What if emotions are actually messengers and signals? What important information are we missing when we push them away? Using mindfulness based approaches ( EMDR , Hakomi, IFS) we can get to the roots of your distress and discover patterns of thought, feelings and behavior that may be outside your everyday awareness.
Do you feel overwhelmed by emotions? Many of us do. We try to push them away until one day that no longer works, and then we panic. Maybe you struggle with worry, a fierce inner critic, trauma, or feeling sad or numb. Perhaps a difficult break-up or loss feels unbearable. Maybe you'd like more clarity about your feelings and how to express your emotions. If this sounds like you, I'd like to help. As painful as these times can be, there is potential for deep personal growth. I can help you find some relief from these struggles, and in the process come away with greater self-awareness, confidence and self-compassion.

As a somatic and trauma based therapist with additional training in SE, EMDR and PACT Couple Therapy our work will go beyond talk therapy with a body- and experiential-based approach that helps develop congruency with your inner and outer world.
There is hope. Feeling stuck, pain, or discomfort is a natural part of being human, but the pain doesn't have to control your daily life. The challenges you face may stem from trauma, addiction, anxiety, or the struggle to make a relationship succeed. I am a body-centered psychotherapist interested in your well-being and in helping you understand the source of your pain. I would like to get to know you and provide a space where you can show up just as you are; where transformation and healing can take place. Together we will help you embody your strengths and internal wisdom to break unhealthy patterns and help you move forward.

I am EMDR trained and have extensive experience in working with adult survivors of trauma and abuse.
If you are ready for real change in your life and are tired of being stuck in the same routine, same fears, or same unhelpful thought patterns, then we will work very well together. Many of the clients who see me for therapy have experienced excessive worry and hyper-vigilance, racial trauma, hopelessness, suffered from the aftereffects of a traumatic event, or have had difficulty connecting in relationships with others.

Therapeutic modalities I use may include EMDR , Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Family Systems, Mindfulness techniques, somatic psychotherapeutic techniques, yoga and breath-work, and addiction treatments that include Motivational Interviewing and transpersonal therapies.
I'm guessing that in many areas of your life you are functioning quite well, even thriving. On the other hand you may be simultaneously experiencing a lack of fulfillment and a feeling of emptiness in another area(s) of your life. Symptoms of this may be anxiety, mood problems (including depression), addiction, problems in relationships or behavioral issues. You can choose the pain of stagnation or the discomfort of growth. If you choose growth, you will experience greater joy, peace, connectedness, and purpose. My purpose is to facilitate your growth and therapy is a powerful tool for your transformation.

I offer several types of therapy, one of them being EMDR .
Maybe you've been feeling anxious, depressed or your relationships are struggling. Feeling overwhelmed from depression, PTSD or anxiety can negatively affect your job, your confidence and your ability to be present on a daily basis. You might be thinking - "Nobody knows what I'm going through" - or have thoughts telling you - “You are not good enough.” Maybe you've felt lost and hopeless. You do not have to go through this alone.

I am trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), EMDR , Interpersonal neurobiology, and mindfulness practices.
As a therapist, my goal is to help you uncover your true potential. During times when we are overwhelmed or flooded by emotions it can be difficult to find solutions to lifes challenges. We can become frustrated by our tendency to repeat the same patterns over and over. In our therapy we will work toward establishing balance, positive coping skills and new strategies unique to your own strengths and potential. While we can't change difficult situations of the past, we can work together to better understand and resolve challenges in your life.

EMDR is available individually for trauma, anxiety and PTSD symptoms.
I know that children and teens have strengths along with concerning risk factors that may need attention. If you or your family members are experiencing difficulty with your relationships because of communication and problem-solving problems, please consider evidence-based individual or episodic family therapy. Research shows lasting results when parents and youth learn ways to enhance one another's relational skill-building together. I specialize in helping clients find ways to work through risks such as substance abuse, aggression, anxiety, mood swings, trauma, loss and grief, and school issues.

Along with other modalities, we use mindfulness practice and EMDR therapy to help deepen the work to get clients to know their truth and transform their stories into what they want them to be.
Our badass team helps clients reclaim the joy in their relationships, schooling and careers and go from struggling to thriving. Our clients go from faking their way and just getting through the day to becoming the shining authentic beings they are meant to be. Perhaps you have survived, now it is time to shine. We have an amazing team of folks ranging from clinical interns to senior therapists, but we all specialize in helping clients dive deep and share tools that allow clients to sustain measurable and meaningful change. We accept CCHA Medicaid which is often the state Medicaid assigned to Jeffco and Boulder Counties.

I utilize and include EMDR where appropriate to aid in the alleviation of both psychological physiological trauma response.
Life is full of change, transition, and growth. Throughout these shifts in our experience, we return to intrinsic patterns of behavior to help us navigate, pull through, or survive. Often times, these strategies do not fit our current experience. The feedback we receive from partners, friends, work, or the world feels confusing. I work with clients to tease out the behaviors that present as stressors within the phases in our life process. I work to meet each individuals' needs, and utilize a strengths based approach to support self-esteem development, aid in the therapeutic process, and arrive closer to the authentic self.

EMDR Therapists
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) is an information processing therapy that helps clients cope with trauma, addictions, and phobias. During this treatment, the patient focuses on a specific thought, image, emotion, or sensation while simultaneously watching the therapist's finger or baton move in front of his or her eyes. The client is told to recognize what comes up for him/her when thinking of an image; then the client is told to let it go while doing bilateral stimulation.
