You’ve carried the weight of trauma, shame, and survival for too long. Maybe you feel anxious, numb, or hypervigilant—always scanning for danger, never able to fully rest. You might long for calm, belonging, and relationships that feel safe and real. For queer and sensitive souls, the world can be overwhelming: too loud, too fast, too unsafe to simply be. You’ve learned to hold everything together while quietly falling apart inside. You want to breathe again, to reconnect with your body and truth, to remember who you are beneath all the masks, the coping, and the shrinking. You're ready to move deeper.

We are living in a time of uncertainty, and for many, fear is a part of our every day lives. The healing and answers we seek go beyond band-aid approaches or comforting words. To heal our wounds, and live with the realities of life's unpredictability, we need all of us. And you need all of you, together, and whole. Through healing trauma, we grow a wider connection. Bravely approaching the hurts with the loving presence of somatic awareness and creative trance, a more spacious experience of self unfolds.

Many men carry pain quietly. Sometimes it shows up in the body, chronic pain, tension, exhaustion, or symptoms that won’t go away. Other times it shows up in ways no one sees. Stress, anger, numbness, burnout, or feeling disconnected from yourself and the people around you. A lot of the men I work with come in because they’re tired of holding everything together alone, or because their pain has become the only outlet their body has left. Therapy gives you a place to slow down, feel understood, and make sense of what your pain is actually trying to communicate.

As a relationship therapist, I see client issues through a lens of connection, both with others and with the self. Issues that I specialize in, such as trauma, relationships, death/loss, and emotional instability, are felt even stronger when we're isolated. Along with friend and family support, establishing a healthy, aligned relationship with your body is a powerful step towards healing. Learning to appreciate your own strength, resilience, and wisdom can foster deeper self-compassion. Your bond with yourself is so very valuable, it's the first and last relationship you'll ever have in life.

My style is empowering, solution-focused, down-to-earth, non-judgmental, and humorous. I am active in session. You can expect me to help guide conversations, provide reflections, and teach coping skills. As a Certified Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Specialist, I incorporate this evidence-based model into my practice. CBT helps us become more aware of our thoughts, feelings, motives, and behaviors. Therapy helps us understand our “stories”; the experiences that shaped us, the defenses that have helped protect us, and the patterns or habits that may be preventing us from living a satisfying life.

Ideal clients are those impacted by their symptoms with an awareness of needing to evolve to overcome their daily struggle. As we start our journey at the bottom of the mountain we must understand there are several paths to the top. All of these paths have the potential to lead you to the top to find the view you've been looking for. You're going to choose your path, as with many things in life. I will walk alongside you as we ascend the mountain, meeting daily goals on the way. As we move forward, we'll process the roots, rocks, caves, canyons we traverse. Why do you keep tripping on them? Why are they holding you back?

You may look strong and capable on the outside, but inside you feel weighed down by anxiety, depression, trauma responses, self-doubt, grief, or the relentless demands of work and relationships. You have always been creative and a deep thinker, you relied on logic and resilience to push through, but lately those strategies aren’t enough—you’re hitting a wall. You want clarity, direction, and lasting change, but you’re not sure where to start.

Your partner says "you're not showing up" but you don't know what that means. You've been trying hard, staying calm, keeping the peace, being supportive. You became the "good guy." Now she's threatening to leave. You feel numb more than alive. Conflict makes you shut down. You've lost yourself trying to keep everyone happy. You're terrified of being left, so you disappeared into being who you thought she wanted. It worked until it didn't. You need to learn a different way, one where you show up as yourself, not as the accommodating version you think will keep her from leaving.

I understand how difficult it must be to decide to reach out for help especially when society has created such a negative stigma when it comes to therapy. However, I am here to assure you that doing so not only shows insurmountable courage and strength, but it also demonstrates a quality of character that not many people possess; which is the willingness to change. I am here to be your co-captain in this journey and though it won't be easy, I will be with you to help you navigate all obstacles to move toward healing and a more fulfilling life overall.

Music Therapy

How does music therapy work?

A music therapist will begin by assessing the client’s specific needs and getting a sense of their musical ability and interests. Musical training is not required, and clients of all ages can benefit from this type of therapy. The therapist will then make a plan for how to achieve the client’s therapeutic goal(s) using a range of receptive (e.g., listening to a song) and active (e.g., drumming in a group) music therapy techniques.

What are some common music therapy techniques?

Music therapy usually involves listening to music (either live or recorded). Music therapy clients may also make music on popular instruments, such as the piano, guitar, and hand drum, or sing. Sometimes music therapy can include guided imagery. A music therapist may ask clients to improvise on the spot or even compose their own songs. Dancing or moving to music can be an effective intervention to help clients feel more fully grounded in their bodies and remain in the present moment.

How does music therapy help with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)?

Music therapy can be a valuable creative outlet for clients with Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) who have trouble putting their painful feelings into words. Listening to music can be relaxing while making music as part of a group provides plenty of opportunities to connect with other people. In addition to its mood-boosting effects, music therapy can help clients build resilience and overcome PTSD symptoms that may interfere with their daily lives.

How long does music therapy take?

Music therapy sessions generally last between 30 and 50 minutes. They can be scheduled in advance (for example, once a week) or can be done on an as-needed basis. Some clients will only require a handful of music therapy sessions to achieve their goals, while others may need months or longer, depending on their specific concern.
