Have you ever felt an internal conflict? Feeling dysregulated can cripple one's ability to function. Maybe one part of you wants to go out and have fun, while another insists you stay home and work. This internal conflict is more common than you might think. Understanding these different parts of yourself can lead to profound changes in one's life. This concept identifies and validates that we have various internal parts. Calming the internal storm allows space and clarity to handle the external challenges. Internal healing unburdens the past traumas and experiences that cause depression and discouragement.

You might be someone who has been through something hard and hasn't quite felt like yourself since. Or maybe you've always known your brain is wired in a way the world doesn't always make room for, and you're exhausted from masking, overcompensating, and falling through the cracks. Either way, you're ready for something to actually change. You want to feel calmer, more in control, and like your daily life isn't such a fight. You're not looking for someone to just nod and listen. You want real tools, a real plan, and someone who genuinely gets it.

Life happens! I tend to meet people at one of two junctures: either a big issue has arisen that requires some change; or they find themselves simply dissatisfied with life as it exists (relationships, jobs, friends.) Change IS possible- but most of us were not taught how to identify or remove obstacles, nor are we great at identifying the strengths that can get us there.

Currently Accepting NEW Clients Hello, my name is Zach DePledge. In the 12 years I have been working in mental health, I have grown a passion in working with teenagers, young adults, and parents. Society places so much pressure on us these days to be perfect. What I have found is the comparison game we play in our minds destroys our self-esteem and can cause anxiety, depression, and many other mental health struggles. Parents are left wondering "am I parenting correctly?" Most of the times we don't talk about our struggles because we don't want to appear weak, in turn we are left struggling alone.

My clients are often neurodivergent individuals or families navigating anxiety, trauma, or life transitions. Many feel unseen within systems that misunderstand their needs or their child’s behavior. They seek clarity, emotional regulation, and practical support for challenges at home, school, or during co-parenting. Most want to feel steadier and better understood—by others and by themselves.

Cognitive Processing (CPT) Therapists
How does cognitive processing therapy work?
A CPT therapist helps a client evaluate their thoughts about the trauma they experienced, focusing on maladaptive or self-blaming thoughts that can exacerbate symptoms of PTSD, anxiety, or depression. The therapist will work with a client to help them learn to challenge such thoughts and consider different perspectives. The therapist is also likely to ask a client to work on these techniques at home between meetings, such as writing an account of their trauma that can be read aloud during a future session.

What is cognitive processing therapy for PTSD?
Cognitive processing therapy (CPT) is a form of cognitive-behavioral therapy primarily used in the treatment of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) to treat individuals who experienced abuse or violence, who survived natural disasters, who were first responders to such incidents, or who otherwise experienced trauma.

How long does cognitive processing therapy last?
CPT is a short-term therapy. Whether conducted one-on-one or in a group, a complete set of CPT sessions typically includes 12 weekly sessions, along with tasks for clients to complete at home, although this can vary depending on a client’s needs or a therapist’s particular treatment plan. Sessions typically last 60 or 90 minutes.

How effective is cognitive processing therapy?
A large body of research supports the use of CPT to treat people experiencing PTSD, finding it to be effective among different age groups, either in one-on-one therapy sessions or in a group therapy environment. Research suggests that although the initial sessions may be difficult, clients tend to begin to feel positive progress after the first few sessions, and that the benefits tend to last well after the therapy ends.
