When you imagine a time when you felt at your best, what comes to mind for you? Perhaps, a time when you stood up for something important to you? Or, a time when you felt synchrony between your mind, your body, and your heart? Maybe you've experienced lots of moments when you felt like you could engage with the world in a meaningful way, and during that time you - just for a moment - lost track of the 'stuff' you usually carry along with you? Changes are, these experiences in your life are not entirely due to chance or circumstance... but rather, due to your mindset, your habits, and your relationships.

As a psychotherapist I specialize in working with men, athletes, and adolescents who are experiencing issues as such anxiety, trauma, and depression . I believe that for change to occur, there must be a strong foundation of trust, and safety in the therapeutic relationship. I aim to cultivate healing relationships with my clients in which they can grow from these pillars to experiment with new ways of being. I view change as arising from increased awareness of our physical and emotional experience and I strive to help others develop these areas through the cultivation of mindfulness, authenticity, and openness.

I work with high-performing individuals including athletes and driven professionals. You might feel like your past coping skills or ways of being aren't working anymore. You might have prior therapy experience but felt like things didn't really change. Depth work looks beyond surface-level coping and into the underlying patterns shaping how you relate to yourself and others. This includes integrating parts work (IFS), attachment theory, and unconscious processes. You'll have an opportunity to develop an honest, stable relationship with yourself, so your performance, relationships, and sense of purpose feel authentic and more free.

My main areas of focus are anxiety, sports performance, and perfectionism.
Are you an anxious, perfectionistic overthinker yearning for peace of mind? If anxiety is keeping you from unlocking your full potential—whether in relationships, your career, or athletic pursuits—you’re not alone. It may feel like you’ve been trapped in this cycle for far too long, but now is the time to break free. You’re ready to uncover and heal the parts of yourself carrying fear, worry, and self-criticism. Most importantly, you’re ready to reclaim your inner calm and step into lasting confidence.

Sports Performance Therapists
How does sports psychology work?
Sports psychology helps athletes identify and overcome challenges, such as perfectionism or a fear of failure, and improve key mental skills, such as confidence or concentration. By applying principles and techniques from psychology, such as goal-setting, visualization, positive self-talk, and emotion regulation, sports psychologists help athletes improve their performance on the field and their well-being overall.

How long does treatment for a sports-related problem take?
The duration of sports psychology treatment depends on the athlete’s individual challenges, goals, the complexity of the interventions used, and even on the length of the season. A performance anxiety issue may be treated with a short-term treatment, like Cognitive behavioural therapy, while issues such as depression, substance abuse, or severe anxiety may require longer-term treatments.

How effective is treatment for sports performance problems?
Sports psychology has been shown to improve performance and help athletes manage their emotions. Sports psychology can be effective in boosting performance, team dynamics, and injury rehabilitation. Over the past decade, nearly every professional sports team in every major sport has added a sports psychologist to its staff. Many colleges have done the same, and even some high school programs have done the same. Olympic hopefuls may consult with sports psychologists starting in elementary school.

What are the limitations of sports psychology?
Sports psychology may have several limitations. Every athlete is unique and may respond differently to sports psychology treatments. Therapy can help an athlete reach their potential; it can help athletes cope with injury and pain, but it cannot change the physical limitations that may be affecting an athlete’s performance.
