I specialize in EMDR-informed trauma therapy focused on attachment wounds, codependency, and relational patterns.
Many of my clients come to therapy feeling stuck in painful relationship patterns, emotional dependency, or anxiety in relationships. Others struggle with boundaries, grief, or a sense of disconnection from themselves, even if life looks “fine” on the outside. They often understand their patterns logically but feel frustrated that they can’t fully shift them. I work with adults who are ready to go deeper than insight alone and want real emotional change in how they relate to themselves and others.

I’m grateful to work in a field that honors growth through reflection and processing. The ability to recognize, explore, and integrate past experiences into present-day life can feel overwhelming, but it’s also where meaningful change begins. I believe that real transformation happens through a strong, trusting connection between client and therapist. One that supports not just short-term progress, but lasting lifestyle shifts. In our work together, you’ll be encouraged to remain open to the process and to continue that work beyond our sessions. Reaching out for support takes courage and willingness, consider this your first step.

You’re ready to find your person—but you want to stop losing yourself along the way. You may analyze every text, become invested in emotionally unavailable people, mistake intensity for compatibility, or silence your needs to preserve a connection. Perhaps dating apps and situationships have left you discouraged, or anxious attachment makes it difficult to feel secure even when love is going well. You’re ready to break painful relationship patterns, trust your intuition, set healthy boundaries, and create the reciprocal love you desire.

Welcome. My name is Trey, and I’m glad you’re here. You can expect to be heard, validated, and encouraged with me as your counselor—and you can expect to be challenged in areas where more insight or action is needed for you to reach the tipping point that leads to breakthrough moments. I approach counseling from an integrative model, with a particular emphasis in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I believe counseling is highly relational, and once a strong therapeutic relationship is formed we identify your specific goals and work towards them.

The path through life can be difficult and leave you feeling overwhelming and stuck. In turn, it becomes challenging to feel like yourself and enjoy everyday activities. I believe that getting in touch with your authentic self will help you face those blocks that hold you back.

Life is full of challenges. I believe these challenges can also be stepping stones to our own personal growth. Whether stress from a job, a relationship issue or perhaps experiencing depression or anxiety, everyone deserves to have a non-judgmental, safe place to be able to talk. As a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist, I strive to make my office a comfortable environment where those "hard conversations" can happen, resulting in a deeper understanding of what roles we play in relationships as well as how our thoughts impact how we feel and act.

You may be the person others rely on—the one trying to keep it together while struggling internally. Perhaps you overthink, have difficulty setting boundaries, people-please, or feel stuck in patterns that no longer serve you. Whether you're navigating anxiety, ADHD, relationship stress, identity or faith exploration, or a major life transition, I aim to create a space where you can slow down, gain clarity, and feel more connected to your authentic self. I enjoy working with college students and adults who are motivated and self-aware, but want support turning that awareness into meaningful, lasting change.

If you are a new or expecting mom and are looking for support, I am so glad you are here. I help women like you, that look like you're holding it together, but you are snapping, shutting down, or barely getting through the day. You're mind won't slow down. The thoughts keep going. You feel guilty no matter what you do, and even when you get a break, you can't actually relax. Lately, you don't even feel like yourself, and that part is starting to scare you. I work with pregnant and postpartum moms who are high-functioning on the outside and completely overwhelmed on the inside.

Life presents opportunities for change, and we all have the ability to grow from this change though self-discovery. I believe that although change is inevitable, it takes courage to be active in guiding change toward personal growth. My goal is to create an environment where real and sustained growth is possible.

“I feel stuck and unsure what to do.” “I’ve never felt this alone before.” “Everything feels like too much.” “My past keeps affecting my present.” These are some of the concerns clients bring when struggling with anxiety, depression, or trauma. You don’t have to navigate these challenges alone, and life doesn’t have to feel overwhelming, scary, or isolating. Therapy can help you overcome difficulties and give you tools to move forward.

What therapy types help with codependency problems?
Both couples and family therapy and cognitive and behavioral therapy (CBT) can help with the relationship difficulties referred to as codependency. Such problems typically include inappropriate feelings of responsibility for a loved one’s destructive behavior, irrational patterns of thinking about such behavior, and family interaction patterns in which the needs of one troubled member override the needs of others in a household.

What happens in therapy for codependency?
Spouses and family members learn and practice how to interact and support each other in a healthy way without sacrificing their own needs or well-being. They learn the limits of their responsibility for their loved ones and correct faulty patterns of thinking and feeling that underlie codependent behavior. Individuals may be encouraged to nurture an array of social relationships and to cultivate their own talents and interests so that they develop a healthy sense of self outside the family.

How does therapy help a person or couple overcome codependency?
Therapy helps people establish healthy ways of being in a relationship. Spouses and family members learn how to nurture and support one another without sacrificing their own needs or allowing the needs of one person to dominate the dynamic. Individuals learn how to say no and set boundaries, and how to maintain their own identity and self-esteem. Therapy helps people understand that they are not responsible for the feelings and actions of others. It also helps individuals deal with the turbulence that can come from living with a person suffering from such conditions as substance abuse and mental illness.

What is the goal of therapy for codependency?
One goal of therapy for codependency is to alleviate feelings of responsibility for and correct irrational patterns of thinking about loved ones whose behavioral problems override the needs of others in a household. Therapy helps people establish healthy boundaries of behavior and speak up for their own needs in a relationship. In addition, people learn how to maintain a healthy relationship, one in which both parties give and receive equally and are able to retain their own identity.
