Together we'll use mind-body tools to understand and heal your nervous system, address trauma (personal, intergenerational, or historical) and cultivate resilience so you can live from the center of who you are.
Many of my clients come to therapy because they feel disconnected from what they really want, need, and feel. They find themselves having reactions in daily life that feel intense and confusing, and they wonder how painful past experiences might still be impacting them. They might cope with stressors through numbing, staying busy, or disordered eating, and wish for a life that felt more aligned and joyful. I am passionate about supporting motivated clients to get free from limiting patterns and connect deeply to themselves so they can feel more alive, have more choices, and take action on the things that matter most to them.

I help people create lasting change, by weaving Internal Family Systems, trauma therapies EMDR and Brainspotting, body-centered and mindfulness skills, Creative/Expressive Arts, Dance Therapy and Neoshamanic practices, during sessions to facilitate healing and integration.
As a seasoned psychotherapist/life coach, I believe in our innate healing potential and guide my clients to unlock their internal wisdom, resilience and resources for healing. Somatic (body-centered), mindfulness-based approaches to holistic coaching and therapy, allow me to integrate my clinical training while tuning into intuition to effectively guide the unfolding healing process of my clients. Trauma -informed, holistic coaching and therapy allows for greater capacity to rewire the brain, which can make the unconscious conscious and shift your automatic reactive patterns and outdated beliefs, helping you to live your best life.

Now is the time to address that sense of lack, uncertainty and anxious feeling. I am here to support you in this journey towards becoming that version of yourself that you know is within you.

I am a trained grief and certified EMDR trauma treatment psychotherapist.
In the past twenty seven years of practice, I've come to deeply understand that we become who we are from two sources: our relationships and experiences. The beliefs we hold about our limitations, potential, and life's possibilities spring from our interpretations (and misinterpretations) of life events and from the people surrounding them. I help clients unpack their past and present experiences so they may understand how these are woven together; to heal self-judgements and negative beliefs that come from their past; and create compassionate, loving, and empowered relationship with themselves, and others.

My therapeutic style is collaborative, empathetic, and person-centered. Clients I typically work with have presenting concerns such as anxiety, depression, and trauma . Depending on a client’s individual needs, I utilize a variety of modalities such as REBT, EMDR, narrative, and IFS. I find it helpful if clients explore their past traumas and/or attachments. In many cases our adoption of thoughts, feelings, and behaviors acquired during our early years, which may have served us, hinder our ability to function optimally as adults.

Are you feeling stuck, stressed or simply don't feel as good as you would like to? How can you change the way you feel, think and experience life? Most people are creatures of habit and once they settle into a repetitive pattern, find it daunting to move out of it. Unconscious conditioning is a powerful unseen player that creates repetitive patterns which greatly affect your quality of life. I help you access your unconscious patterns and reprogram them, freeing your intrinsic health, wisdom and zest for life.

I take a trauma sensitive, strength-based, existential, and compassionate approach to therapy.
Psychology is derived from the Greek word psyche, meaning soul, and logos, meaning knowledge. Understanding this, I see therapy as an ongoing soulful opportunity for Self discovery. No matter your background, I show up with an authentic optimism, knowing you have a wealth of wisdom within you. I create a non-judgmental space for clients to feel seen, heard, and met with kindness through their life challenges. I guide those who seek healing in trauma , depression, anxiety, self-esteem, addiction, relationships, and spirituality. I help people reclaim joy & health with an open curiosity towards the dynamics that make up their lives.

I especially enjoy doing this work with adoptees, couples, and those struggling with trauma or addiction.
Our world, our relationships, and our minds often present us with challenges too difficult to work out on our own. These challenges can bar us from intimate contact with ourselves and others. They often take over our life, or makes certain parts of it unbearable. And if you are seeking out ways to work with them, I whole-heartedly salute you. My counseling is client-centered, mindfulness-based, and attachment-informed. This means that you choose what we work on, I help you to explore it in the present moment, and we use the power of relationship and care in that exploration.

As a somatic and trauma based therapist with additional training in SE, EMDR and PACT Couple Therapy our work will go beyond talk therapy with a body- and experiential-based approach that helps develop congruency with your inner and outer world.
There is hope. Feeling stuck, pain, or discomfort is a natural part of being human, but the pain doesn't have to control your daily life. The challenges you face may stem from trauma , addiction, anxiety, or the struggle to make a relationship succeed. I am a body-centered psychotherapist interested in your well-being and in helping you understand the source of your pain. I would like to get to know you and provide a space where you can show up just as you are; where transformation and healing can take place. Together we will help you embody your strengths and internal wisdom to break unhealthy patterns and help you move forward.

I specialize in PTSD , depression, anxiety, and the deleterious impacts of oppression.
There are times in our lives, some longer than others, that can feel so painful and fragmented that we would do anything to go around, above, or below the pain; anything but through it. Emotional pain, and the impulse to avoid it, are not wrong. This distress is precisely what is needed for transformation to occur. A motivation to change and a supportive therapist provide the means for this journey.

Trauma and PTSD Therapists

When should I seek treatment for trauma?

Not everyone who undergoes trauma needs therapy to heal, but many do. If, after experiencing a traumatic event, you find yourself struggling with symptoms such as nightmares, dissociation, irritability, or emotional numbness—especially if these symptoms last more than a month and are severe enough to interfere with your daily functioning—you may benefit from seeking out therapy with a trauma-informed provider.

How long does trauma therapy take?

Different types of therapy for trauma unfold on different timelines. Prolonged exposure therapy and cognitive processing therapy, for example, each take about three months, while trauma-informed CBT may last anywhere from 8 to 25 sessions. Other approaches, especially those that are less structured or that incorporate elements from multiple modalities, may be more open-ended, though many patients report feeling better within the first few months of treatment.

What happens if trauma is left untreated?

Unaddressed trauma can have serious—even devastating—effects on relationships, career, and day-to-day functioning. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can lead people to distrust or lash out at others, making it difficult to maintain intimate relationships; it can also trigger symptoms such as flashbacks or hyperreactivity that can interfere with a person’s ability to function effectively, personally and/or professionally. Some sufferers turn to drugs to find relief. Symptoms may lessen on their own with time, but there is no guarantee that PTSD will resolve on its own.

Can PTSD come back after treatment?

It is possible for PTSD symptoms to recur months or years after successful treatment. This is because, like most mental health disorders, it is not possible to “cure” PTSD, and stressful life events may cause symptoms to recur in even the most resilient individuals. There is no shame in re-experiencing PTSD symptoms nor in returning to therapy when such relapses occur; indeed, many forms of trauma therapy explicitly encourage periodic “maintenance sessions” to reinforce coping skills and ensure that symptoms stay manageable.
