The clients I work with are often thoughtful, self-aware, and exhausted. Many have spent years functioning through trauma, holding it all together while privately traversing enormous burdens. They’re often moving through major life shifts, difficult relationship dynamics, or systems that feel limiting. They’re not looking for surface-level solutions. They want depth, insight, and a therapist who won’t flinch at complexity. Through this work, I often watch people reclaim parts of themselves they thought were lost, and begin to inhabit a life that feels more congruent with who they are. And from that place, change becomes sustainable.

You contain multitudes. Parts of you may feel tender, guarded, hopeful, overwhelmed, creative, or exhausted. All your parts are deserving of care. I work especially well with people who feel deeply and move through life with heightened awareness — creatives, caregivers, highly sensitive individuals, and those navigating transition, grief, awakening, or emotional overwhelm. Many of my clients are thoughtful, intuitive, and self-aware, yet still find themselves stuck in patterns of anxiety, self-doubt, burnout, or disconnection. I help clients slow down, reconnect with their depths, and uncover clarity, resilience, and trust in Self.

I work with women who are carrying what has felt too big to process on their own, maybe have a history of sexual trauma, or feel the weight of systems not built to hold you. Maybe you find yourself hypervigilant to the world, feeling uncertain or insecure, or struggling to trust your own body. If you've tried talk therapy before and found that something was missing, you're not alone. I integrate somatic awareness, parts work, transpersonal exploration, and Gestalt techniques to help you shift out of patterns you understand but feel stuck in. Our work together is grounded in mindfulness and attuned presence to support lasting change.

Adolescence and early and mid-adulthood holds a special place in my heart, because they are such ripe ground for discovery, yet many young people get stuck along the journey. I have worked with young people for over 20 years, who have struggled with social-anxiety and shyness, neurodivergence, anxiety and panic attacks, depression, grief and loss issues, trauma, school issues, and complex family issues. While all of these can be horrific for the individual and families involved, the underlying resiliency present in each of these young people and families is the foundation that we build from in the healing process.

Would you like to set clear boundaries? Change persistent patterns that arise in relationships? Ease your heart’s longing to belong? Engage transitions thoughtfully and with empowerment? Embrace a greater sense of connection & well-being? Be more kindhearted with yourself & loved ones? Support your child living a more joyful life? These aspirations are natural, indicating a courageous readiness to reach a fuller potential and greater well-being. Adults express themselves through stories; children through play. Words & play activate the nervous & neural systems allowing access to emotions, thoughts, & sensations.

You’ve been trying to hold everything together, but lately it feels heavier than it used to. Maybe you’ve been moving through your days on autopilot, feeling disconnected from yourself or the people you care about. You might catch yourself stuck in old patterns you can’t explain, reacting in ways that surprise you, or feeling tension building inside even when things look fine on the outside. If you’ve been feeling overwhelmed, lost, or unsure how to slow your mind down, you’re not alone.

Trauma can affect every part of life. For some, it shows up in relationships with a partner or family. For others, it brings anxiety, nightmares, or a deep sense of being wounded. Trauma can even live in the body, causing pain or unexplained medical issues. However it shows up for you, it often creates a disconnect from living the life you want.

Women's Issues Therapists
How do you encourage a woman to go to therapy?
It’s helpful to express concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual may be suffering, and what effects it has on them, should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.
How can women prepare for therapy?
Women can prepare for therapy by being willing to talk about their past experiences and their private thoughts. Before a session, an individual may want to reflect on how they’ve felt since the last session and what’s happened in their lives. Between sessions, it can be useful to write down notes about their reaction to a given event or how they felt at a particular time.
How long does therapy for women’s issues often last?
As with any type of therapy, sessions depend on the individual and the challenges they face. Therapy types like Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), Prolonged exposure therapy (PET), and Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) can be brief, most often ranging from between 5 and 20 sessions. In some cases, such as for women with eating disorders, residential treatment may be recommended for an individual who is judged to be at high risk of self-harm. For any therapy, the duration will depend on the progress made and results realized.
How can women overcome stigma around specific challenges in order to seek therapy?
Women dealing with domestic abuse, sexual assault, eating disorders, and any other number of troubles may feel a stigma around seeking help. It’s important to remember that these issues are not uncommon and there is no shame in getting help for them. Therapy is confidential, and women can talk about their experiences without fear of judgment. Seeking therapy can be a courageous and liberating act, and an important step toward healing and recovery.
