I use EMDR (trauma resolution), body-based awareness, "felt sense" awareness, nature-based therapy, movement, mindfulness, parts work/sand tray, grief counseling, imaginal nurturing, and talk therapy to guide clients into connection to themselves.
Unraveling old patterns of pain, stress and trauma come from having experiences in the body that contradict old patterns. Learning to calm the nervous system through a therapeutic relationship is working at the root. It is good to want to feel more connected to yourself, others, and the world...and healing is possible through awareness, working with your body and brain health, and discovering new skills and tools. Early childhood wounding, loss of boundaries, ineffective coping and attachment issues are often at the heart of confusion, pain, and suffering. The antidote is care and safety, and change is possible. Its ok.

I utilize a blend of EMDR , DBT, Positive Psychology, Mindfulness, and Motivational Interviewing to help my clients develop the skills that they need to build confidence and positive self-awareness.
Our experiences impact who we are, the positive ones stay with us, but the negative ones stay with us as well. The relationships we have had throughout our lives are also deeply influential in shaping who we are and how we feel and behave in our current environment. Therapy gives us a deeper understanding of who we are and how our relationships and experiences have impacted us. Through a deeper awareness we have more control over how we'd like to show up in our lives. I specialize in Eating Disorders, Trauma, PTSD, ASD, anxiety and depression.

I offer EMDR therapy, somatic bodywork, attachment therapy, and psychotherapy.
I am a trauma-focused therapist who strongly believes that the negative cognitions we have about ourselves start with the trauma we have experienced in the past. I provide psychotherapy and EMDR therapy to those looking to resolve issues related to trauma, depression, anxiety, substance use, and emotional dysregulation. I believe for one to connect with others, one should connect with themselves internally. Through a healthy therapeutic alliance, I believe we can collaborate and work together to heal and gain coping strategies that will provide relief from symptoms of concern.

I bring depth, a non-judgmental attitude and extensive experience with mindfulness, DBT, EMDR , IFS, and somatic, based therapies.
There are times in our lives, some longer than others, that can feel so painful and fragmented that we would do anything to go around, above, or below the pain; anything but through it. Emotional pain, and the impulse to avoid it, are not wrong. This distress is precisely what is needed for transformation to occur. A motivation to change and a supportive therapist provide the means for this journey.

We are all a product of our stories— the good, the bad, and everything between. Many times, we aren’t aware of how rooted we are in past beliefs and relationship narratives or how deeply they’ve impacted our current choices and decisions. Therapy allows us to uncover the different sides of ourselves, to unlearn unhelpful beliefs and to emphasize positive ones. Together, we can create a collaborative environment that will help you gain a greater sense of self-awareness and self-esteem. I specialize in treating trauma, anxiety, and PTSD with a range of modalities including EMDR and IFS. Focused on college students and adults

As a therapist trained and experienced in trauma treatment ( EMDR ) and cognitive-behavioral, DBT, CBT, solutions focused, and mindfulness interventions, I assist in peeling back the layers of trauma, defenses, and “should” voices to restore your voice and your body/mind's natural healing ability.
Do you have unresolved wounds from childhood, relationships, from the general trauma that life inflicts? I believe everyone has a core self that contains the innate wisdom to heal, grow, and to be liberated through self compassion. I also believe this part of ourselves gets blocked -- physically, emotionally, mentally, spiritually -- and silenced through various wounds like trauma, belief systems, and the negative messages we receive from others and society. If you seek healing and a newfound sense of inner freedom and self-acceptance, I can help you.

As a somatic and trauma based therapist with additional training in SE, EMDR and PACT Couple Therapy our work will go beyond talk therapy with a body- and experiential-based approach that helps develop congruency with your inner and outer world.
There is hope. Feeling stuck, pain, or discomfort is a natural part of being human, but the pain doesn't have to control your daily life. The challenges you face may stem from trauma, addiction, anxiety, or the struggle to make a relationship succeed. I am a body-centered psychotherapist interested in your well-being and in helping you understand the source of your pain. I would like to get to know you and provide a space where you can show up just as you are; where transformation and healing can take place. Together we will help you embody your strengths and internal wisdom to break unhealthy patterns and help you move forward.

I do EMDR with trauma survivors and provide homework and self-help tools when appropriate.
People come to therapy when they have exhausted their own ideas and resources for solving their problems. I listen carefully, often between the lines, to help you see aspects of yourself you may not have seen before. We will explore at your own pace and I will provide support, encouragement, and sometimes suggestions until you find the answers, insights, and the courage to move forward on your own.

EMDR Therapists

Who is EMDR for?

EMDR was initially developed as a treatment for individuals with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), for whom memories of a deeply distressing experience can be inadvertently triggered by random everyday events. The procedure has since been applied in the treatment of many other conditions. For example, it is used by some therapists to treat anxiety disorders including panic and phobias, depression, dissociative disorders, eating disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders, and some personality disorders. It is suitable for adolescents and adults.

Why do people need EMDR?

People need EMDR as a way to manage distressing memories that in some way hamper the ability to function in the present. The procedure is believed to target the way memories are stored in the brain. Evidence indicates that past disturbing experiences cause ongoing distress because they were not adequately processed, and when such memories are triggered in the present, they are accompanied by all the emotions, thoughts, and physical sensations as the initial experience.

What problems does EMDR treat?

First and foremost, EMDR is intended as a treatment for PTSD, to defuse distressing memories that intrude on and impair everyday functioning. It is also often used to help those who are subject to panic attacks, phobias, and other forms of anxiety. In addition, EMDR has been used to treat individuals with depression, eating disorders, and personality disorders.

What happens in EMDR therapy?

First the therapist takes an individual’s history, and then the therapist and client decide which distressing experience(s) will be the target(s) of the exercise, delivered via a side-to-side visual stimulus requiring lateral eye movements. The client will be asked to activate thoughts, feelings, and any body sensations related to the troubling experience. The eye movements are said to reduce the emotional charge of the memory, so that the experience can then be safely discussed with the therapist and digested, minimizing its ability to trigger anxiety.
