"We don't have to do all of it alone. We were never meant to."-Brene Brown. I whole heartedly believe that healing occurs when we invite others to step into our story and walk along side us in times of struggle, hurt, and unknown. Because of this, I consider it an honor and privilege to be able to join you in your search for healing and wholeness. Although I am equipped to work with individuals in any stage of life I am especially passionate about working with children, teens, and young adults struggling with anything from anxiety and depression to trauma and self discovery.

My main approaches stem from the following theories: EMDR, IFS , Narrative, CBT, and EFT.
Does your pain feel like it is continually affecting your present? Does your past impede your joy in your relationships, career, hobbies, and goals? Do you feel ready to find freedom from the things that are weighing you down? If you feel like any of the questions above resonate for you, it is time to find healing. Experiencing pain in life is inevitable – being stuck in pain is not. Working through the root causes of your current struggles will allow you to experience joy and peace to a greater capacity. EMDR and IFS are my foundational therapeutic approaches and my style is relational, direct, and compassionate.
I am passionate about helping the healers in this world and am only accepting therapists as new clients. As therapists we have a tendency to put others first, but in doing so, we can sometimes neglect our relationship with ourselves. As healers, our own health is our biggest asset. Let me be your advocate and show you a kinder, gentler way to treat the most important person in your life. I strongly believe that we become amazing therapists once we tap into the wisdom of our own lived experiences and know the humbling experience of being a client. I believe that the most important and effective therapeutic intervention is you.

Internal Family Systems is another great way to address trauma.
Are you ready to finally find out who you are? To break down the wall and connect to the world around you? To live without those painful memories that dug their claws into your mind? Trauma can affect everything: your humanity, your identity, your ability to cope. My clients often experience daily anxiety, frequent depression, nightmares, poor memory, emotional ups and downs, and a sense of not knowing who they really are. Worst of all, they feel like they don’t know how to relate to other people - even their closest loved ones.

I have a passion for working with individuals who have experienced trauma, utilizing EMDR and IFS in my approach.
NOTE: I am on maternity leave until July. I believe that we are all born on this planet as whole, worthy human beings. I also believe that our various lived experiences — including trauma in all its forms — can have a big impact on our beliefs about ourselves and the ways we show up in the world. As a therapist, my goal is to help you get back in touch with your truest, most authentic self and uncover whatever it is that may be preventing you from living your most joyful life. I work from a person-centered, collaborative, and integrative perspective, offering a non-judgmental space for clients to explore all parts of themselves.

I promote improvement in my client's quality of life related to moods, relationships & sense of purpose. I approach clients where they are in their lives, relationships & moods in a manner that is accepting and encouraging. I believe people are their own best resource for understanding their present state, how they have arrived there, & having resilience to heal & move toward their goals. When clients are very stuck in negative moods, behaviors & relational patterns, I help them engage these through mindfulness, emotionally-focused & trauma healing therapies, which are based on understanding natural processes of healing & growth.

The cycles of overwhelm, internalized aggression, and self-abandonment are not solitary experiences - they happen as complex responses to trauma, stress, depression, grief, and disconnect. Whether you are struggling with addiction, life transitions, or any challenging pattern, the impulse to escape the present moment can influence a painful cycle of suffering. In the process of reclaiming the self, we cannot approach healing on a solely cognitive level. Every aspect of the collective self holds the wounds and wisdom that, if honored in mutual regard, can guide an individual towards profound growth.

Internal Family Systems (IFS) Therapists

What is Internal Family Systems therapy?

Internal Family Systems (IFS) is a type of talk therapy that focuses on sub-personalities, or “families,” within a person, which may be made up of wounded parts and unpleasant emotions like anger and shame. These sub-personalities can come into conflict with each other and with an individual’s core Self, leaving the person feeling detached from positive traits such as the “8 C’s” of confidence, calmness, creativity, clarity, curiosity, courage, compassion, and connectedness. By healing a patient’s wounded parts, a therapist aims to restore balance and bring on positive change.

How does Internal Family Systems therapy work?

An IFS therapist will work with a patient to identify their particular sub-personalities, recognize the emotions powering them, and release them. By doing so, the patient should become more able to address any underlying problems their sub-personalities may have been trying to protect them from. Ultimately, a patient discovers ways to manage internal and external conflicts on their own, through techniques such as relaxation exercises, journaling, and making charts depicting the relationships between their core Self and their distinct parts.

Does Internal Family Systems therapy work?

IFS therapy has been shown to help people address conditions such as depression, anxiety, panic, fears and phobias, trauma, and substance use disorders. Some research has also found that it can help individuals deal with symptoms of physical health conditions like rheumatoid arthritis, such as pain, everyday functioning, depressive feelings, and low self-compassion. There are some conditions for which IFS treatment, specifically discussions of one’s “parts,” may be less appropriate, such as schizophrenia or other states that involve psychosis or paranoia.

How long does Internal Family Systems therapy take?

As with most forms of talk therapy, there is no set duration or end point for IFS therapy. After becoming comfortable with a therapist and the core concepts of IFS, some patients quickly make progress. While experiences vary, most will find that it is a relatively longer-term therapy, involving months and sometimes years of sessions.
