically addresses deep relationship issues and empowers profound and lasting change. I have been married for 40 years, have four children, value family as a stable base and would not be where I am today without the support of professional marriage counseling. I believe in it!
Another focus of my practice is children and families, particularly adolescents. I began working with adolescents when I was still one 40 years ago. Adolescence is an exciting and tricky developmental phase. It helps to have someone in your corner. I use EFFT to enable healthy connections in families.
An additional area of expertise is supporting survivors of TBI and their families. My interest in the brain began in the 1970s and was heightened when our son suffered a TBI in 2006. New understanding of neural plasticity makes this a hopeful time for those recovering from TBI.
