I believe we all possess deep inner wisdom that requires careful nourishing and intention to access more fully. For many people, this means transforming trauma into awakening by diving inward to discover what is beneath the surface. For others, it means taking personal growth to a deeper level and facing hard things in order to unlock potential. I am here to support your evolution toward a more meaningful, mindful, and connected existence.

There are times where life presents tremendous challenges that can feel and seem insurmountable. Childhood wounding, insecure attachment, abuse, discrimination, divorce/separations, existential crisis, and transition to motherhood can be overwhelming. Often our family, friends, and larger community, if we are connected to them, do not know to help or are compromised themselves and cannot. This is when the proverbial "sh*t hits the fan." In some larger way, we might be able to see what is happening as an opportunity to grow, but what has happened or is happening is so painful we need strong support to get through and grow from it.

Accepting new clients in Colorado and Florida! Do you have things you've been afraid to tell anyone, including a therapist? Do you have "dark thoughts," and maybe you just want it all to stop? You've endured trauma, pain, being in the wrong place at the wrong time, or maybe you made some bad choices. You're afraid of being judged, rejected, or your therapist not being able to handle your "stuff". Therapy should be a safe place where you can be your genuine self, and talk about whatever is weighing you down. You deserve a therapist who can listen to and support you with empathy, compassion, and no judgment.

I specialize in treating the emotional and psychological impact of relational trauma. Traumatic experiences within the context of a close relationship can profoundly impact our sense of self, ability to trust, and safety in future relationships. My therapeutic philosophy is to increase awareness of your pain points, address them therapeutically, and empower you to move toward healing and resolution through engaged and active treatment. Across my decade experience, I have worked with clients to courageously address what they have been through to get to where they dream of being- a fulfilled, connected, rich, and dynamic future.

I work best with clients who are not only wanting to resolve their issues, but who also have some abiding interest in inner exploration and self-discovery. In my experience, if we only approach therapy with the mindset of needing to fix, therapy can become heavy and mechanical. Even if we are working with difficult subjects, therapy is meant to engage a part of us that loves to know the truth about ourselves. When this happens, it is as though a flame lights up in us, which fuels our passion for self-inquiry. Then, therapy becomes more like an adventure, which can be very enjoyable, meaningful, and expansive.

Many of the clients I work with recognize the soul even if they call it something else like spirit or Self. Regardless of what we call it, we often arrive at crossings in life where that core is lost, buried, or suffering. These are painful revelations, with subtle and sometimes disturbing pleas from the soul for a return to adventure, more imagination, trauma sensitivity, exploration of sharing our gifts-and living a more meaningful life. Combining the insights of Jungian psychology with the mapping of the archetypal quest, dream and process work, and Brainspotting...

It’s hard being a human! And sometimes we need help figuring things out. Each of us desires contentment and fulfillment in our lives, but it's hard to access when we don't know what we don't know: what's really in the way?, and why does it keep showing up?what can I DO about this situation?, and who am I? These questions become increasingly loud during major life events, such as divorce, death, marriage, a career change, etc. We ALL experience this pain and confusion, but the good news is, you're not alone.

I work with people in transition: issues that arise in the movement from childhood to adolescence, from home to college, from being single to being partnered, separation and divorce, and ways in which we relate throughout life towards work and loves. I will help you explore your conscious choices and their non-conscious sources and impacts from early experiences. I specialize in helping people of all ages move through traumatic events, and develop resilience skills. My work is primarily Psycho-dynamically and Neuro-dynamically based. With children, I frequently use play-therapy as a primary modality.

Are you feeling stuck, stressed or simply don't feel as good as you would like to? How can you change the way you feel, think and experience life? Most people are creatures of habit and once they settle into a repetitive pattern, find it daunting to move out of it. Unconscious conditioning is a powerful unseen player that creates repetitive patterns which greatly affect your quality of life. I help you access your unconscious patterns and reprogram them, freeing your intrinsic health, wisdom and zest for life.

In the past twenty seven years of practice, I've come to deeply understand that we become who we are from two sources: our relationships and experiences. The beliefs we hold about our limitations, potential, and life's possibilities spring from our interpretations (and misinterpretations) of life events and from the people surrounding them. I help clients unpack their past and present experiences so they may understand how these are woven together; to heal self-judgements and negative beliefs that come from their past; and create compassionate, loving, and empowered relationship with themselves, and others.

How can I find a therapist in Boulder?

Search for nearby therapists or counselors by inputting your city, town, or suburb; or zip code; or a provider’s name into the search bar. From there, you can filter providers by the issues they treat, cost, insurance, gender, and other factors to find providers who are well-suited to your needs. To navigate between locations within the same country, enter a new city or zip code into the search bar.

Learn more about how to find a therapist.

Is online therapy a good option?

Therapy conducted online or over the phone can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your zip code.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?

Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In the United States, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.

What type of therapist is right for me?

Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist, psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.

Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?

The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors. Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.

What type of therapy is right for me?

The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.

Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?

Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.
