Accepting new clients for in person or virtual sessions. Stress and triggers just won't stop and it's been building for FAR too long. You can't stand how irritable you’ve become, especially around those you love. Your go-to de-stressors just aren't cutting it, and you’re growing tired of your own procrastination, rumination, and withdrawing from others. You want to be more present in your life and relationships. This can absolutely be temporary. Let's work together to move you past this!

Now more than ever, people are feeling anxious, overwhelmed, or stuck in patterns they don't fully understand. You may be navigating a difficult life transition, carrying the weight of past trauma, struggling with relationships, or trying to manage emotions that feel intense or hard to control. Over time, ignoring your needs or pushing through can start to take a toll on physical and mental health.

You woke up again only to realize your person is gone. Just like that. They are no longer here. Is it even possible to go on without them? The ache in your chest is too much to bear. The tears either won’t stop flowing or they don’t even come. It feels like you’re stuck in a rip current. You see the shore, find some relief, and then the wave slaps you in the face and again you are being dragged under. It’s unfair. It’s gut-wrenching. It just SUCKS! Life doesn’t have the same excitement it once did, and you wonder if it ever will again.

My passion is to help people create an environment for growth so that they can thrive! I have been helping people grow throughout my entire career. I currently live in Colorado Springs with my wife, Deanna. We have two adopted sons, a daughter-in-law, and two grandsons. I graduated from Wheaton with a BA in Psychology and worked for many years as a chaplain in the juvenile justice system. Then I obtained my MA in Counseling from Denver Seminary and had a private practice in Denver for several years. We moved to Austria to pursue an opportunity to care for the mental health of cross-cultural workers.

One of my life's goals was to live in the mountains. I'm an Iowa gal who spent many summers touring the West. So, when given the chance, I moved to Southwest Colorado. I loved mountain life. My dogs and I spent many days hiking with some four-wheeling and fishing thrown in. I worked at a Durango women's shelter and then became a clinical supervisor at Peaceful Spirit Southern Ute Treatment Center in Ignacio. I worked there for ten years and became better acquainted with some of the Native spiritual practices. Since graduating from college, I have made it my life's mission to help others improve their lives.

My ideal clients are adolescents and young adults who are feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure how to move forward. A lot of the people I work with are navigating anxiety, depression, life transitions, identity questions, or relationship challenges. I also work with children when play-based therapy feels like the best fit for helping them express what they’re going through.

I am here to bring hope to people who are hurting. Every person, made in the image of God, is valuable. My personal mission statement is "to heal the brokenhearted and set the captives free", taken from Isaiah 61:1. With compassion, I try to help each person untangle what is often "the web" of their situation and assist them in overcoming difficult circumstances in life. A person may have been abused and feel great stress, despair, and even torment. Regardless of your life story, I believe that with God, there is a clear pathway to a better life.

I am deeply passionate about fostering authentic and empathetic relationships with my clients. I enjoy working with individuals, teens, couples, and families, and I draw on my life experiences to offer a holistic approach to mental health. I believe that we all possess innate wisdom and have the ability to generate our own solutions, though we sometimes need support in reconnecting with this inner strength. My approach is collaborative and integrative, honoring each client's unique decision-making process and beliefs.
