When you walk through my door, I welcome each of you into my tribe. The innate vulnerability and humbleness of your mere presence are both respected and appreciated. In our shared space, values are rooted in empathy, awareness, accountability, and integrity. I believe only YOU are the true expert and historian of your life, and I graciously stand beside you on this path of exploration, healing, and endless growth. I am an ear, a tool, a voice, and at times a guide to support you on this beautiful and winding path.

The desire to be connected to others is innate, and yet we sometimes find ourselves alone, hopeless, sad, scared, and angry. I believe that being connected to ourselves and others is part of the human experience, and recovery from symptoms that interrupt our ability to live our lives to the fullest is possible. I have over 25 years of experience working with individuals who struggle with issues related to depression, anxiety, trauma and addiction. I believe change and insight are possible, and freedom from pain and suffering is attainable.

Diapason is a word made of Greek roots meaning “through” (dia) “all” (pas), and it is typically used to mean the entire scale of an instrument. It can also describe the process of individual notes arising together into harmonies. At Diapason, we appreciate the importance of each note, and we find that a lot of harm is done to people when they are all expected to sound (or look or act) the same. Therefore, we get to know each person individually so that we can best support them in creating more harmony within themselves, in their relationships, and in their connections to the world around them.

I help individuals and couples heal from betrayal trauma, dissociation, spiritual abuse, and addiction.
You’re holding it together on the outside, but something inside feels fractured. Maybe you’ve experienced betrayal, infidelity, addiction, spiritual abuse, or trauma you haven’t fully named. You want relief, but not a quick fix. You want real healing—something deeper, something that lasts. You want to understand why specific patterns repeat, how to regain trust in yourself, and how to build relationships that feel safe, honest, and connected. You're ready for a therapist who won’t flinch at complexity and can meet you where you truly are.

I help folks identify, access, and more effectively use their strengths and resilience - even under incredibly difficult and complex circumstances. Clients come to my practice to find alternatives to patterns and behaviors that are no longer working, to heal from traumas, explore identity, navigate transitions, and get unstuck. I work with teens, young adults, and adults who want real change, more support, effective boundaries, and honest connection in their lives using a social justice counseling framework that is client-defined, trauma-informed and strengths-based.

You’re a capable adult whose struggles feel loud: anxiety that won’t switch off, patterns with food and body that steal joy, focus and follow-through challenges from ADHD, or the grief and confusion of a breakup or major life shift. You want steadier mood, a calmer relationship with food, clearer routines, and hope. I offer a kind, research-based space to understand what’s driving symptoms, build practical skills, and create a plan that fits your life—so you can feel more grounded, confident, and connected day to day.

I specialize in couples therapy and individuals exploring relationship dynamics.
You're not alone if you long for intimacy, experience painful communication with your loved ones, or hope to nurture more stable and meaningful relationships. You may even be torn about whether to stay or go. Conflict, emotional shutdown, and misunderstanding often manifest from underlying fears or trauma histories. In our work together, I’ll help you tune into the subtle cues of your body, mind, and emotions. You are not broken; you are just carrying patterns that want care and attention as you're guided back into connection.

You may appear composed, capable, and grounded on the outside—while inside, something feels muted, uncertain, or disconnected. You may feel distant from your own emotions, unclear about who you are, or unsure how to move toward the change you sense is possible. Perhaps you’ve tried traditional talk therapy or thinking your way through things, but it hasn’t touched the deeper layers. You might also be integrating experiences from psychedelics or non-ordinary states and are searching for a grounded, compassionate place to make sense of it all. You’re longing for meaning, aliveness, and a more honest relationship with yourself.

You have tried talk therapy and it feels as though it is not moving the way it used to. Perhaps you are seeking support or a pathway to self discovery around old patterns, anxiety, depression, confusing emotions, overwhelm, relational dynamics, or loneliness. You feel drawn to a more holistic way of working with themes like these and you are curious to engage with more creative/art, spiritual/soul, somatic, nature-based or experiential approaches. You want to experience more embodiment, find clarity, grow/change, and learn about yourself- and you desire more than simply talking your way through it, this is where we may come in!

Marriage Counseling Therapists
How does marriage counseling work?
Marriage counseling works by teaching couples concrete skills to communicate with one another and solve disagreements in healthy ways. A trained mental health professional works with both members of a couple to explore difficulties the couple may be having and helps them develop skills to address these matters. Couples who don’t have any difficulties but want to prepare for marriage may develop skills for the future.

How long does marriage counseling typically last?
Marriage counseling is a short-term form of therapy; the process may last between four and eight sessions. Other forms of relationship guidance from mental health professionals, such as couples therapy, are longer lasting, may focus on the past rather than just the present, and are tailored to the individual couple and their emotions, history, and patterns in the relationship. Couples therapy often lasts for 12 weeks or longer.

Is marriage counseling effective?
Marriage counseling helps many couples develop relationship skills that may not have been acquired or tested in a relationship; partners may be better able to communicate and address conflict following counseling. However, there are many different forms of marriage counseling, and this form of counseling does not have as strong an evidence base as other modalities such as couples therapy.

Is marriage counseling effective if only one partner wants to go?
Yes, marriage counseling can still be effective if one partner convinces the other to engage in the process. Of course, whether counseling is effective depends on the couple’s commitment to work on their relationship; however, the short-term, skills-based nature of marriage counseling makes it a relatively easy “ask” of a partner, and the hesitant individual may see its value once counseling begins.
