I see clients who are dealing with trauma, although it's not always obvious that past experiences are running the show. Many of my clients struggle with perfectionism, addiction, shame, boundaries, people-pleasing, self-worth, and feeling stuck. I am open and affirming of all identities and bodies, often working with communities I align with, such as queer, poly, ethical non-monogamy (ENM), and kink. I use a collaborative approach with lots of humor and raging against the machine (shame).

You may be someone who has spent years holding everything together for everyone else; high-functioning on the outside, but internally exhausted, anxious, disconnected, or stuck in patterns you can’t shake. Maybe you grew up in a dysfunctional or emotionally unsafe household and learned to silence your needs to survive. Or you’re a veteran carrying pain few understand, trying to navigate life beyond what you’ve endured. You’re ready for real change, more peace, more clarity, healthier relationships, and freedom from past wounds.

After 37 years in practice, I continue to witness the power of "the talking cure". Through use of language, while relating to a therapist, we come to know ourselves intimately and are able to discover what is at the root of painful thoughts, feelings and actions. Feeling seen, heard, understood and accepted is key to restoring hope as well as alleviating pain and suffering. Deep and abiding change can occur because an authentic relationship with a caring, and skilled, therapist allows for exploration, and working through, of painful, scary and difficult feelings.

You're exhausted from the same fights. You dread another conflict, walking on eggshells, feeling alone even when you're together. You've tried to fix things — maybe even tried therapy before — but nothing seems to stick. You feel misunderstood, caught in patterns you can't break, wondering if something is fundamentally wrong with you or your relationship. There isn't. These patterns have roots — in attachment history, nervous system responses, and wounds that long predate this relationship. That's exactly what we work with.

About me: I specialize in women's issues, trauma, grief, relationships, anxiety, and life transitions. About you: You are intelligent, sensitive, and high-functioning. You appear to others as though you have it all together, but inside, something's not working. Perhaps this manifests physically, as insomnia or chronic tension. Sometimes it's more internal: hypervigilance or depression, indecision, heaviness, or an inability to move past a traumatic event. You seek answers to life's biggest questions, but sometimes have trouble hearing your own inner wisdom. You wish to feel more ease, more clarity, more connection, more meaning.

It gets exhausting... the racing thoughts, self-doubt, and the pressure to keep everything together. Maybe you’re overwhelmed by overthinking, feeling stuck, or questioning your worth. You’ve tried your best to manage, but it’s draining to keep pretending you’re okay. You’re not alone and you don’t have to face this by yourself. I support adults struggling with anxiety, ADHD, self-worth, and relationship challenges with warmth, curiosity, and intention. Together, we’ll explore what’s beneath the surface, let go of what no longer serves you, and develop tools to help you feel grounded and confident.

I often think of therapy as similar to mountaineering: We tether to another person as we build trust and explore the natural landscape of our humanness. At times treacherous and scary; at times awe-inspiring and profound. The point is not to curate this expanse, but instead to build familiarity so that we can be more sure-footed as we walk through our lives with increasing skill... Comfort and ease within the chaos and uncertainty that can be everyday life.

So here's the deal. How often do you say things like, "suck it up" and "rub some dirt on it" when things get tough? What are you hoping to gain from avoiding the truth that brought you to say those things? Are you bottling your feelings? That is the real issue, how you deal with life's roadblocks, speed bumps, and HOLY..., and not whether or not they exist. Often there is more than just you involved, you have children and they look to you as an example. emotions are human, YOU are human, THEY are human. But HOW in the HELL do you deal? Grab life by the horns and let's make a game plan! Life isn't easy...call me...you are not alone!
