I have worked with adults and adolescents for 30 years to overcome depression, anxiety, anger, stress , relationship conflicts, ADD, addictions, workplace, and motivation problems. I am a very interactive, direct (often with humor) and solution focused therapist who challenges clients to instigate the change they want to see. I help clients develop skills in approaching discomfort rather than avoiding. Using cognitive strategies, I can help you change negative thinking to positive. I help clients express their healthiest emotions rather than using emotions to defend or manipulate. I encourage exercise and mindfulness.

I work with individuals struggling with the effects of unresolved trauma, which can look like experiences of anxiety, depression, and panic attacks, as well as challenges in relationships and sex life. My counseling incorporates a mind/ body approach that is based on an understanding of the neurobiology of trauma and that is highly attuned to cultural and societal context so as to promote more possibilities for healing. My aspiration is to support my clients to feel keenly aware of their sense of empowerment, agency, and wholeness in the present moment rather than feeling defenseless against overwhelming emotions and bodily states.
