Finding a therapist is like finding a good avocado at the grocery store: If they’re available right now, something is probably wrong, right? All jokes aside, let's face it, you don't want to be here, because therapist shopping objectively sucks. You're probably going through hell right now. That doesn't make you a failure, there is no shame in that. That means you are human: a complicated bundle of bones and amino acids, eccentricities and aspirations, battle scars. But remember, at your core is a person who has access to courage, creativity, and wisdom capable of transforming obstacles into opportunities for growth.

If you struggle with mastering your circumstances, they may end up mastering you. This is a reality we all face, but the time and effort required to do so can be overwhelming. My experience is centered around neurodivergent populations who struggle with emotions and executive functioning. I view each client with holistic, person-centered views of a unique and complex individual rather than just a diagnosis. As an abstract thinker, I specialize in helping you tie the pieces together in a new, autonomous and empowering way. I strive to be genuine and collaborative in sessions-- come talk to me about anything, I would love to listen!

My work is built on a foundation of the belief that everyone possesses health, sanity, and wisdom regardless of how disconnected they feel from it or the problems presenting in their life. I support clients tired of being pathologized and ready to become authors of their own experience through self-defined narratives of healing.

To the deep feelers and thinkers, those who notice things that others miss, I see you. 30% of us are born with more finely-tuned nervous systems than others, yet most of us have been made to feel different, strange, and "too sensitive". If you often get overwhelmed by life and the chaos of the world, there's absolutely nothing wrong with you. I love helping Highly Sensitive People (HSPs) and others with neurodiverse brains understand themselves in light of their sensitivity, heal from past trauma, and gain the self-trust to soar.

I work with people navigating relationship patterns, personality dynamics, and the parts of life that don't respond to ordinary advice - the recurring conflicts, the high-functioning exhaustion, the sense that something underneath needs to shift but you can't quite name it. Most of what brings people to therapy isn't actually located inside the individual. It lives in a system - a couple, a family, a group, an organization, a culture - and the person carrying the symptom is often the one most attuned to what the system can't yet metabolize.

In therapy, we won’t just “ add coping skills
Are you a man struggling with relationships, mood, parenting, or career? I have years of experience providing assessment and therapy services across Colorado for men who feel stuck, weighed down, or disconnected from their zest and passion. I have helped hundreds of people build lives with greater joy, intentionality, and connection. I specialize in depth-oriented psychodynamic therapy. This means I help you uncover the roots of what keeps you stuck rather than only addressing surface-level symptoms. Together, we explore how past experiences and relationships influence the present and how that insight can create lasting change.

My approach is client-centered, meaning I start where you are and work collaboratively to find a way forward. Perhaps that means finding a solution to a specific problem, or breaking patterns of behavior, or simply developing a better understanding of yourself.

Diapason is a collective of independent clinicians who all specialize in supporting individuals and their loved ones around a variety of neurodiverse experiences, including Autism, ADHD, and Complex PTSD, among others.
Diapason is a word made of Greek roots meaning “through” (dia) “all” (pas), and it is typically used to mean the entire scale of an instrument. It can also describe the process of individual notes arising together into harmonies. At Diapason, we appreciate the importance of each note, and we find that a lot of harm is done to people when they are all expected to sound (or look or act) the same. Therefore, we get to know each person individually so that we can best support them in creating more harmony within themselves, in their relationships, and in their connections to the world around them.

You may also have a learning difference or neurodevelopmental condition such as dyslexia, ADHD, or ASD that leaves you feeling overwhelmed, isolated, angry, anxious, depressed, or misunderstood.
I help twice-exceptional individuals better understand both their strengths and their challenges. Many 2e individuals experience and process the world differently because of the complex combination of high intelligence and learning differences. While this can create challenges, it is also often a source of creativity, insight, originality, and depth.

If you're a late-diagnosed autistic or ADHD adult, you've likely spent years contorting yourself to adapt and fit in.
I'm neurodivergent myself, and I know this terrain from the inside. The masking, the self-erasure, and the attempts to fit into an already-misguided world is exhausting. I bring a deep understanding of the neurodivergent mind and body, using parts work, and relationship trauma work to support you in finding your path to wellbeing.

Therapy can be used to address ADHD, oppositional defiance disorder, anxiety, depression, and drug and alcohol issues.
I have been providing therapy to children, adolescents, young adults, parents and men throughout the Boulder & Denver area's since 1995. My counseling style and therapeutic approach are unique and innovative. By using a less traditional style of therapy, I have been able to connect with and help people and families that have not found conventional therapy productive or beneficial or have found traditional therapy to have not met their needs. I use a strength-based, solution-focused, cognitive-behavioral therapy approach which is designed to treat issues that arise in our individual lives, personal relationships and families.

When should I seek treatment for ADHD?
You should seek treatment for ADHD if you consistently have difficulty with attention, hyperactivity, or impulsivity that interferes with your daily life. Symptoms of ADHD include the inability to sustain attention during tasks, difficulty organizing tasks and activities, being easily distracted, frequent fidgeting or squirming, and talking or interrupting excessively. If these symptoms interfere with your career, academics, or relationships—for example, consistently failing to complete professional projects on time—you should seek an evaluation for ADHD.

How does treatment for ADHD work?
Effective treatment for ADHD often consists of medication, behavioral therapy, and lifestyle changes. Stimulant medications such as Adderall and Ritalin work by altering levels of neurotransmitters in the brain; higher levels of dopamine and norepinephrine are known to improve attention and focus. Therapy works by helping people with ADHD understand the condition, discuss their areas of difficulty, and develop behavioral strategies to manage their symptoms. In some cases, modifying one’s diet and exercise can also help improve symptoms.

Are there specific medications for ADHD?
Medications to treat ADHD are generally stimulants, the most common are Adderall and Ritalin. There are two categories of stimulants: Amphetamines include Adderall, Dyanavel, Vyvanse, and Dexedrine, and methylphenidates include Ritalin, Concerta, Daytrana, Focalin, Quillichew, Quillivant, and Metadate. Non-stimulants and antidepressants may be used as an alternative if stimulants aren’t effective or viable for a particular patient.

How long does treatment for ADHD take?
It’s tough to give an exact time frame because everyone varies. In terms of medications, stimulants begin to work very soon after you take them, generally within the hour. It may take time to identify the right medication and dosage, but the medication itself is fast-acting. In terms of therapy, it takes time to develop skills and put them into practice, but you will likely see improvements within a few weeks or months.
