Whether you are seeking counseling around issues such as anxiety, trauma, or identity, I look to you as the expert of your own story. I work to acknowledge the intricacy of your experiences and strive to create a non-judgmental, safe environment in hopes of supporting you as you work toward healing. Perhaps you feel as though life is working against you and you are tired of feeling alone. You might be feeling lost in the midst of a life transition. Maybe lately you have felt stuck and as if you are not sure who you are anymore. I see the opportunity to sit with you in this space as a privilege.

Hi there, and thank you for taking this leap into starting therapy! I work with teenagers ages 12 and up and adults who need extra support and new tools to manage anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, self-harm, and/or suicidal thoughts. I like to provide my clients with tangible skills they can use outside of therapy. I am also passionate about working with people from LGBTQIA+ and gender-nonconforming/expansive communities. Are you ready to change something, but don't know how? Let's work together as a team to figure this out and start moving forward!

If you are experiencing any of the above, or are seeking self-growth, self-understanding, healing, or positive change, please reach out to me today.

Everyone deserves healing, connection, and the ability to thrive. In this challenging world, I seek to empower individuals to create a healthier way of being where supportive relationships counteract the adverse experiences of life. Using restorative and healing-centered approaches based on the ecological biopsychosocial models of practice, I work in collaboration with those I serve. I offer trauma-informed, regenerative, and liberatory-based practices that balance modern science and research with wisdom and creativity to support the health and well-being of individuals, families, and communities.

I believe that each person has a deep wisdom inside of them, and part of my job is to help you learn and remember how to trust yourself. Supporting people to cultivate both self-awareness and self-compassion are a central focus of mine. I also feel passionate about cultivating a safe and trusted connection with clients that provides the opportunity for healing and growth. Each of us has a unique journey and I help people to feel more at home in themselves, both in times of joy and hardship. Learning to support ourselves in times of pain and suffering takes practice, and we are not meant to do it alone.

I appreciate people who care and are engaged, but may need a little help. We are all intelligent, creative, funny and loving. Sometimes, all you need is help finding that path. I like people who are willing to be open and give it a try. This may look like an individual looking to face changes, or maybe a couple looking to learn how to communicate or find that lost spark. In other cases, this may involve business partners or family members learning how to trust one another. I like to work with people who are willing to do the work.

Addictions , Anger management , Compassion fatigue , ADHD , Aging and Geriatric Issues , Cancer , Codependency , Communication Problems , Coping with Natural or Human-Caused Disaster , First Responder Issues , Forgiveness , Guilt and Shame , Isolation/Loneliness , Life Purpose , Midlife Crisis , Women's Issues, and Social Anxiety & Phobias.
My therapeutic approach is person centered as well as solution focused. I truly love people and am honored to be a part of the process that helps them see and achieve the freedom and joy they so deserve. We are all human beings and not human doings. The problem is we get so focused on what we should do versus whom we should be. I say, “Come as you are” and “Be you”. I want to hear people’s stories as each story is so unique and different. Our lives are like a book and the pages are still being written. My goal is to assist people in putting all the puzzle pieces together to form the big picture.

I love working with women of color, anxiety, depression, women's issues, and adolescents dealing with 'life'!.
I have been fortunate enough to work as a school counselor in the middle and high school setting for the last five years. I love working with adolescents/young adults and helping them navigate the stressors of life. I am skilled in Solution-focused therapy and CBT with a trauma-informed lens. My therapy work is rooted in my own intersectionality & lived experiences. I believe mental health can’t be fully understood without the consideration of the historical, political & social factors that influence us. My hope is that when we can unpack those experiences in a safe & supportive space and allow you to live life authentically.

Seeing through the lens of a feminine perspective and being sensitive to women's issues is at the heart of my counseling.
I specialize in working with women and the issues that affect their lives. I don't want women to just cope with life, but to flourish. We all want to experience joy, a sense of purpose, and nourishing relationships. With the support and guidance that counseling offers, change can begin to occur to allow new opportunities and possibilities.

How do you encourage a woman to go to therapy?

It’s helpful to express concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual may be suffering, and what effects it has on them, should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.

How can women prepare for therapy?

Women can prepare for therapy by being willing to talk about their past experiences and their private thoughts. Before a session, an individual may want to reflect on how they’ve felt since the last session and what’s happened in their lives. Between sessions, it can be useful to write down notes about their reaction to a given event or how they felt at a particular time.

How long does therapy for women’s issues often last?

As with any type of therapy, sessions depend on the individual and the challenges they face. Therapy types like Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), Prolonged exposure therapy (PET), and Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) can be brief, most often ranging from between 5 and 20 sessions. In some cases, such as for women with eating disorders, residential treatment may be recommended for an individual who is judged to be at high risk of self-harm. For any therapy, the duration will depend on the progress made and results realized.

How can women overcome stigma around specific challenges in order to seek therapy?

Women dealing with domestic abuse, sexual assault, eating disorders, and any other number of troubles may feel a stigma around seeking help. It’s important to remember that these issues are not uncommon and there is no shame in getting help for them. Therapy is confidential, and women can talk about their experiences without fear of judgment. Seeking therapy can be a courageous and liberating act, and an important step toward healing and recovery.
