Currently Accepting NEW Clients Hello, my name is Zach DePledge. In the 12 years I have been working in mental health, I have grown a passion in working with teenagers, young adults, and parents. Society places so much pressure on us these days to be perfect. What I have found is the comparison game we play in our minds destroys our self-esteem and can cause anxiety, depression, and many other mental health struggles. Parents are left wondering "am I parenting correctly?" Most of the times we don't talk about our struggles because we don't want to appear weak, in turn we are left struggling alone.

These are the main issues I can help you with: substance use, high-conflict relationships, and intervention support.
I work with individual adults who feel overwhelmed, stuck, or in crisis—whether from addiction, a high-conflict relationship, or a major life transition. Many of my clients are thoughtful, capable people who others depend on, but they’re silently battling anxiety, burnout, resentment, or emotional pain beneath the surface. They’re tired of white-knuckling their way through and ready for real support. Whether they’re seeking change for themselves or trying to help someone they love, they’re looking for clarity, direction, and steady, experienced guidance to move forward with confidence.

You're capable, thoughtful, and successful in many areas of life — yet something still feels fundamentally off. Arguments escalate faster than you want, or you go quiet afterward carrying a familiar weight of frustration, shame, or regret. You've built a life that looks right from the outside, yet the people closest to you still can't quite reach you. You're not falling apart. You're exhausted from holding it all together alone. You may be navigating recovery, fatherhood, life transition, or simply a growing sense that the way you've been doing things isn't working anymore. You're ready for something different.

You’ve been carrying a lot for a long time. On the outside, you keep it together; on the inside, it’s anxiety, numbness, self-doubt, or anger you don’t fully understand. You might be replaying old patterns in relationships, work, or with yourself and feeling stuck. My clients want more than coping skills—they want real change. Together we’ll slow down, make sense of what’s happening inside, and build a steadier, more honest way of living.

I've come to believe; the only way out is through. Using focusing on what is present, I work with clients to contact their inner healer to work through the now to heal the past. My hope is to facilitate access to this inner healer. I have both an undergraduate and Master's degree in Art Therapy and also trained in psychedelic therapy which also works in images (though the latter not covered by insurance through Headway). Guided imagery, Somatic therapies, Internal Family Systems, neurobiology concepts and DBT are some of the tools I use in therapy.

Intervention Therapists
How does an intervention work?
An intervention is a planned, structured meeting in which a person’s family or friends voice concerns about the person’s behavior and its consequences; the goal is for the person to accept treatment. In this meeting, the person’s loved ones (often with the guidance of a trained interventionist) share how the person’s behavior has harmed them and the consequences if the person refuses treatment. They collectively ask the person to accept a proposed treatment plan.

How effective are interventions?
There isn’t extensive research on the efficacy of interventions, in part because success is difficult to measure. Individuals often enter addiction treatment after an intervention, for example, but treatment itself may not work, especially if the person only begins due to external pressure from others rather than due to internal motivation to change. However, if all other attempts at helping someone have failed, an intervention may be worth exploring.

What are the limitations of interventions?
While a friend or family member’s intentions are in the right place in wanting to help a loved one through an intervention, there are significant limitations to the approach. The surprising nature of the event can make the person feel ambushed or judged. They may feel embarrassed or ashamed as a result, and relationships may be strained or broken. This can make it difficult for the individual to be receptive to the concerns of their loved ones and the interventionist.

Are there alternatives to interventions?
Rather than confronting a loved one through an intervention, an effective and less pressured approach is to create space for a caring, open, one-on-one conversation. This works best if the loved one asks open-ended questions, listens attentively to the answers, and frames their observations and statements with concern rather than judgment. More than one conversation may be needed, but change can take root over time.
